- On March 20th 2023, I took a walk from the Broken Bridge (Puente Roto) to the Ford Bridge (Puente de El Vado) along the Long Road (Calle Larga).
Admire the stunning architecture that lines Calle Large, where every building tells a story. From elegant mansions to humble dwellings that have stood the test of time, this street is a treasure trove of architectural styles that reflect Cuenca's rich cultural heritage.

One of your best! I love walking Larga. You even went by my barber shop😅 Thanks!
Hi, thanks for your comment! Have a great day!
Great photography! I lived in an apartment down La Escalenata, first door on the left, 1987-1989. Great to see the old neighborhood 😀!
Hi there, thanks for your comment. Great to know someone who used to live here. Have a great day!
Excellently video, I like when you write the name of the places and streets. Really helpful for my trip there in the next weeks. Thanks
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your trip here!
Former colonial city an, made very beautiful by the Ecuadorian people 💕💓💕
I have only visited Spanish islands in Europe - never mainland Spain but, Cuenca is very much like the Italy I love to bits and, I can't wait to be in Ecuador 🌹🌹🌹
Hi there, thanks for your comment! Enjoy your stay in Cuenca!

Thanks!
I ate breakfast each of my three mornings at the Sunrise Cafe on Calle Larga 😊
Hi Jerry, thanks for your comment! That sounds great! : )
Wonderful tour. Thanks! Is it still possible to live comfortably on $1500?
Hi, thanks! Yes, I think 1500 would allow you a very comfortable lifestyle. The average income in Ecuador is about 450 dollars a month.
@@ecuadore5942 You can get a fully furnished beautiful modern apartment for $450-$750 including utilities and internet. You can eat in restaurants twice a day for about $450 a month. Private insurance usually runs under $100. I know one woman who lives in a modest apartment and lives very frugally on $500 a month. Another who has a very nice apartment, is very active, eats out every day and lives very comfortly on less than $1100 a month.
@@Mr7h21 Hi, thank you so much for the info!
Great video. Cuenca looks like a great city. The only downside I saw during the walk was the large amount of graffiti.
Hi Bill, thanks for the comment. To me, the noises are more disturbing...
@@ecuadore5942hm...have you ever visited Italy or Dublin, Ireland? We sure have our noice here and, so does Italy and...the US I have visited is more than noicy!!
I'll just move to Ecuador...snakes, vulcanos, Scorpios, earth quakes, Ecuadorian people and all 🤗
@@Jetmab04 Hi there, I've never been to those places. I guess noise is just inevitable anywhere in the world. Welcome to Cuenca!
@@ecuadore5942 I think you are right...noice is part of our life 😊
Imagine complete silence...that's death, isn't it?
We'll do that later but for now, let's just live with and within the noice and, let's celebrate we are alive and, able to make the noice 🤗
Enjoy your day. 💕💓💕
No more Purple Bridge?
Hi, sorry, what did you mean?
@@ecuadore5942 Puente Mariano Moreno was painted purple with purple umbrellas overhead. That seems to be gone.
@@Mr7h21 Oh, yes, that's true. The bridge is still partly purple though.
