I’m a woman and this video really helped me. Everything contained in this video applies to women as well as men. Now I am headed to Rome, and dressed very smartly! Thank you so much for your fashion advice!🥰
Jon,..I think it's a Windsor knot. I generally just like the standard knot....but with this coat and shirt...man, the Windsor knot enhances the whole outfit...
I see you got that shoutout from Real men real style. Well deserved my brother. Kill them with the success. Great video and excellent lesson. I wish you were around 10+ years ago.
I am here from RMRS and let me tell you, I am not disappointed ! This is one cool channel OG. Thanks for sharing all these tips. And good wishes with your channel.
I was facing this exact issue last week when Allen Edmomds was doing it's factory seconds sale. Brown eventually won out because I already have 3 black dress shoes already. Great video
COMPLETELY agree with everything you said, Jeff. I would only add that brown has depth and character, can have burnishing, and develops patina over time (which I think are some of the reasons why you would agree it is more interesting.) And black is always... just plain black. Either way, your advice is ALWAYS reliable! And appreciated... and enjoyed.
I'm going to wear brown dress shoes with a light gray suit to my dad's funeral. Celebrating him, not mourning. Thanks for this video. I'm not sure what color shirt to wear yet though.
I got a 6 year old pair of black dress shoes that look brand new because they get no play. But my browns and oxblood are in regular rotation. Always get compliments on both.
Jeff Style O.G. as always you have nailed it hit it right out of the ballpark sir thanks for the very useful suggestions on brown vs black shoes....oh by the way just to let you know your youtube channel is getting some love from some other youtube fashion consultant colleagues they have highly recommended viewing your channel along with some other gentleman out there in this fantastic community "salute" to you on all the fine work you're doing!
Keep dropping the knowledge O.G. Keep on schooling them. I am starting to like the versatility of the brown shoes more lately, both as a dress up or casual look. I am still trying to find that perfect pair of oxblood shoes it's the only color that I don't have I am not sure which style to get them in .
I always end up putting one of each foot when i have to choose between brown and black shoes and black usually wins... And yet i keep buying more brown shoes lol. Great vid!
Well I own a black dress shoes... But I want to let everyone who does not have a black dress shoes know that even if u don't have one it's perfectly fine coz a brown dress shoes will be a better option n brown is way more versatile in every aspect. So don't worry abt buying a black one if u r on a budget, for others who want to build their collection I'd say go ahead. The video was really good.
I'm seeing a new trend of wearing Tan, Walnut, oxblood or light brown shoes with black slacks, white shirt and a light-colored tie, preferably a tie that matches the shoe.
I think the sole matters a lot too. Black soles are more formal while brown soles feel more casual. Not sure if I’m right or wrong but I think it’s more fitting to wear black soles regardless of the color of the leather usually
O.G. - could you please do a video on perfumes for men? I'm a Aqua di Gio lover but would like to explore more "fine perfumes". I just know you have just the right tips on perfumes too!! Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the tips! I was going to wear a forest green khakis pants with a white shirt and forest green strip tie. I was deciding weather to wear some black shoes or brown shoes.
I do think brown dress shoes, especially lighter shades of brown, can look a little more 'handsome' than just a pure black dress shoe. Of course, like he says in the video, black is more serious so sometimes you simply need to wear black dress shoes. I own both but I do think some leather double monk strap shoes with no show socks and some chino pants in a brown, khaki, or similar color rolled up one or two cuffs with a polo shirt can be a GREAT summer time look....but again, it would look more casual and it wouldn't look right with black double monk strap shoes since it's so casual, it really would need brown double monks.
I was a black shoe guy. Now I am a brown guy. But bought a black pair of chukka boats, very nice tick lether and I polished them and they are realy nice in daylight. Black or brown is a hard question. Maybe you should do 4 different shades of brown. Or black or dark brown.
A black pair was for those days a gentleman found himself in the city dealing with his broker, followed by a quiet afternoon at his Club - the brown pair was worn in the country, on his estate, out shooting with a pair of Holland & Holland guns...
I’m going to an engagement party and the style is Mocha. I want to do a brown jacket white shirt grey pants and brown dress shoes. I feel like off the video I could attempt black dress shoes with brown socks
