I shot the tactical this weekend. I currently use a Bushnell Elite E6241 mildot 6-24x. Two things I liked better on the Hawke. I love the 1/2 mildot reticle, they go all the way to the edge for more hold over room. Air guns need holdover room at 100 yards. 1. Reticle 2. Side focus vs objective focus. (easier to focus but more complex = more to break down) 3. 30mm tube overs more turret movement but comes at a price or more weight, scopes too heavy. Elite Advantages 1. Optics, glass are superior. Bright image edge to edge. Clearer image at all zoom levels. But the Hawke is not terrible its good enough for most people. 2. Weight - 17 oz vs 27 oz for the hawk. 3. Simple minimal design less to go wrong, will last longer. I wish my Elite had the 1/2 mildot reticle like the Hawke, and side focus. But the glass is so good on the Elite that I don't think I would trade for the Hawke even up.
I noticed at 2:41 sec into the video where your showing the turret adjustment that the turrets just turn without raising or lowering . how do you keep up with what rotation your on ? There is no way to know . What a stupid design .
Did you not notice the fact you have to lift the turret before turning and then have to lock it back down once you have finished adjusting? Once you are happy with your zero the scale on the turret can also be set back to zero. Excellent scopes for the money!
Does this scope have markings to let you know what rotation your on or not ? No it doesn't . Locking and unlocking the turrets doesn't have anything to do with knowing what rotation your on . If you don't have rotation markings your zero could be anywhere because the turret just spins and you have to shoot to find it . All modern scopes made for air rifles have rotation markings except for this company . Your comment makes no since at all.
Sorry i misread your comment. I see what you mean now. Do you think they might have skimped on that feature if the scopes were built around the SR reticles?
If you use your mildots and shoot within the mildots without using the turrets It fine but if you click to keep your crosshairs on target you can get lost with a air rifle because the number of turns you have to make . I think most people that use this scope on a air rifle set there zero and use the mildots and never adjust the turrets again . It is a cheap way of making a scope turret . You would think with the price they charge they would make it so you would know what rotation you are on .
