Haha! Movies this dark and foreboding I only see during matinee showings so when I walk out into the sunlight, I can snap out of it. When I saw Se7en at a movie theater long ago, it was an evening showing and sure enough, I walked out into a late-night rainstorm and couldn't shake the mood! ;-)
I can't remember the last time a film was so hyped.
You will either love it or think nothing can be so stupid. There is no middle ground.

I feel like this movie is going to feel like Se7en in the first half and turn into something more much sinister and demonic in the 2nd half

Was super disappointed with this movie. Thought it was going to be a lot better. It tried too hard imo to be creepy, and Cage’s makeup was comical. Didn’t find it suspenseful either. Too bad. Also, the face smashing scene felt ripped off from the one in Hereditary. T Rex references for no apparent reason lol

Don't be fooled by the trailers. It looks very scary - but in reality it's a wholesome tale about a group of spirited young ponies who go on exciting adventures and solve problems using the magic of friendship.
This looks scary as hell...

It's a good entertainment that keeps us in suspense but a little predictable and a slightly laughable character (Nicolas Cage)🤡

If they had just stuck with the serial killer aspect of the story, that would have been way creepier and more compelling. The satanic stuff was such a let down and not terrifying at all compared to the almost mythic figure of Longlegs. Such amazing trailers for ultimately a very disappointing movie :(

Just saw this. The entire movie is a slow burn. Theres this weird unnecessary tension buildup throughout the film that just doesnt pay off. Things are explained but not very well. It's like the writers said " _oh well, you figure it out_ ".
Just when you thought you were getting a 2024 version of Se7en or Silence of the Lambs, you end up with an liminal Indy supernatural flick starring now B list Nicholas Cage doing a hit and miss take on a ambiguous "serial kiIIer" hidden under old lady prosthetics.
It wasnt awful, Cage was entertaining with his short time on screen. You"ve never seen him like this, its fascinating. I just think it fell a little short with the wrong premise. There should have been more cat and mouse than just the mouse freely eating all the cheese because the cat died.

That makes no sense and you wouldn’t say that about any other genre. Are Sci-Fi movies only interesting if one believes in aliens or Marvel movies entertaining if one believes in super heroes? 😂 And I’d argue that supernatural horror is more realistic than other horror films that have monsters or slasher films that have characters like Freddy, Myers, Jason, etc.

Looks like fairly pedestrian/routine “paint-by-numbers” Horror from the trailer, but I’m open to being pleasantly surprised and giving it its due. Nic Cage’s involvement doesn’t always indicate a throwaway project. He’s a compelling actor with the right script. I’ll give this a chance, for sure.

A disappointing, garbage movie that had TONS of potential. Give it 2.5 out of 5 stars only for cinematography only.

@@emmamaple2505It builds things up and doesn't explain them properly. The first 1/3 is good in my opinion but it changes to an occult film and doesn't go all the way with it.

I get this whole Bates on CRACK type scary, with some spook so real it has to be blood. In a good way.
