Today I'm doing the farm chores all alone. Saundra is out.
And yes, we do watch Pete at “Just A Few Acres Farm”

I'm not a farmer, but smart enough to know that you probably know what's best for your situation. Ears open mouth closed seems to work the best. Thanks for sharing
“Eyes open and mouth shut” is a long lost art no longer taught. At least ever since the skinny jeans soy latte people evolved
Love the skinny jeans comment of the video! lol! You gotta love people that think they need to correct others, because they think they know it all and that their way is the only way…
I also love the logic that just because he mentioned someone's name that that means he has to do it that person's way.
Sending Sandra hope and prayers for a speedy recovery. I live in Montana by Yellowstone National park and work on an Equestrian Ranch. If I was closer I would totally volunteer to help ya’ll out while Sandra is convalescing. I love your channel. Your values, compassion and hard work are admirable. Thank you. 🙂👍✨
Get well wishes for Saundra. Have plantar problems myself and people don't realize what pain can be from just normal walking much less unlevel ground. God Bless you both and keep you well.
Love the skinny jeans segment! Praying for a quick recovery for Saundra!
Praying for a speedy recovery for Sandra! Love what ya’all are doing, keep it up!
I love the "skinny Jean comment of the day" segment! Please keep doing those! 😂 They're all experts, but none of them actually do the work.
Me too. Please.
God bless you and your beautiful wife Sandra.
Praying for you Sandra.
Feel better soon.
🙋🏻♀️🇺🇸❤️
Sandra has such a sweet spirit about her. Big fan of hers and I will be praying for her foot. God bless you guys and more of the Skinny Jeans Comments segment.... :)
Speedy recovery Saundra! I can’t stand comments that are unproductive. Wish I were closer, I’d offer a hand! Love your piglets and baby chicks! Keep up the good work. 🐥🐖
Prayers for Sandra speedy recovery
Loved the " Bar is closed " comment. 😊 Hope Sandra gets well soon.
You need to keep the Skinny Jeans comment Of The Day segment!
I really love your channel by the way!
Bless your heart Sondra, that is a painful slow healing injury so don't rush it. Skinny Jeans comments are the best!
I'm glad Sandra, isn't hurt to bad. As for the hatchery you did the right thing!
I just wanted to say how beautiful Saundra is. I hope your foot heals quickly ❤
Our problem was the post office. They drove all over town with them in the truck before delivering them to our local feed store. He said chickens weren’t his problem! Our local store lost at least a thousand chicks on delivery and many died within 48 hrs because of the cold.
Good luck with the new batch! Saundra please feel better soon!❤❤❤
You guys are great! Skinny jean comment of the day has me 😂😂😂!
Praying for Sandra to heal fast! 🙏🏻
Your “Skinny Jeans Comment “ is so appropriate!!! Farming is hard work and stressful. Hope the wife gets better soon!!!
Love your video, always a joy to watch!
Speedy recovery to Sandra's foot.
I vote “YES” on the skinny jeans quote of the day. Also I believe that the Swine Rodeo Queen actually had a training injury and with the upcoming season she may not want to show weakness. Please, please, PLEASE keep her safe. My money this year is on her!
Good healing to Saundra! Hang in there Chuck!
Hello Chuck and Saundra, I love watching you two with everyday farm life. Great practical living. Now 78 and 79 we have been farming or homesteading for 61 years now. Keep up the good work💕
Aww Sandra that is awful I hope your foot heals fast ❤❤❤❤❤
Hope you feel better Sandra
I hate that Saundra is hurt. Get well soon. Love the skinny jean segment lol. Some people have to be smart a****. I love your farm and all the love you put in it
I’ve enjoyed the videos and hope Sandra gets better soon. I like the coop for the laying hens I saw in this video; wanting to add; actually expand egg production on our place. Have you done a video showing your coop and how you built it? I’m in central Michigan. Thanks
Oh Lordy, Saundra...wishing you a quick recovery. I know you must be in quite a bit of pain. I've had some injuries myself over the last year and know how hard it is to get chores done when that happens. Please reach out to me if you guys need any farm chore help. I'm just 2 hrs away in Black Mountain. Heirloom Annie Farms. God be with you both.
