Andreas Pereira On Why Di Maria Failed At Manchester United 🤔
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 жов 2024
- Andreas Pereira talks about former Manchester United teammate Angel Di Maria's transfer to the club in 2014 and why he did not reach the expectations there after great success at Real Madrid for the previous 5 years. Pereira mentions Di Marias wonder chip against Leicester and how when he first arrived he had high hopes. #shorts #football #soccer #sports #manchesterunited #realmadrid #dimaria #premierleague #epl

Every elite club refinances their gym/technology Every 4-5 seasons (Real Madrid Every 3).
It's easy to imagine what United training sessions and preparations are like.. This just shows you how great a Manager SAF was, even Mourinho..

That's not true.. Gyms with technology vary in many ways..

Saying Di Maria couldn't handle the pressure after just winning la decima is ridiculous. United is just horribly managed after Sir Alex.
It sounds like the team was expecting him to win the league for them by himself. I think that's the pressure. Whereas at Madrid you have other great teammates to help win the trophies. United are still expecting to get a CR7 type player that can do everything on his own. That happens once in a lifetime.
CR7 himself couldn't save them. Also, he always had great teammates and so did messi. It seems to me like what they're asking is impossible
@@louayyahyaoui3616 agree, that's why all these players fail. They need more than one world class player to be successful, but they think all they need is one and the rest can be average. Not working.
Plus he wanted to play for PSG, not man u. The only reason they couldnt buy him that season is because of the financial fair play, which PSG had exceed that season @@jimjones3287
Don't get me wrong, I think Di Maria is an underrated player but it's a game when you're the main man. At Madrid, you can fadeaway for a couple of games, they won 3 Champions League's in a row soon after he left so it wasn't like he was missed
Di Maria was amazing until his house was burgled with his family in. After that he was desperate to leave and totally threw the towel in. I don’t blame him.
Happened to plenty of PL players, Reece James, Sterling, Isak, Grealish just off the top of my head.... 2 of them are UCL winners, two PL winners, a treble winner and a very talented player in Isak.
People like you make me laugh, some players just can't hack the PL and he was one of many.
Some successful players who came from abroad just can't hack it the PL. Forlan, Brolin, Kezman, Shevchenko, Veron etc. All had success abroad, all have good resumes but ALL flopped in England.
@@davidstephenson164 he was unreal until this incident then his family left and he wanted to leave Manchester asap. Did everything he could to make the club sell him.
It’s not often Man United don’t cling onto an expensive signing…in fact Di Maria is the only example.
Why have you mentioned the “UCL winners” James and Grealish were both burgled AFTER winning a UCL medal….but you seem to imply that they overcame adversity of a burglary and won the Champions League. Quite embarrassing really 😂 I’d be deleting that quicksmart.
It’s nothing to do with their form but let’s assess it anyway. Since being burgled Reece James has hardly played football. Since being burgled Sterling has lost all form and even his place in the England squad. Since being burgled Grealish has been on the periphery of the first team for Man City. So yeah, these are moot points but they do make you look really really stupid.
@@lozcontreras Couldn't hack the PL kid, it happens. Reece was quality the following season, his numbers as well as his defensive ability. Yeah he's effectively been on the sick for 2 years but that isn't related to form you cIown.
I'd argue Sterling has had patches of form since then, he's been playing in a side crippled by injury, awful ownership, awful management and terrible form for the best part of 2 years.

Wrong manager, wrong team, wrong time Dì Maria was a special player.
Van Gaal played defensive slow international ball. He tried to put Di Maria, a winger, into his 5-3-2 formation.
Man united have been a grave yard for all the superstars and young talented players after the departures of Ferguson for unknown reason.
because of the pressure..... there isnt a bigger club, and there is still pressure for the next superstar to carry this team to win the prem.... imagine trying to do that with mctominay on your team XD

Di Maria not handling pressure lol. He failed because that club itself is the definition of failure. The guy played for biggest club in the world and performed. The guy scored in every single final for Argentina he played in. He is one of the clutch player of this generation and saying he couldnt handle pressure is the most dumbest thing I have heard.
But yeah lot of players can not take the pressure specially when moving to bigger club which wasnt case for Di Maria.