Its black colour on less formal shoe like loafers is acceptable. I love this color with denim and work very good on me. But i know it's not recommended for more casual shoes
So I’m wearing a black suit, white shirt, solid champagne tie, gold watch& bracelet. Can I pull off the brown dress shoe? It’s for a family 15 party. Looking for something not so boring.
Always informative and easy to understand. Much success to you my brother. If you haven't already done so, I'm hoping you will do a segment on beard grooming and maintenance. I can definitely use help in that area
Jeff, In the video you are holding a more formal Oxford brown shoe. For everyday and jeans should I go with Derby style shoe? Does it matter with brown shoes?
Style OG Ive been trying to match some black oxfords with some gray dress pants with the black tuxedo stripe but can't seem to find any any suggestions? And by the way I love your show nothing but love and respect salute 💯
I don't know how I came across your channel but thank God I did. I know I'm late to the game but I have a question. I'm putting together a outfit for church the shirt is pink the pants are either deep navy or gray the tie matches either, so my question is what color shoe do I use gray, blue, brown, or black? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks Jeff. I was wondering exactly how much of an issue is skin or complexion undertone? I've seen that there's a whole new topic to consider when buying clothes. Can you cover this to give some help? I bought and wore a camel polo/turtle neck and it looked like I had 3-4 chins haha. I ended up taking it off... should always try items before buying and not take what looks good on someone else as being the choice! Lol... Yes your looking very smart!
Once again great advice OG. This ones kinda needed. If I can be a little honest, I’m still kinda new with incorporating the brown dress shoes into everyday wear. Also, do you shine your own shoes or have them done by someone else?
The most underrated Fashion UA-camr. I hope this channel cross million mark soon. All the best.
Thanks a lot Kobin!
I second this.
I second!
I’m a woman and this video really helped me. Everything contained in this video applies to women as well as men. Now I am headed to Rome, and dressed very smartly! Thank you so much for your fashion advice!🥰
Glad it was helpful!
I'm off topic again,....but the coat and tie...or maybe it's the tie knot, (not sure), but something about today's outfit is an A++.
Thanks Anthony !
Yes it's a nice outfit and I noticed the tie knot too - what knot is it?
Jon,..I think it's a Windsor knot. I generally just like the standard knot....but with this coat and shirt...man, the Windsor knot enhances the whole outfit...
Anthony Johnson
Understated balldness is allways cool.
I love that tie and that Windsor knot is boss.
I see you got that shoutout from Real men real style. Well deserved my brother. Kill them with the success. Great video and excellent lesson. I wish you were around 10+ years ago.
Thanks as always D!
This is hot my man. Keep rolling just like you're rolling. My already solid fashion sense is expanding. Thanks, bro!
Thanks Robert!
I am here from RMRS and let me tell you, I am not disappointed ! This is one cool channel OG. Thanks for sharing all these tips. And good wishes with your channel.
Appreciate it Logic!
Bruh you look fly as hell in that opening fit. Crushing it
Thanks James !
Very good advice, I tend to rock the browns because I have them in various styles, but the black cap toes on funerals and weddings
I was facing this exact issue last week when Allen Edmomds was doing it's factory seconds sale. Brown eventually won out because I already have 3 black dress shoes already. Great video
Brown shoes all day..
COMPLETELY agree with everything you said, Jeff. And black is always... just plain black. Either way, your advice is ALWAYS reliable! And appreciated... and enjoyed.
Thanks my G!
Agree even tough a brown well cared AE wing tip chestnut shoe, is probably the most stylish shoes I ever seen on a summer wedding.
Style OG...gives you the 411 with no fluff...straight to the point...I like that
I try David !
Thanks a lot for the tips O.G! I'd bought a brown pair.. Been using them for exactly what you just tipped us on
No problem!
Brown and black definitely go together.
I'm going to wear brown dress shoes with a light gray suit to my dad's funeral. Celebrating him, not mourning. Thanks for this video. I'm not sure what color shirt to wear yet though.
you got it Garth!
Great video. This is a common conundrum
I’m a brown shoe dude . Great video OG
Thanks Will!
This guy is relentless. Vid after vid non stop everyday. I like his consistency. It is better to spend more money on brown than black shoes it seems.
for sure!
Jeff, you break it down perfectly for me. I appreciate your OG style sense.
Salute!
This guy needs his own show. Great format.
why thank you Justin!
Good stuff, light tan, or cognac brown, would be a good topic to show a look book for.
I been binging on these videos. You got the best style channel on UA-cam. I am building my wardrobe slowly and this is helping me massively.