You might check your neighbors if any of their younguns might want to make some extra money, helping out. Sending Healing Prayers for the missus!
🙏🏻💪🙏🏻
Wow,very expensive food bill for your pigs
Prayers for Sondra a speedy recovery!! It would be great for you to have an intelligent and knowledgeable conversation with”Skinny Jean” people, if they had intelligent and knowledgeable ones!! Love your videos!! So informative!!
We’ve used Freedom Ranger hatchery with great success. We’ve also used Myers hatchery with no problems, Turkeys and chickens.
Love your videos. They’re inspiring. Keep em coming!
:)
That guy is an armchair quarter back. I am new around here, but I like this "skinny jean comment of the day" segment! There are always those, and you might remember these commercials from back in the day, who fit this bill: "I'm not a surgeon but I stayed in a Holiday Inn last night so I can operate on you". I am enjoying your videos, and hope that Saundra is OK.
Love your channel, thanks for sharing your farm with us.
Hello great videos yall make. Love watching yall videos. I hope she feels better soon. Miss seeing her out on the farm with you. Have yall ever thought about getting a large feed been to store feed in and put somewhere on the farm to help yall feed the animals.
Have you all looked into the delivery routes' lengths between the two hatcheries? Maybe the travel time is longer than what the chicks cold tolerance can handle.
I had issues with hoover in the past and results never changed. We use meyer hatchery and have had excellent results! Big healthy birds with little to no deaths, customer service is excellent and very responsive with any issues.
Just the oppiste here. Myers sent pathetic batches all last summer to me. Never again. Currently got 79 out of 81 at 3weeks from Hoover going strong.
Perhaps unusual question for you. Would you ever entertain volunteer workers to visit see the farm and help you with the place? Sounds like you need some extra hands. I make a spring trip down in NC to catch some college & minor league baseball every year and will be traveling down that way. How would I best reach out to you to discuss further (if you are at all interested, of course)
Your property is so beautiful ❤❤❤❤
'stupid geese" hahaha amen used to have canadian geese land at my families pond and they would be so aggressive ha
Suggestion: Put long hooks on those crutches, so she can carry feed buckets. Foot problems not any fun, just take care and don't over due. Praying for a quick recovery.
🙏 speedy recovery Saundra 👍💥
God bless you.
Where do you get your heat lamps that are in the brooder? Can't seem to find them online.
Might be how far away Hoover is compared to FRH. FRH to you is about 7.5 hours, but Hoover to you is about 15.5 hours. No telling how much jostling and temp fluctuations those chicks have been though.
When I ordered form McMurray (also Iowa) to FL they had a 17 hour ride and we had many deaths. When we ordered from Cackle to our home now- both us and Cackle are in Missouri- not a single death
Sondra will be in my prayers for speedy and complete healing 🙏 Question? If/when that broody hen hatches those eggs, how will the chicks get down?
Saundra, you're in my prayers!
We use The chick hatchery. We got 156 and lost, and that was in January
Lost 16
#1 I LOVE the skinny jean comment of the day! Keep doing them! 🤣
#2 I think you need a shirt that says STUPID GEESE on the front and your logo on the back! ❤
Thanks for the video Chuck.
Chuck, I'll tell you the truth, if I lived a little closer, I'd be glad to help on the farm anytime you needed it, looks like things are beginning to green up around there, you're probably not going to need much more hay this year, looking forward to seeing you the first of May in Clemmons
I think you were very smart with your decision on switching where you get your chicks for the time being. I hope Shondra gets to feeling better. I hope I spelled her name right. Take care.
Hope she’s better soon.