He got injured in both so it's kinda like saying "KDB didn't assist in the UCL finals he's played in" whilst it's factually correct, you need the context to understand why. If Di Maria had played long enough in the finals against Chile then he'd have scored @@jamesnite2157
@@jamesnite2157 Did he play in the finals you mentioned?
Van Gaal had awful tactics and very strict rules. He did not allow the best players to play in their own way. Simple.
He did well with the young guys.
True. I admire Ancelloti and he easily manages big egos. If Van Gaal was flexible, we would be top tier now.
With a few tweaks, he would have succeeded at United.
Not true. You have to play as a team. Real is under Ancelotti is successful because the play as a team and wingers and strikers defend as far back as their own sixteen.
Di Maria offensive game is world class, but he doesn’t make much effort if the opposing team is on the attack especially after he came to Man U and later PSG.
Had nothing to do with tactics. Di Maria played lw,rw,and even Cm the season prior and even in Madrid he had a tedious role most of the time covering up for bale and CR

The man who thrived in Real Madrid and won a UCL final, scored in the World Cup final for Argentina can't perform because of United's pressure. BS. Maybe England wasn't for him, but United is a toxic club

Everybody can perform in Real Madrid. But the pressure you feel when playing for the 8th best team in England is on another level
Putting Di Maria under Van Gaal is like trying to insert a cylindrical peg in a triangular hole.
What pressure? There was no pressure for Di Maria. The only pressure was worrying about your family's safety. Di Maria wasn't pressured about wearing the number 7.

Us fans have a major role to play in the clubs success. We can either motivate and SUPPORT the players by getting behind them and ENCOURAGE them through bad times OR, as what you see nowadays, most fans choose to slander, abuse and hate on players if they are going through a rough patch. This will never help the player or team and always has a negative affect. Fans need to realise this.

Di Maria didn’t fail (it’s a weird myth) - he put up mad numbers, and was one of the best midfielders in the league that year
Completely agree. Didn't help that he had a manager whose style clashed with how he played. He became a fall guy but there were plenty of other players who deserved more of the blame
yes!! ive been saying this for years, i dont know how people believe lie when the numbers are there
@@lawosluka7234 Cause we watched the games? Its not a weird myth at all
WTH? It's not only us, it's his teammate telling that he's failed, maybe he lived and shared the pitch with him, so he knows a thing or two? Numbers don't tell the whole story, DiMaria was a disappointment, and people were always saying that back then. Not bad, but not good either, for the impact he should have had. And he clearly didn't like to play at ManUtd himself
For Man Utd players, it's not them adapting to the Premier League, it's Man Utd. So many players there just get ruined by them.
United supporter here, and I sadly have to agree. Utd have no vision
Well this explains a lot watching an older player come through because even his self didnt learn anything
United is the problem
Probably my favourite signing the last 10yrs
Was so excited to watch him every game and Falcao was the player I wanted to succeed so badly. If they joined straight after SAF, it's a different story. They joined when the team was rebuilding. Not to mention Falcao was coming back from a really bad injury
Came from a great season at Madrid and a World Cup that cemented him as one of the best in the world.
It’s a shame it didn’t work out at United but he went on to PSG and continued to be a vital piece in Argentina’s team. One of the most memorable players of a generation. Big name big personally.
No fault to him but he owned the 2022 WC final. After he was taken off France grew into the game. He gave it all he could when he was out there but Leo and Martinez were there to carry on.
And some very favourable referee decisions in the final too but let's not talk about that.
United is poorly managed from top to bottom. This summer will reveal whether the club is serious about change or if the same issues will persist.
Will forever be a shite club now
Man U is there grave of great careers and legends
Di Maria was absolutely amazing when he arrived. I dont think the epl liked him much cause he was immediately injured and never really recovered at man u.
I’ve never blamed Di Maria for not succeeding at United… we forget that players are also people and things affect them just as much as they affect us.
Man came from Real Madrid, always deliver in big moments and I believe if he wasn’t injured Argentina would won the final against Germany. Pressure 😂😂😂
To be fair when Di Maria came in they wanted him to replace RVP with goals and that was never going to happen. You’re asking Chris Paul to score it was destined to fail. He needed a target man.
Memba seh a one burnerrrr mi turnnnnnn one B to A g from now on dat a code 🎯
Right. The pressure at united is worse than the pressure on REAL FUCKING MADRID.
Santiago bernabeu. Literally the stadium that BOOS CR7 when he plays bad. Fucking cr7.
Literally the only club in the world that goes into full panic mode and acts like they got relegated when they placed second.