I got a 6 year old pair of black dress shoes that look brand new because they get no play. But my browns and oxblood are in regular rotation. Always get compliments on both.
Brown and oxblood are money !

Appreciate the input Nitin!
I'm seeing a new trend of wearing Tan, Walnut, oxblood or light brown shoes with black slacks, white shirt and a light-colored tie, preferably a tie that matches the shoe.
Black and brown don't mix. Grey and Brown do tho.
Thank you very much for saying in detail
Good guide for selecting the right color shoe.
Thanks Jimmy

Good, simple advice.

black loafers are fine, the style affects the formality as well as the color..
So I’m wearing a black suit, white shirt, solid champagne tie, gold watch& bracelet. Can I pull off the brown dress shoe? It’s for a family 15 party. Looking for something not so boring.
Great content! Question, what about a black dress shoe with a brown soul(say stacked leather)? Thanks!!
Always informative and easy to understand. Much success to you my brother. If you haven't already done so, I'm hoping you will do a segment on beard grooming and maintenance. I can definitely use help in that area
i have, check my archives
Great video!!! I’m getting into more colors of shoes. Which color should I start with? I’m thinking the blue Allen Edmonds Cornwallis
I have not been brave enough to grab a pair of blue shoes yet Bert!
I ordered the Cornwallis. I'm gonna have a blast wearing them this spring. Thanks for the advice!!!
I have all colors of shoes solids and combos, good job on your video's
Ted Williams that’s great. I think colored shoes adds to your personality. Now I don’t want yellow shoes, lol.

Do a video of how to style with black Air Force 1
I've always liked double monkstraps is there many ways to dress oxblood double monkstraps or is that not a good idea?
Jeff, In the video you are holding a more formal Oxford brown shoe. For everyday and jeans should I go with Derby style shoe? Does it matter with brown shoes?
Looking suave with the suit Jeff, peace.
Appreciate that Mike!
What's the black shoe company name that u r holding????
Good one! Like presentation easy to understand
Thanks!
Style OG Ive been trying to match some black oxfords with some gray dress pants with the black tuxedo stripe but can't seem to find any any suggestions? And by the way I love your show nothing but love and respect salute 💯

Can I wear a brown dress shoe with a pink shirt
Yes!
I wear light brown wingtip and black suit on wedding is this ok
I don't know how I came across your channel but thank God I did. I know I'm late to the game but I have a question. I'm putting together a outfit for church the shirt is pink the pants are either deep navy or gray the tie matches either, so my question is what color shoe do I use gray, blue, brown, or black? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
I would go with brown shoes Cornelius!
@@TheStyleOG Thanks a bunch I would chosen gray with the gray or blue with the blue, but the brown gave me a better prospective.
Thanks Jeff. I was wondering exactly how much of an issue is skin or complexion undertone? I've seen that there's a whole new topic to consider when buying clothes. Thanks Andrew!

When can a black and brown color go together in an outfit?
Thanks for this video! U saved me from making a fashion faux pas! Lol
No problem!
Once again great advice OG. This ones kinda needed. If I can be a little honest, I’m still kinda new with incorporating the brown dress shoes into everyday wear. Also, do you shine your own shoes or have them done by someone else?
I get them shined, I’m not that good at it..lol
Thank you,
