Not going to lie. This was my first time ever attempting to clean my own gun. You did an excellent job breaking everything down. Definitely will be subscribing.
Great video except for the all-to-common dark gun on a dark surface which makes it hard to see the parts or any necessary detail. Also the lighting casts harsh shadows in and on the firearm precluding seeing any detail.
Are you using Militec -1 ? You're suppose to apply heat to the metal areas before using or apply it just before shooting. Haven't used it in years but that what it use to say on the bottle, unless they changed it, Have since switch to Weapon Shield.
Thanks for this, helped out. I had to slide the slide a little harder to get the hole to line up when finished. Is that normal? Most videos seem to show it slide on super easily and be lines right up!
I don’t know about this video. That pistol was already very clean. It’s hard to do a cleaning video on a clean/brand new gun because the guy in the video doesn’t know exactly where all the fouled up problem areas will be
The slide on my brand new sec 9 was really tight and ammo seemed to jam during some charges . Anyone else have this problem? This was straight out the box.
Same here! Bought it about 7 days ago new and took it to the dessert when I insterted a full mag and cocked it back one time to shoot it jammed....it happened to me a good 13 times. Brought it back to the store and as usual they didn’t see a single problem but I was told told to run about 300 to 600 rounds through it to break the gun and for it to be smoother. Also best advice they gave me, when you insert the mag and load it don’t baby it, be rough have power into and ever since then I’ve had one issue. Then again it’s day 20 and been out shooting 2 times since
@@mauricioarguello7983 I had the same problem with a Ruger AR15. Some said clean it right out the box. Some said don't. Some said no weapon should jam up until you run hundreds of rounds in it. Some said weapons have a break in period. I've found out that it doesn't jam when I use American Eagle ammo. & some people say that's not good or normal. I sent it back to Ruger 2X and just wanted a refund. But they said it didn't jam on them. So Am Eag it is.
@@do7hemath937 they told me I needed to run over 400 rounds and also you can’t be gentle. Honestly the issues where less and less. The only thing I do when I conceal is keep one in the chamber in case it decides to jam when my life depends on seconds 😅 but I will deff try that! I agree! Good amo and good gun clean is always key

Ruger Security 9 is a easy gun to take apart and clean. I have shot about 1100 rounds through mine and have had no problems, I love it.
Simple, short, and sweet. By all accounts this is a fine gun at a great price. Ruger strikes again!
Great video. To the point & no unnecessary talking jokes or opinions.
Thank you.
I've never seen such a clean, concise video before. This is the only gun I own but you have forced me to subscribe.
perfect vid. no bs. thank you.
Thank you for that video. It is a good angle for viewing the process.
Excellent presentation Sir!
excellent video. This really IS a very easy piece to take down/clean.
Thank you so much for this informative and simple video!!!👏👏👏👏 It was much needed!!!
On my way to pick mine up tomorrow!!
All the other people prying the takedown pin and worrying about scratching the slide.... This guy is like CMON use your head
Shortest video wins every time for gun cleaning
Thank you for the video simple and to the point
So easy
Thanks props
Should have shown the new people how to use patches as well most start with patches dont know about a snake
for some reason it is very hard to put my safety on. plus the button to lock my slide in place it is very hard to put in place.

It's a simple how to video Sarah... Chill..
What about the compact security 9, im guessing the exact same?
Thanks Bill. 😊
Fantastic thank you

Did they change the stock grip on these? I bought mine just last month and it have a different grip
It comes stock
I left my sec-9 in a safe overnight and the slide slightly rusted, probably due to humidity. Any recommendations for cleaning the finish?
wd40
just joking I don't know anything about guns
To keep humidity out of your safe the best thing to do is get you a couple of dry bags to put in there, that's what I do and it seems to work.
Kind of brush?

Same here. Thought I broke mine. Really have to slam it

Type of brush exactly? Any or?

@@mauricioarguello7983 they were right about not to baby it ,loads much better when you're a lil rougher with it , seriously