Tbh, who has succeeded at Man U since SAF left... ? Man U have had AMAZING players since SAF left but have shown nothing of substance.
I don't blame the world class players they get
Bruno, licha , shaw , pogba ,ibrahimovic, matic, ander, they all are crucial player for united . Pogba at United better than when him at Juve, shaw have injuries problem but overall he's very important player for united, and maybe players like dalot, amad , de ligt ,mazraoui, ugarte and casemiro are good bussiness for united too
@@talagmoako8132
My Friend, juve made Pogba what he was after Man U failed to unlock him. He went to juve won the league many times in a row, got to the UCL final. Pogba at Juve was arguably the best midfielder in the world, at Man U you kept forcing him to play CDM which he didn't Like (that was the beef with Mourinho)
Let us see what you're calling success and see if it's enough to build a competitive team today.
Zlatan, Matic, - Good but VERY TEMPORARY measures couldn't build long term with them.
Shaw - constantly injured, what a successful career he's having. Which world-class team wants him. Keep him.
Ander- Don't even know who that is or if any top 5 club in England would want him.
The rest are world class to you guys, what team competing for UCL and league titles would want those guys
Bruno is the only one, and he will, like de gea become the villain because your club has had no real ambition. It's a toxic place for world class players
Mainoo and Nacho scored in the FA Cup Final.
Maybe Man U should build through the Academy instead of name chasing.
Di maria was unbelievable
United have made 3 domestic cup finals in two seasons tbf. I think the manager should go at the end of this season, but I can see why some fans would want him to stay based on that stat alone
That's why Messi did the ✋️😠🤚 to Van Gaal for Riquelme AND di Maria
Di Maria did well. The problem was the team itself : Di Maria, Rooney, Van Persie, Falcao, Juan Mata, the strikers and playmakers were top tier but they couldn’t all play together. And the midfield and defense wasn’t at the same level.
It's still the same problems now except we also have much worse forwards
All those mentioned were past their best.
Di Maria didn't like the rain.
He was playing lwb I remember vividly. And Daley blind was our lcb at the time. Van gaal was mad can’t believe he was our coach 😂😂
With Di maria there is a lot of things that went wrong. His family was unsettled, he only came for the high wages, manchester is a huge change from Madrid, there wasn't a chance for him to gain consistency- one game he played lw then the next rw the next cam and at the start he even played in a double pivot in a 3412, not to mention his house got robbed. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong
It's extremely difficult playing for ANY top club.
His overall stats were actually decent that season, knowing the quality of the player, he would've definitely succeeded at United if they kept him for longer.
"Di maria couldn't handle the pressure at United" meanwhile Di Maria arrived from Madrid, where they just won UCL by scoring at 94th minute & he was the Man of the Match for Final 😂
Van Gaal and him were a bad match....
When they leave there brilliant
"it's difficult to play the 7" 🥶🥶🥶
This narrative needs to stop about pressure. Van Gaals disciplined tactics didn’t suit a free flowing player like di María simple as that
LVG put the shackles on him and it didn't suit him at all.
bro legit just said idk what happened
hardly an explanation
The same argument you used to not put in KDB, Rodri and Salah is the same we would use to not put in VVD
United are cursed. They just had the worst start to a season in their history.
Facts man untied are shit sir Alex had the players in check and made sure he got the best out of them
Mason Mount wearing the 7 shirt should be considered a crime.
Saw a tv programme and he spoke about this, his wife was very unhappy in manchester pre robbery even, she said the shopping was awful etc - off back to sunshine they went
The main reason is his heart wasnt in it. He always wanted to go PSG. The problem was PSG didn't stump up the 60m Real wanted so they accepted Uniteds bid. Funny how he ended up at PSG a year later on a lower fee? For anyone who.disagrees go check the news back in 2014 Summer
Ronaldo was the last teenager to score in an fa cup final. Garnacho and mainoo replicated it.
I don't want anyone to ever disrespect Bruno ever again after this
Garry birtles and Ralph Milne. Couldn’t handle it too. MUFC♥️🤍🖤 Stretford reds. 😂😂😂
I don't why people think United is big club nowadays and talking about the pressure and stuffs... Let's be real United is just a mid table club after SAF left...And ya Di Maria man of Final and you questioned Him😂😂
Di maria fell apart after those masked robbers attacked his house with his wife and kids and they moved out and lived in a hotel and then his wife fell sick with a mental illness and that was it . Thats why he refused to come back after leaving England with his family .
He never failed at united he was playing well he just didn't want to stay at this club
The thing with Di Maria is that he's a v inconsistent player who's capable of genius. The man can put it in the top corner, break the best defenders' hip or drop elite assits, and still lose many balls during the same game due to faulty controls or bad passing. Because football is a low score game, a genius assist or goal is more important than 5 missed controls, so Di Maria has had a great career. But still, in a big team, you need your star player to be consistent because you'll be trying to play every ball to him. Di Maria has played better when another player is the team star and gets every ball (Ronaldo in RM, Messi in the NT and Neymar in PSG). In those teams, Di Maria can play support and wait for his moment, instead of trying to force it every minute of every game.
from teh documentary the manger was critizing him even tho he scored and assisted soo understable
coach was van gaal... couple days ago di maria actually said that the worst coach, without a doubt, that he ever had, was van gaal xDDDDD
Di Maria is an underrated goat 🐐 winger. He made 10 assists that season. Man Utd will never win another title after Sir Alex because of their management. Always replacing players and coaches and not giving them a 2nd chance to prove their worth.
It’s a special shirt that requires a special mentality
Perfect example about United. Whatever you mismanage you will lose.
The crown lies heavy at UTD.
I remember he said he really hated Manchester United
They also moved him around the pitch too much. Hes a winger, through and through, and van gaal moved him to striker, attacking midi, etc. they did a lot of stupid positional crap with di maria.
Tbf we were playing defensive counter attacking football which didn't suit Di Maria.
Di Maria didn’t fail at United. I don’t know why people believe that. He put up really good numbers at United in his first season. The problem was Manchester United
Andreas Pereira saying Di Maria could not handle the pressure at United 😂😂
To have ADM at your club and mismanage him so hard so he looks like he’s not there is an achievement of a lifetime. Not in a good way. Incredible.
He hated manchester after his house got robbed, he was never the same
When they had the burglary in England. He was never the same
Pretty clear that the issue with Di Maria at United is that he loathed living in Manchester; didn't seem to have much to do with Football really.
His wife and he hated the city, the weather, the people, and then to top it off his home was attacked; no wonder he was adamant about leaving for Paris then
Thanks MU, je became a PSG Legend.

