  • BILT HARD Log Splitter 6.5 Ton Electric Log Splitter TEST and REVIEW
    I have been in the market for an electric log splitter for the last few months. I was shocked when Bilt Hard‪@bilthard9600‬ reached out to see if I would like to try and give a fair and honest review their 6 Ton Electric Log Splitter. My first impression is how heavy duty , compact , and strong this machine is.

      @@ajgarcia86 good afternoon Aj I don’t know why I’m just getting this notification 14 hours later! I do apologize for that, thank you very much for taking the time out of your day to not only watch but to comment. It means a lot, I am just happy I am able to partner with great company’s that provide me with products I can showcase!
      You will love it, it’s a powerful little machine! Just make sure to release the pressure (the instructions are very clear) if not you can blow the gasket!
      Thank you again

    Pushing two buttons is gonna get old real fast. You cant control where the wood falls. The yard max motor stays on once you start it. Then you have a free hand to control the wood. Add a foot pedal and a bungie cord on the lever and you have both hands free. The yard max has the same 6.5 ton rating. I paid $400.00 to my door. It works good.

      Good evening Mrgsxr sorry for the late response my son had a basketball game! That’s a great idea, and you are right. I have used this machine a few time after this video to split smaller more custom wood for my pizza oven and for that it has worked perfect.

    I have an enclosed wood shed and an electric splitter lets me close up the shed and split wood inside, in any weather, in warmth and comfort.

      Most of these style of splitter have the return spring built in, surrounding the ram rod, inside the cylinder, oil reservoir.

      Ohh sheesh well what I do like about the few products I have from Bilt Hard they all come with a very detailed parts list. I have been splitting a bunch of kindling especially on rainy days.

      @@kevin0111, curious as to where the leak appears to be coming from ? Had you opened the air bleed screw before operating the machine ? The machine appears to work best level or wedge end slightly raised, also helps reduce risk of spitting oil out of bleed vent.

    • @kevin0111
      @kevin0111 3 місяці тому

      @@trwilkinson4623 it’s coming from front of the machine near the fan, they are sending me out a replacement part. I might of forgotten to turn the bleeder open. I’ll have to recheck it today.

    SO I don't know if you will answer this but here goes, I bought an electric splitter from amazon 6.5 ton and I am unable to get it to split wood . When I try to split wood the hydraulic arm brings the wood in contact with the wedge but is stops .The arm will go back to the start position and the wood doesn't even have a mark on it. Any Ideas why?

    • @joesoutdoorexperience
      @joesoutdoorexperience  7 місяців тому

      Good afternoon Gldead, I’m not to sure but I can try and help.
      1) do you have/ or did you bleed the air out of the hydraulic system? If you have the same splitter is stated to do so before trying to split wood, if not done it could break a gasket.
      2) If you have the same model/brand, are you holding both buttons down at the same time the whole time?
      I’m not sure if this helps, this is the first electric splitter I have ever used.
      Please let me know if this helps at all!
      Joe

      Suggest you check the hydraulic fluid level, may need topped up. Most use SAE 22 hydraulic fluid.
      If when the pusher head contacts log & wedge, you hear a whooshing noise, it suggests lack of fluid.
      If still not working after bleeding the system, maybe the pressure relief valve is stuck or set up wrong.
      Another possibility is that the control lever is not fully engaging the valve spindle..
      Hope you get your tool working well.

    The motor sounds like it's slow to start up. Listen to some of the other videos with similar machines.

      Hi Robert good afternoon,
      No it was totally my fault, I was getting used to how to operate the machine. I kept lifting my hand off the green button that runs the motor.
