Even though I work with adults I have to turn off the bathroom light almost every time I walk by it. I really don't mind, I just have to wonder if they do that at home too.
Lights only cost about 20 dollars a year having it on not going to save much money at all is it worth stressing for 20 dollars and on top that the adult child is paying rent to stay there

No I fucking yell at the idiots that use lights in general. Gamers don't need normal lights I have my LED strip and there isn't a switch its motion censored. Also my LEDs cost me like 5 bucks a year if left on 24/7.
My message to my kids about their room was "clean it or I will." They tested that one time and never again. My version of clean was to bring in the outdoor trash can, put everything into it, then put it out to the curb. Once was all it took.
Are you my mom?!? She did this same thing to me, PLUS found & read my embarrassing 13 year old diary! 🤣😅 I was mortified & I never, ever left my room messy again! Ah, memories!
My mom did that to me when I was around 8, never had to tell me twice to clean my room again.

Yup! This was almost exactly me a few years back (as the son), and when I eventually moved out it didn't take long for me to realize how right my dad was the whole time lollll.

I know this too well. Getting him involved and getting him jump started in this life proves how tough and how great of a dad you are. My situation is kinda simular . NOW im honest when no one looking, sober,single dad again, run a company, starting my own horticulture UA-cam channel , working out daily, and in the right mindset today. The rage was awesome. She was incredulous that I'd use more energy climbing the stairs than just putting a bag in the can. I picked up an empty can of some energy drink, which obviously doesn't work..., started eyeballing the mess in her room, and she snatched the bag and took off, lol.
well logically speaking you did use more energy to walk it upstairs then it would have taken to simply put a bag in there

My boy is now 19, college student and I'm definitely dealing with the dishes in the sink and finding the garbage liner not replaced after he takes out the garbage the same garbage I have to remind him to take out!