What happens is we lost that game away to Leicester and van gaal lost his bottle and started going defensive and dropping di maria for ashley young
United need Ancelotti
Please don't ruin Carletto too 😢
He a robin not a Batman. Every team he played for he was a robin.
Man Utd has become a talent black hole. Nobody is spared.
The actual reason: van Gaal💀
United curse. Always make the world class players look like amateur
If you and your family can't settle in a city, its never gonna work. He went paris and his family were happy there.
Even Cristiano Ronaldo after coming back couldn't handle the pressure of no.7 himself..so the pressure is real for sure
Are you for real or just trolling? Ronaldo looked around and saw the club had not moved forward since 2008. He just said ‘eff this. I’m out’.
Bro just wasn't the same after leaving Real Madrid. I know he won a World Cup but club team wise, we don't see or hear a thing from him from when he was in United until Juventus. Selling him for Gareth Bale is not worth much, and it has been my opinion since 2014.
hes not fail...the others just cant follow up his talent
He never wanted to be there in the first place. Tht was the problem.
DI MARIA 👍👍👍
I’m sure the thing with his family was most of the pressure
It’s not pressure for playing for Man Utd at all (especially coming from a lot of better top teams) it’s the fact they get paid obscene money from desperate owners to join them thinking it will be a quick fix by signing top players with big reps and then these lot relax as they realise they can mess around the weak managers that the Glazers employ and they want to relax on big contracts after playing to high level for a top team for so long. Fergie would never have let players have all this power over him and the club, Moureen was the only one who was of that ilk and tried to rid them of lazy players like Marrial and Pogba etc but guess what he was overruled by the Glazers who think they know better and don’t want to sell an expensive “asset” on the cheap but eventually they have to sell them cheap or for free! And so the saga continues every season! They only let Ronaldo go the second time for undermining the manager as ETH was making improvements and the team was showing signs of challenging for trophies again, he also wanted to get rid of players that undermined his authority but most of them end up staying over the manager. Sancho Antony Martial and Depay etc had something to prove being young tho but they ended up relaxing too as they received the money before earning it at Man Utd and saw the lazy big players around them and thought yeah this is more fun!
Nothing to do with getting robbed and it was proved when his family got robbed AT GUN POINT at psg…. He didn’t leave so yh horrible thing to happen especially in front of his girls but let’s not use that fucking excuse for why he left England
It’s not difficult. Management intentionally make it impossible to do well that’s what it is.
He did not really want to play for Man Utd. If he did, then he would have been able to get past the incident with his family. But that was the end of him. Don't buy players who don't really want to play for the team.
