Lyrics:
Some sunny day, baby
When everything seems OK, baby
You'll wake up and find that you're alone
'Cause I'll be gone
Gone gone gone
Really gone,
Done moved on
'Cause you done me wrong
Everyone that you meet, baby
As you walk down the street, baby
Will ask you why you're walking all alone
Why you're on your own
Just say I'm gone
Gone gone gone,
Done moved on
'Cause you done me wrong
If you change your way, baby
You might get me to stay, baby
Better hurry up if you don't want to be alone
Or I'll be gone
Gone gone gone
Really gone,
Done moved on
'Cause you done me wrong
The Everlys influence on
RocknRoll is so under appreciated. I can hear shades of Punk & Power Pop all over their tunes.
That slamming rhythm guitar sound can be heard all over Ramones albums, Stones albums,
Dave Edmunds ,etc etc.
Plus those harmonies are SO beautiful ...
Makes me wanna cry!
this was the first EV Bro's song I heard when I was a kid.....still love it.
I love Don Everly's chunky rhythm guitar! And I first heard this song performed by Alison Kraus and Robert Plant! It's a wonderful performance as well. The Everly's are so special and so influential.
Pretty heavy rock for those days.
Fabulous 💕
The everly brothers are from my home town central City Kentucky
Leon on the bones
You almost never see this mentioned in any discussion of the Everly Brothers. It might not have done that well nationally, but as I recall it was pretty popular in Chicago. I'm pretty sure it hit the top ten, maybe top five, on WLS chart. Great track!
It is my favorite of theirs! Totally hear the reason the Beatles were influenced by them.
I first heard this on the "American Dreams" soundtrack. I just randomly thought of it earlier but couldn't remember the exact title. I'd love to hear it more on oldies stations.
Love this song!!
During my DJ Time ( "Mr 7", DJ DOCH ) I used to play this fantastic EB singlerecord since my childhood. It has that thrilling beatagebeat.
pov: you're searching for the Laika & The Cosmonauts cover
Released in 1964.
May have been overshadowed by another group that year.
Tories uk 2024 really gone hurrah
