Ah, Scofield - memories of days long gone, when I was a lad and Scofield and dispensationalism were popular! But, apart from the notes, the references and indexes etc. were superb! So, I learned a lot by using my Scofield! This new edition does appear to be an excellent production. I agree that the index headings could be repeated at the top of each page; but I quite like the maps - they have a sort of dreamy appearance of yesteryear! As ever, thanks for your excellent review, Randy!
That's a really handsome volume. I'm not too much of a fan of it being a square shape, but they've done a really good job differentiating this edition from other editions. And I can't stress enough how much I love those maps (Randy didn't like them but I love them). THAT'S how you do redesigned maps! Wow, I love that approach that they took. Randy characterized it well: it looks like old maps that have been touched up. All in all, it looks like a vintage Bible that was discovered new old stock. A really nice release.
I'd be interested to see a bible of theirs if it was just a plain KJV without the Scofield notes. Though they appear to only do Scofields, KJV-Darby parallels and English-Nepali diglots.
Thank you for reviewing this, I love the Scofield Bible and am interested in this edition. I will likely order a hardcover (my preference anyway - durable and affordable!). I do wish they would have used the maps from the Old Scofield rather than these but it's a minor quibble in my mind.
In your opinion, which Scofield reads easier? The KJV store goat skin edition? The KJV Store lambskin edition with the 11 point font? Or this edition? I like this layout of the Bible you reviewed but my concern is the font. Though some fonts read larger, for instance, like the Concord reference Bible
The 11-point is the easiest to read. It's close between the regular edition and this one. Between those two, I prefer this one because of the extra space in the text. It's not as tight.
Looks nice- I like the margins. Any good double column wide margin bibles? (Non study Bible)I can’t seem to find ones that have equal margin on both sides!
Unfortunately, there aren't many options. Here are those that come to mind: Cambridge Concord RL Allan Brevier Clarendon Schuyler Canterbury Hendrickson Large Print WM Bearing Precious Seed WM I've reviewed all these except the BPS. I've heard it has thin paper, but it does look good for the price.
The TBS Westminster is now being printed in Belarus by Printcorp/ World wide printing. I own both the large print and the regular size and honestly they are both very good.
@@Tucauppercut Given that they moved the Royal Ruby from Printcorp to Olivotto (perhaps because of the present hostilities in the region *cough*), I wonder if they've moved the Westminster to Olivotto as well.
I need some help, I’m 16 and I have a large print nkjv. I’m looking for a nkjv bible that’s smaller like a personal size or compact. Can you do a comparison size of compact bible and personal Bible size please?
I strongly recommend not buying a Scofield Bible. Its teachings are considered incorrect by many traditional Christians. For example, the idea of the Rapture, as taught by dispensationalism, isn't accepted by everyone and can be seen as a misinterpretation of the Bible. Look into the history and impact of the Scofield Bible, and you'll find many inconsistencies. It's better to choose other Bible versions and study aids that stick closer to traditional Christian beliefs.. God Bless
So mine is called a "Scofield Reference Bible" what is the difference between a "Scofield Reference Bible" and a Scofield Study Bible"? Also hoping I can find a Scofield Large or Giant Print Bible.

My favorite wide margin is the Cambridge Concord wide margin. The others are also good, including the BPS.

Hi. They're the same. Some companies call them by different names because the name is copyrighted. The KJV Store has it in large print.

Paper too thin, print too small, and no red letter. Other than that, it's a nice Bible. :)
To me, no red letter is a good thing.