Hard to keep a good woman down! At least that’s how I look at it, most women do way more than most people can even imagine and usually while doing two or three other full time jobs at the same time. I hope her foot heals quickly and that she’s careful to listen to the doc and what they advise. God bless and I like your skinny jean comment. Totally cracked me up! I can sooo envision that person too! 😂❤🥰🙏🏻🇨🇦🍁
Enjoyed the video. Keep them coming.
👍. The reading of comments will be good lol
Get well soon Saundra.
I sure hope Sandra feels better soon. I’ve never had problems with what she’s dealing with but my youngest son did and it was no fun at all. He’s a workhorse too. Just like his Daddy was. We lost him to brain cancer four years ago. After three brain surgeries in two years to remove tumors he had nothing left within him to fight with. But he did fight hard. After his first surgery he lost his speech. He quickly started speech therapy which was a very slow process. Then he was paralyzed on his right side after that third surgery. This man wanted to live so badly bc our youngest son got married during his illness. He wanted to be around to meet future grandchildren. They just weren’t ready to start a family since they had just married. Up til then we had only had two grandsons. Since his death we now have two granddaughters who he would have been ecstatic about since we had three sons and two grandsons. We also have two more grandsons. Needless to say our boys got busy! Hug your spouse and tell them that you love them EVERY day! We never know when!
Saundra, give me a call. I have the number of a good workers comp lawyer. 😅 Chuck, take care of her! Get better soon girl!
Oh my word, the skinny jeans is hilarious 🤣… you know the skinny jeans trolls are going to be out in force 😂… get well soon boss lady ❤
Skinny-jean people never know when to simply hush up and move on.
The rest of us will continue to follow you with appreciation and positive comments, God willing.
Prayers for Sondra's full and quick recovery.
That's one thing about Farming you work from 🌄 up too 🌅 down. There is no time clock, that Rooster 🐓will tell you if your late.
I like your cows and calefs and bulls and pigs and chickens 🐔 and 🐷🐷🐷🐄🐄🐄🐄
😂😂 love the new skinny jean comment feature!
Hope you are better soon, Saundra. I'm sure sitting on the porch gets old real quick!
Get n it done figuring out is farm life .
I'll come over and help! Just ask Miss Saundra to cook me up one of them chicken dinners of hers!
I think your skinny Jean guy is one of these new city “homesteader” that has $750k in their setup and knows all but doesn’t get dirty and bought everything and never worked for it.
Glad she’s doing well planter fasciitis sucks and anything related to that. Got a pretty view to sip her coffee and watch you work Chuck! Between the pig ride and now the foot the woman needs a break! lol
I love your rotation system but how do you water them?
So happy for u that the newest chicks r doing well. Those geese! certainly guard geese! would it help if u stopped to make friends/pets of them all? "Skinny Jeans" - thank you for not using the name "Karen'! (my name!) much appreciated! Praying for Sondra and her poor foot! No fun being out of commision - sorry I'm too for away for anything more than a prayer which we'll b sure to say for you both! Thanks for sharing!
You dont think about it usually while working, but spraying that chicken waterer next to the dog waterer increases the risk of feces based illness to the dog. Micro splatter should be considered. Great video!
Sir in the current events around the world & America letting things continue your internal gut feelings are more than right I'm outside your box but as a former CAPT USAF "fighters" I'm talking instinct mothers always seem to know things fighter pilots have it also in battle spiritual wars are happening you've brought up the chick thing these corporations have got ,some how must be involved behind the scenes.! COUNTRY FOLKS Will SURVIVE,GOD BLESS YOU and your family
Ha ha ha ha ha. Love that skinny Jean comment.
thx
The new chicks look so good! And big! They look healthier and act healthier. And you lost only one. Seems to be a better place to buy them. I enjoyed this video! Interesting and fun. Love the piggies and the chickens! Nice eggs, beautiful colors!
Stupid Geese! Haha! When I would take my 4 year old daughter to the park pond years ago to feed the ducks , the Stupid Geese, a BUNCH OF THEM, would come after us and try to nip at my daughter. They wouldn’t scare away and I had to pick up my daughter and run!
