Hi...I am trying to use different CSS files for different browsers using Javascript. When a web page is loaded onto a particular browser, the right CSS file is loaded accordingly. I did a research on this and found this script ; although it didn't work. It failed to load the CSS file at all, and displayed the web page as HTML only. I don't know why. Hey there, as you've probably seen online, in most cases it probably isn't necessary to load different stylesheets for different browsers. Most browsers support all the standard CSS rules across the board now, including IE11. If you really want to load different stylesheets, try replacing your "browser == ..." line with the String search() method, learn more here: ua-cam.com/video/JirLkboYAEo/v-deo.html If that doesn't work for you, try the @supports in your CSS code
Actually one CSS file that look good for one browser doesn't look good for another browser or several browsers. So I have to change the CSS. Make several CSS files and tailored that to fit the respective browsers.
That's fair enough, I recommend using a regular expression on the navigator.appName String to ensure you get the correct browser, that way you're not checking for the "exact" name of the browser but rather at least a part of it

You're not doing it the proper way. There is an API for this. The event listener function can have a parameter 'event' which you can then extract the selected file from by typing: event.target.files[0]. Then, if you console.log this, you'll see all the properties for the file like the name, type, size, ...etc. If you select multiple files, then event.target.files will have them all.

Zarki You can as an image is just another HTML element so you could do the same thing but this time make a "fake" which triggers the real . Alternatively you can potentially set a background-image to the button using CSS :)

I want to make a system that makes the file pop on a particular page of my website but each users (no log in) have a limited amount of files and size sent per day, and so that after a certain amount of time the file is erased from the website. How do I do that? Thanks in advance, Shyvha
you could save their API address and the date variable of the file send than you use a library to call functions over time and each hour the function will be called and check all the files dates so it can delete the more than 24h one

hi dcode. great video on how to upload, now could you do a video how how to create a download button? the downlaod can be from a url or blob or stream from a servier.. seems like its 10x harder to do a download that is well supported. ive played around with using a form, createobjecturl.. but nothing where a large 100mb can be downloaded in the browser.

I believe you could use HTMLInputElement.files property instead of that whole regex thing and get also the lastModified, lastModifiedDate, size and type

Why not use split("\\") and grab last value instead of mach(). The file cant contain \ so all values will be separated in path and your file is always the last! No mether what is the name of the file... it doesnt care! 😎 like a boss let file = realFilebtn.value.split("\\") customText.innerHTML = file[file.length-1]

You're not doing it the proper way. There is an API for this. The event listener function can have a parameter 'event' which you can then extract the selected file from by typing: event.target.files[0]. Then, if you console.log this, you'll see all the properties for the file like the name, type, size, ...etc. If you select multiple files, then event.target.files will have them all.

Zarki You can as an image is just another HTML element so you could do the same thing but this time make a "fake" which triggers the real . Alternatively you can potentially set a background-image to the button using CSS :)
You can use an image, an svg or whatever html element do you want and add the event click to that tag you are using

you could save their API address and the date variable of the file send than you use a library to call functions over time and each hour the function will be called and check all the files dates so it can delete the more than 24h one

hi dcode. great video on how to upload, now could you do a video how how to create a download button? the downlaod can be from a url or blob or stream from a servier.. seems like its 10x harder to do a download that is well supported. ive played around with using a form, createobjecturl.. but nothing where a large 100mb can be downloaded in the browser.

Hi...I am trying to use different CSS files for different browsers using Javascript. When a web page is loaded onto a particular browser, the right CSS file is loaded accordingly. I did a research on this and found this script ; although it didn't work. It failed to load the CSS file at all, and displayed the web page as HTML only. I don't know why. Here is the script:

Why not use split("\\") and grab last value instead of mach(). The file cant contain \ so all values will be separated in path and your file is always the last! No mether what is the name of the file... it doesnt care! 😎 like a boss
