      Cheers Jordan that's very helpful, is that an online manual or a hard copy?

      Not a Motorbike Mechanic it’s a scan of the hard copy. Took a bit of digging to find it, all of the easily available ones seem to be for the older bikes. I can send it to you if you would like.

    Recently came across your channel and enjoy the content. I've just bled the brakes on my 2014 Street triple r. You might be aware now from the manual, that there are 3 stages to this. Conventional bleed of the system is required 1st and following the abs bleed, as old fluid is introduced into the system from the abs modulator which will need bleeding out.

      Hi Trevor, thanks for supporting the channel, your input is very much appreciated.
      I think at the end of the video, I do mention that another bleed is needed, but didn’t show it as the video would be to long.

    These are very good guides and I believe I have seen them all. You mention an on line manual, I have been looking but never found it, please can you give a link to this.

    Hi - an interesting video but I assume that as this was a year ago you are aware you carried out the ABS procedure incorrectly???
    According the the official manual, you bleed the front right, then left and then master cylinder.
    Following this, the ABS is bled by applying and maintaining pressure on the front brake lever - now activate the “bleed abs” function, whilst at the same time releasing the bleed nipple. Now tighten the nipple, release the brake lever and repeat, in other words, you bleed the brakes exactly as before, with the exception that the abs modulator is running at the same time.
    Continue until no more air is seen or until you have passed enough fluid with the abs running such that you are happy you have flushed the modulator fully with fresh fluid.
    Simply running the abs and releasing the nipple will do nothing - you need to push the fluid through the modulator as described above.
    I hope my comments are helpful

    Very helpful as always. Congratulations for your channel and thank you for posting your works on it. I want to ask you for something you maybe noticed in your Speed Triple R: a terrible "double touch" feeling on the brake lever...is that your case? I own a 2017 Speed Triple R and it's very sad to feel this in a bike expensive as it is. Brake bleeding, master cylinder upgrades...nothing seems to solve this.

    Hi. Do you have a link to where you purchased the tool and the software? Thanks

    hi there, Is it necessary for bleeding ABS when I flush brake system? I flush my front and rear brake system by myself. I didn't bleed the ABS system because I don't know where I can get the software. I worried about if my ABS can work well after I finished flush job. so I tried to active them. The ABS light is still working. I can tell the rear ABS worked well when I tried the rear brake. but the front ABS hasn't engaged when I pull the front brake lever. Do I need to ride to dealer to bleed my front ABS brake? Cheers.

      It is important to flush abs, but doubt anything catastrophic would happen if you didn't.
      Maybe activate the abs, to move old fluid around, then rebleed the calipers

      @@notamotorbikemechanic cheers, mate. thank you for the reply. I had tried to engage the front abs, it's very hard to active. but the rear abs is much easier to be active. Do you know how to check if the abs system work well?

    Seems a little complex. I feel like I’m going to mess something up, is it pretty cheap to get this done by a mechanic?

    • @notamotorbikemechanic
      @notamotorbikemechanic  4 роки тому

      Nothing done at the dealership is cheap, bleeding brakes is easy. You don’t have to bleed the ABS modulator

      @@notamotorbikemechanic ok it’s time to change my fluid and I decided to do it myself. I don’t have a dealership tool so what all do I need to completely change the fluid in front and rear?

    Sighs.. another long winded job i was all happy untill you said and datatool and ecu. Soo I'm going to have to buy this software just to bleed the brakes.

    • @notamotorbikemechanic
      @notamotorbikemechanic  Рік тому +1

      Sadly with modern bikes, everything is get more difficult.
      You could just do a bleed, without doing the abs.
      Or do it, then ride the bike and activate the abs. To move the fluid around, then rebleed.👍