STUPID GEESE! We didn’t let them stop us though! ❤️
I hope Sandra feels better and ready to go soon❣️🥰
I like the skinny Jean comment idea❤❤❤❤❤
I was also going to ask you what is a good feed? I’m sure you probably get yours mixed but I was raising them to fatten them up to butcher. I’ve just got Rhode Island reds and Jersey giant but I’m gonna go to the Cornish cross and I was just wondering what kind of feed you all use
I’m glad you know me, so you wouldn’t call me a bun headed skinny jeans man. Tell Saundra to quit that Rodeoing on the farm
I LOVE THE SKINNY JEANS COMMENT OF THE DAY. KEEP THEM COMING. HAVE TO LOVE WAT HING KEYBOARD WARRIORS GET PUT IN THEIR PLACE
Heck just look at the name and you can tell the headspace there on the skinny jeans comment 1337 is *code* (couldn't think of a better name) for *leet* which of course is slang for 'elite.'
He thinks highly of himself :)
Then again, my homesteads name is Wytchwood and I'm not a witch LOL.
Sometimes help isn’t help. Do you have temporary, useful help available, for a price? Maybe some of us could spare a bit to get you over this hump? Maybe there’s someone near by, out of work, but with a great attitude to pay it forward? You fill a need that you don’t know you’re filling. We’ve got to get you through this….
I'm becoming a bigger believer in local, local, local
We need more "local" of everything. More small hatcheries, more slaughter plants, more fence builders etc
y'all could be a supplier of chicks for your region (you define "region").
Sell the cows and go into poultry biz.
Specialize in just 3 or 4 breeds of chickens & maybe turkeys.
Keep it manageable size.
I had no choice but to Like the video. It was on 666 and that had to change!
Keep the skinny jean comment of the day.
Stupid geese always have nothing to saw but are always talking.
Speedy recovery for Sandra.
I've got a 75 Cornish X order coming in mid April from that same hatchery. Curious to see how our loss rate is.
Oh no, hope you haven't done too much damage to your foot Saundra. ❤Chuck needs his better half to keep him safe from those "stupid Geese" 😂
Hope Sondra gets on the mend soon!
It’s always the simple things that get us hurt. My dad’s chiropractor use to tell me as a kid “I’ve put more back in from people brushing their teeth”. That didn’t make sense to me until later in life and hurt my back getting out of bed haha.
I an throw my back out just walking across the living room
What kind of gate on your electric fence that has looks like a frame
I think that comes from Primier 1 or Starkline
get well,luv ur channel
what hatchery did you get the 101/102 chicks from?
Hoovers in Iowa
ever consider look or advertise local for some to work in exchange for meat and eggs 🍳 or atleast partly exchange or possible share crop example maybe they not have ground or live in town and not able to have garden or have chickens share the in the work to be able to have garden or a chicken tractor to run chicken either meat or eggs laying or mix of both
or possible to raise a pig
You got a like from the skinny jean comment.
To the guy who made the snarky comment. If you saw what and when we grazed our humongous pastures way way out west here on the west coast, you’d say we were doing it all wrong probably too. But…. Betchya my check from selling my calves every year far exceeds yours. Cheers 🍻
Always one that got to say. Look at me look at me. Daddy..and the calf says don't bother me. It's supper time...and I bet the really story is. Momma put Chuck to work and that what happen to her foot..lol....be safe.
You should also include Karen comments...lol.
If yours are not Cornish what are they
I got a chicken question. What’s the best way to stop chickens from eating the rigs they’ve got shells plenty of feed what’s next?
Fake eggs in the nesting boxes!
Check it out if you've got the inclination. Works quite well.
✌️😁🍩
Definitely think that hatchery has either sick breading chickens or a illness is hitting those chick's at the hatchery, love the skinny jeans dog .
What kind of pigs are those?
Skinny jeans? Miniskirt I'm guessing.
