isnt that how all festivals operate? With that said. they really need to set up a second outdoor stage, the indoor stage just isnt going to work anymore from here on out
@nikhernandez8435 fests I've been to weren't like that. They'd have multiple bands playing at the same time so you had to choose, and half the stages aren't running on time.
Incredible weekend! Hope to attend again next year. Best sets for me were probably Sodom, Demolition Hammer, Rotting Christ, Autopsy (even with the shorter set) , Morbid Saint (wish they'd played longer) , Watchtower, Solitude Aeternus and Stygian Crown. Morbid Tales set was fun too! Normally would have watched Nunslaughter but the inside stage was way too crowded so I passed. Seen them a bunch of times and will see them again for sure. Wish I could have seen more Destructor songs but we left early to get a good spot for Autopsy and ended up getting evacuated for the weather delay. Was great seeing lots of old friends and meeting new ones.
Good review. It is a good thing you did not go back to the AIRBNB with us. Everyone kept slamming liquor and when getting back to the venue we only caught one Autopsy song. Haha yes and there was an abundance of those short shorts. Cool on women but not on men.
It was a fucking god tier fest. I do not regret flying all the way from New York to see this. I too was disappointed by how shortened Autopsy's set was. Especially because I was looking forward to hearing a couple of songs off Mental Funeral. But yeah, Demoltion Hammer was fucking KILLER too. I'm looking forward to seeing what next years line-up will hold.
Dude, I was dying hearing you talk about the short shorts and belly shirts. Holy shit, you described a few of my cousins that were teenagers back in 88. Good to hear that it was overall a good time.
Dude im trying to see SODOM at California Death Fest in October! Sick shirt! I’d like to see footage of you and Rhevoks drunk asses maneuvering the venue 🤣😂🤘🏼🤘🏼☠☠
Oh yeah Hell's Heroes is a whole hell of a big deal definitely, I'm Swedish but I heard about it already last year, glad you guys are getting some good festivals in cause yeah there's terrible bands on the bill but miluwakee I saw last year had some bands I would kill to see live like Immolation which thankfully I'll see open for CC this year! So that's something I'm looking forward to LIKE HELL (loudness reference)
This is my 4th Hell's Heroes and this was my favorite one so far. Sodom, Demolition, Candlemass, Cirith, Solitude Aeturnus(who blew Candlemass out of the water), Queensryche, Doro, Attic (although i had to dip 15 mins early to catch Sodom unfortunately), Helstar, Watch Tower, Occult Burial, Nubivagant and Rotting Christ were the highlights
Also haha Slayer just reunited! Not sure if you were aware when recording this, I doubt they're gonna do albums, but honestly I won't go to any of the new Slayer shows, cause I can't stand Paul Bostaph, he can't even play the Dave Lombardo songs properly and they really picked that guy over the drummer from Abzu proscriptor who would've been able to play that double kick part, one lookie at a late show from Slayer's Angel of Death and those kicks are SLOP CENTRAL, I think I'd rather watch any other Thrash band at that point, like Coroner, that's a good band right there..
That sounds like it was fun. I was smiling about the short short/half shirt combo b/c I saw a dude dressed like that yesterday at my job. You broke me with the Prince Valiant haircut line.
Have you seen the Slowly We Rot era band photos of one or two of the dudes in Obituary wearing the belly shirts?. Lol. And the reason you probably didn't see J Dawg was that he was most likely walking around trying to score interviews with band members. Plus he's more picky about what bands he wants to watch and their set lists. I'm sure he was seeing the canoe shit you saw too, with the cut shirts and fanny packs.
I was super bummed I couldn’t make it. However, I have redemption now that Sodom, Dismember, and Nunslaughter will be playing Chicago in Oct. Now I just need Demolition Hammer to play somewhere close
Nice review dude! Sounds like a killer time, minus the weather. I watched some live footage of Sodom, Demolition Hammer, Omen and Morbid Saint. The sound quality seemed great! I dunno what’s up with the booty shorts and half shirt thing. It’s like how some newer bands started wearing those 80s throwback hi-top Nike sneakers, just hipster stuff I guess 😆
