The best flow I've been able to imagine (also heavily relying on Zapier to triage) is to set expectations for the payment plan on your website as simple text. Then use a 1-time Payment Link through Stripe to handle the initial customer intake and set that as the first payment in your payment plan. In my case it's a "Pay in 4" so payment 1 of 4 is handled with the turn key Stripe Payment Link page. Once complete, I use Zapier to handle adding the customer to my CRM and Enroll in course but also simultaneously create a "Customer" in Stripe and enroll them in a Subscription that is set to start +1 mo after the initial payment is received. The only downside is the first transaction using Payment Links labels my customers as a "Guest" rather than "Customer" and so doesn't accurately reflect the lifetime value rolled up cleanly from Stripe's dashboard. Moving forward, they are in the system for future transactions. The only other downside I haven't gotten to the bottom of is if selecting "Automatically Charge Payment Method on File" will generate an invoice for them to fulfill on the initial order if they are a new, first time customer. That's where I've gotten stuck but trying to avoid fancy 3rd party integrations that will no doubt have yet another Saas fee for the "convenience". Did you end up finding a solution with your Zapier automations? I noticed Zapier now has Stripe and Stripe (Legacy) integrations with the "Stripe" integration having options to create invoices. Only problem I've found so far is it just generates a 'draft' invoice but someone still has to go into the Stripe backend and manage issuing them to customers.
