We've established that Thorne's family has no idea what's going on with him, yet Ridge spends five episodes "thinking"? 🙄
In a previous interview,John McCook stated that the script always had to revolve around Ridge..he even joked that it was Ron this,..Ron that..till they waited to get a Ron international Airport next!
No "welcome home, Thorne!" shindig. No visits (that I can recall) to the jailhouse. Are Eric & Stephanie even aware that Sally has been shot??? I only hope Thorne starts his anger management BEFORE he visits his Parents 🙄..that fella has every right to hold a grudge...😣just not understanding these recent episodes.
Not even his attorney appears to be aware that his client has been freed, charges dropped, probably gone hoke, had a fresh bath and is back into the real world. Nor does he appear to know that the case is now closed because the real murderer has been caught.
It seems that Macy and her family has done more to get Thorne out of prison than his own family has ever done.
Ridge didn't deny it when Stephanie said, "You've made the wrong decision now?"

Jessica saying that Maggie used to bring out those photos in front of her other boyfriends is interesting no? It reveals another side to their difficult relationship back home. You get the sense that Maggie was an extrovert who needed attention and needed to feel young even if it embarrassed her daughter. She probably sought that attention from and even flirted with Jessica's high school boyfriends. The way she would go on about Horace Green having a good job now and being a good match for Jessica, it always sounded like maybe _she_ wanted to hook up with Horace! All of this makes her relationship with Dylan seem less innocent.
Great point! Maggie doesn't actually come across as a "mother" - it's more like she is still a high school girl trying to recapture the youth she lost when becoming pregnant as a teenager (twice).
@@annieo6527 Exactly. I wish they'd lean into this aspect of her character. It would make her more interesting and more specific. Instead they try to write her as a shy country bumpkin and it clashes with the vibe of the actress and with some of Maggie's backstory and behavior.
I didn't think Jessica had any boyfriends back home. The way she described her life back in Iowa when she first arrived in LA she painted herself as a loner who didn't fit in much less dated. 🤔

Stephanie has done a good job staying neutral while she's been spending time with Ridge at the cabin. But when she tells him to take even longer ( week, a month) to make his decision, it suggests that she senses who he will choose and she's trying to buy more time for herself so she won't have to face the dreaded outcome. 😩

In a weird way, Taylor helped Ridge make this mature decision to stay with Brooke because of the children.
He gave Taylor credit for having a profound effect on his life when they were together. He waxed on about how she had changed him, made him a better person. So, his decision is based on the children…not hurting them.
But, in no time, he’ll want Taylor back. The heart knows.

This and the last episodes are "The Bold and the Beautiful" being as "The Bold and the Beautiful" as it can possibly be. You would think Thorne's release from jail would be pretty climactic after Anthony was arrested two episode ago, but he was barely in the last episode and not in this episode at all. Why this show wasn't named "Everyone but Thorne" is really a mystery to me.

Well, the writers had to build the suspense. But when Taylor shows up…Reality sets in for Ridge. He doesn’t want to go back in time because he has moved on with Brooke whom he also loved. Ridge is in a good place with his family.
Taylor has basically been left behind because her choice was to let Ridge be happy? But then she became unhappy without him…and moved to try and get him back too late! 😢
The writers did an AWFUL job with the storyline. Ridge being indifferent towards Taylor did not stay true to the characters or past storyline.
Very very poor.
Even tho his decision was to not disappoint the children and stay in that family, they could have given us some more build up and suspense.
The way it is written now, I'd have been shocked if he decided to keep Taylor as his wife.
A repeat of BRIDGE, 1992. First Ridge had been so much in love that he didn't even mind to break up his father's marriage and had told his mother about his plans to buy a house for BRIDGE and little Eric. Then in a matter of just some weeks Ridge had not only moved onto Taylor again, but didn't care much that Brooke might be pregnant with his child.
While it is funny that Ridge today tells his mom that he wonders if he deserves two great women like Brooke and Taylor, the sad thing is that no, neither of them really deserve a man who can move on so quickly and easily, when he has finally made that decision.

That is not exactly how it went. Deacon had agreed to Brooke to divorce Bridget because he had used her to get to the Forresters. So it wasn’t that Deacon loved Bridget…he was planning on leaving her before the affair happened. It was a betrayal nonethelessless…for Brooke to go there. 😟

Last time Ridge made the choice he had two memories, one for each lady. Bridge moment was the birth of Bridget. This time Ridge has only one memory of him with his new famiy few episods ago, always with the children and nothing about Taylor .

Of course this is a setup so Taylor's disappointment will be as great as possible, but Taylor really does come across as Brooke-level unreliable in her predictions of the outcome of Ridge's choice.
However, unlike Brooke, Taylor says that she will respect Ridge's decision (which IIRC Brooke _didn't_ promise during the last "Ridge choice").
The fact that this is the first time Ridge has even spoken to Taylor in a while, really doesn't make his choice surprising.
I also noted that Taylor's memory was specific to the time Ridge wanted to start a family with her. That, to me, is a foreshadowing of what will be a large part of Ridge's decision (as well as the fact they've made Brooke's kids a centre piece of the story for the past few weeks).
Right. Again it's a mix of new of new role and old archetype. It's interesting though because Taylor's incorrect prediction that Ridge will choose her this time is also mixed with her daydream of starting a family with Ridge which _will_ become a reality.

I was laughing so hard when Ridge talked about "two" incredible women, I only see one. Why do I have to wait for a new episode every day here on UA-cam? Since they are from 1995, I will never finish the entire series as long as I live with only one episode per day.

Okay, Taylor doesn't have anything to worry about. James is her friend AND her shrink.
And James supposedly is the best shrink that you can get. I have not been impressed yet (Sheila SL), but nowadays James seems to do a better job in analyzing Ridge's actions and thoughts.

While we see Ridge packing a suitcase in the beginning of the episode, it ends with Ridge staying for another night but sending his mom back home already. Still, that has been his suitcase he was packing, wasn't it? 😅

Ridge says that he woke up one day to find that he has two wives. Well I have two wives Barbara Crampton and Kathleen Kinmont.
Jessica says about Maggie being leather and metal. Perhaps a reference to what my wive Barbara wore in From Beyond.
Jessica says that she would be right back. My wife Barbara says she would right back in Fraternity Vacation.
Dylan says the words, "cool off" and my wife Barbara says those exact same two words in Fraternity Vacation.
Dylan says to Maggie that he can't stop seeing her because for him it is too late for him to turn back.
For me I can't stop seeing my wife Barbara. It became too late for me when I saw her in that scene in Fraternity Vacation as that was when I became stuck with her.