Great seeing you there as always Brudah I went all 3 days I got there late day 3 in time for Demolition Hammer as I did not want to support the “Tank” and disgracing Algy Ward by doing so those guys are dishonorable thieving bastards that profit off of a multitalented deceased Man(something they aren’t) also none of those guys are original members they weren’t in Filth Hounds of Hades or Power of the Hunter or the Don’t Walk Away EP prior to those 2 legendary groundbreaking albums released the same yr and this contempt I have is cause Tank along with Sodom are among my top favorites bands of all time I liked everything Algy has done from early yrs with The Damned and The Saints to Tank and his project with Evo from Warfare is why I did not attend and people I knew who saw it told me they sucked no surprise. But Demolition Hammer was great really crazy pit behind me that my Brother was in, Forbidden was ok as was Rotting Christ and of corpse the BEST band whole Fest was SODOM!! Their set was perfect I’m glad it wasn’t a nostalgic set for all of Sodom’s albums ruled they played all the classics from In The Sign Of Evil, Persecution Mania, Agent Orange and even one song from Tapping The Vein, Obsessed By Cruelty and a few from M16 one my personal favorites along with that Leave Me In Hell Venom cover witch is actually my favorite Venom song of all time an underrated song so I got down loved the Surfin Bird The Trashmen Cover interlude to M16 hahaha found myself singing to 90% of their songs!! For day one Girlschool I got there just in time scanned through the gate as they were setting up and started playing, Doro was ok I always thought she was corny though, Destructor was really good first aggressive band that day I stuck around for 20 mins to what I thought would get a good spot for Autopsy til they booted us out I would’ve stayed to see all of their set had i known this and Autopsy getting a cut set was malarkey but for what we got epik!!! Candlemass my second time seeing them they were good. Second day got there super early for Morbid Saint pretty lame they played only 30mins cause they were low on the bill i came back for Watchtower, then I went to see Solitude Aeturnus they were the best band that day really heavy wish they played Chapel of Burning but Black Castle was excellent live i went inside to see Cauldron love them good newer band then i saw some of Queensryche and we dipped they were good just not a fan and one of those things where i felt ignorant so yeah. Overall good times Saturday was the BEST day for Sodom and Demolition Hammer alone!!
There is nothing worse than having very little expectation and still, somehow, being let down. It's like expecting a bag of garbage but when you get the garbage it also makes you wretch from the smell and you can't get the stink off of your clothes. 😂
Great fest besides all the problems. Nite, Omen and Eternal Champion killed on Friday thats about all you missed. DH was complete insanity. I was up front for Attic losing my shit. Missed some of Sodom as a result good thing ill see them in Oct. Who knows when Attic will be through again. Was cool meeting you bud. Cheers
Today, according to the mail service. My Drewcifer shirt shall arrive. I wonder if that means I’m going to greet people with. Sup dudes, Kreutzifer here with some more metal for your asses. Does it come with a stocking cap and sunglasses? How will it affect the North Korean children?
Ahh, sounds like you just got the shirt and not the starter pack. The starter pack comes with a shirt, shades, beanie, spiked wristband, and a Destroyer 666 back patch. And no, that kid in North Korea is still fucked.
@@Drewcifer 😂🤘🏽You know there’s a video coming soon rockin the Drewcifer shirt. As well as several more in the future. The Mordant Rhed shirt made me play some black metal riffs. Drewcifer shirts probably going to nuke my amp. Poor North Korean kid.
My wife said the mail truck just pulled up on two wheels. Put some stuff in the mail box. Then his truck tipped back down on all four. Then she said the mail box burst in to flames. And some goat demon wearing bullet belts and a gas mask appeared. Then handed her the mail. I’m guessing that my Drewcifer shirt arrived.
I think it's dumb when people get so drunk before and during a show, then the next day they can't remember a god damn thing about the concert. Seeing your favorite bands and especially legendary bands who don't play in certain countries often, is something that should be remembered. Not being passed out in a corner the whole damn thing.
I love that 2 stage setup where one band plays while the other stage is set up for the next band. That's how Heavy Hell did it.
I enjoyed that as well \m/

Yeah I appreciated the offer tho man! The Autopsy set was short but sweet.

Demolition hammer... bringing you the bronx brutality as it should be
Bro, they repped NY hard and heavy.
Demolition Hammer was ABSOLUTELY the heaviest band of the fest. Also got a pic of the dude crowdsurfing in the garbage can lol.
Amazing show!!!

Good on them setting up for one band playing while one band setting up. I hate that dead time in between bands when they take forever to set up
Yeah it makes shit roll A LOT smoother.
Only saw Demolition Hammer once a couple years ago at Maryland DF. Never got around to them but would gladly see them again
Thanks, drewcifer, Killer video. Hope yall had a great time\m/
I did it just for you, Mike.

Not sure if it was for sheer irony, but i saw a group of friends dressed like they were going line dancing on thursday haha
Hah. Yeah there were a couple of cowboys there.
I'm not into going to Big fests, so I didn't even get a ticket
😂🤣“ felt like I was watching Creed”😂🤣😂🤣🤮🤮🤮🤮🤢🤢🤢🤢
