“Hey Beethoven, the start of the recapitulation in the eighth symphony doesn’t really emphasize the tonic chord.” “Don’t worry, I’ll fix that in my ninth symphony!”
You deserve way more subscribers, 500 is frankly ridiculous. Really liked your explanation, and also the editing and little jokes are really on point. Great work!
Are you from India? Amazing analysis of this difficult music. You are inspiring, but also correct, I love your videos, all of them. From Italy, with love. Wish you all the success you definetly deserve! Thanks !!!
I really enjoy your videos! I only discovered your channel relatively recently, and this one I particularly enjoyed. I will probably watch it over more than once. I would swear that Camille Saint-Saens was quoting the development section of the first movement of this symphony in his tone poem Danse Macabre. It seems obvious when I listen to it. I heard Danse Macabre every year around Halloween in my childhood, so I have been fairly familiar with it all my life, and only first heard Beethoven's 8th Symphony for the first time in my late 40s or early 50s. It just seems plain as day to me. I haven't been able to find any reference to a connection online. Maybe I will have to seek out some more scholarly work on Saint-Saens to find an answer. Any thoughts there?
Criminally underwatched, thank you for continuing to upload despite your lack of (deserved) views
