Want to know how the Heresy IV's sound on stands or with a set of kick-ass subs? Then respond here and let Klipsch know! This is something that I may revisit later down the line!
I visited my local dealer her in Dubai on Saturday morning who gave me plenty of time to listen to a pair of Heresy IVs, as the mall is virtually empty at that time. The more I listened, the more I fell in love with the sound. After an hour or so I was done and ended up adopting a pair in black ash which were delivered in a sandstorm yesterday. I have them hooked up to a Cambridge Audio EVO 150 all-in-one and straight out of the box I am so happy. What I love about them can be distilled down to two words - clarity and effortlessness. Music where there is a lot going on doesn't get muddled and I can push them quite hard and they never shout at me. I played a high resolution copy of Abbey Road and it simply blew me away.
I'd prefer magnepans for detailed but low volume. The issue with Klipsch (or any super sensitive speaker) is background hiss. I run pass labs and PS audio balanced and with Klipsch (very silent system) the noise can be heard from the sofa 9 feet away. With the Magnepan LRS and their low sensitivity I can't hear hiss with my ear touching the speaker.
@@beckhaver I'm running a 1962 tube amp with Cornwalls with absolutely no hiss, you might try a balanced power supply for your mains. I built mine from parts from Parts Express.

Would this speaker not work for me?
I've had my Natural Cherry pair for a couple of months now and all I can say is I'm amazed with how versatile they are. Admittedly, I am a fan of the Klipsch sound, I had been listening to Reference RB61IIs for years after finally upgrading. The Heresy IVs are actually less harsh than the bookshelves, the treble is more precise, coupled with the mid-range, paint a ridiculous soundstage (at least in my system). They're not warm but I wouldn't necessarily call them harsh either, they just have presence and reproduce the sound exactly as it was recorded. I have never, ever wanted more bass (I'm not into huge flabby bass), it's quick and punchy but still has nice body when you need it. That being said they are not kind to bad mastering or recordings. I appreciate your review!
The Heresy sounds like the instruments being played by actual musicians! 66 years experience in the band. 30 years experience listing to the band through Heresys. You may or may not like listening to a live actual band. That’s on you. If you want speakers to reproduce what was recorded, these do so better than any other speakers I know of!
Completely agree with this review. I personally loved these speakers when I heard them. They were setup on the stubby stands that face them angled up towards the listener, grill on and flat on to the listener. They simply sound amazing to me. They are so engaging and so effortless and so full sounding. They immediately reminded me of my dad's speakers from the 70s and 80s which makes sense considering they are updated speakers designed back in the day. Definitely give them a good tryout. It might not be your taste, but what they do is really good. Thanks again Sean!
These are on my list for my next speakers. I usually would only buy old speakers but it’s nice to have something new for once. The jbl l100 classic doesn’t really live up to the ones from the 70s and 80s to me.
Thanks for the review Sean. As someone looking for a switch to a more detailed and forward sounding speaker, your review was valuable, particularly the caveats. Cheers!
Hey Sean! A friend of mine had a pair of these in the late 1970's. He got them when his dad upgraded to Klipschorns. The Rush album Hemispheres had just come out. With that album (and many, many more) , and those speakers we turned an unfinished basement into a concert hall! I really like the look of the new edition. Love the dual binding posts. Love the vintage look of the grills. Hopefully I can hear a pair of these in person some time.
Rush. Thanks for the reminder. Love my Klipsch home theater with Heresey 1's being the 2 fronts. I also have amazon unlimited music HD with a new Pioneer Elite receiver which is one of the receivers designed for the Amazon Ultra HD music. I need to ask Alexa to play some Rush tonight. The Heresey horns will kick azz with Rush.
I'll make this commentary short because I've been into audio for 51 years. I auditioned the Heresy IV's and in my opinion, they are a great monitor speaker in their price range with better refinement than the first Heresy speakers I had owned, then sold decades ago. Good review.
I replaced KEF LS50's with Heresy IV's in my 2.1 home theater with a Sony 85-inch 4K UHD TV. The sound is very different and the first couple of days I thought they were harsh. But with positioning and time I found these are superior for the home theater application for me. These are the largest speakers I could fit on my shelves and their biggest advantage is that they sound good even at low volumes. I moved the LS50's to my computer desktop where they are driven by a Vidar amplifier whenever I want that sound character. For movies, played softly or very loudly, the Heresy IV is a better choice for me. My subwoofer is an SVS PB-3000 next to my seat. This makes for a powerful motion picture theater sound experience!
@Dan Car The Heresy was for stereo music primarily, with the TV also playing through it. I have since bought Revel F226Be, which I far prefer. The Heresy is now relegated to bedroom TV duty.
Thanks for the review.. glad to see a dissenting opinion of sorts for the Heresey IV. There's a lot of hype around these, enough where I considered it endgame, and saving up for it. It might take years but I could dreammmmm.
They're 8 grand a pair in my country; the Forte's are 10. I'm definitely going to have to DIY a pair as close as I can get to these or Forte's, from Parts-Express.
Another excellent review, Sean...been watching many of your reviews recently...very enjoyable...you're one of the best reviewers of hifi gear on youtube...I'm a subscriber!
My Heresy's were made in 1967. The speaker is called the Heresy because the 12 inch bass speaker is not horn loaded. Making a non horn loaded speaker was heresy to PWK, hence the name. The Heresy was originally to be the center channel speaker in a Kipschorn system.
Providing us with comparisons (Forte iii) so we'll have a reference, is the best if not the only way for us to make a decision, cause with the right presentation anyone can say "oh I do love forward energetic sound!" when they really don't.
They grow on you that’s for sure. I’ve had mine for about 6 months and I can’t wait to listen to them every day. And isn’t that what it’s really all about? They are engaging like no other speaker (that I have heard at this price point). It’s all about the efficiency. I have mine paired with a tube amp (R8). They are refined when I want to listen critically and they Rock when I want to party. I love ‘em!!
Paired with a good tube amplifier, in my case a Line Magnetic 211 iA, the Heresy IV is an absolute dream team. This plastic openness and transparency in the mid-high range is unique. I like listening to live recordings, you can literally reach into the stage. The audiophile virtues such as resolution, localization and spatiality are also at a very high level with the Heresy IV. Other loudspeakers, even high-quality ones, often bored me relatively quickly, but this is completely different with the Heresy IV, these are captivating and you feel like you are right in front of the stage. You definitely shouldn't let the Klipsch haters stop you from listening to this phenomenal speaker, it's absolutely worth it.
As someone who has listened to a LOT of live music in his life, the stuff recorded in high tech studios and "produced" and mixed to perfection, played through any half-decent stereo system is always going to sound a lot more refined, and it's suppose to. That being said, I personally prefer the in-your-face realism of Klipsch to the BBC sound. But that's just me.
I just bought a pair of vintage Heresy ll circa 1985 I’m now a klipsch enthusiast, those babies are in amazing condition and sound warm and fantastic no wonder the company offers a 10y warranty on the 4th generation !
I believe that high end speakers have become too clinical today and have lost their realistic tonality for better imaging and sound staging and other caveats Klipsch has not made that kind of departure but has been improving their signiture sound to closely reproduce a live performance. Good review.
Thanks for this review. This is the review I have been truly waiting for. I'm still very much up in the air as to whether the Heresy IV or the Tekton DI is going to the end game speaker. However this goes a long ways towards satisfying my curiosity. Thank you so much for what you do Sean.
Yeah. Love the look of em'. Even the sound is pretty kickin once ya get used to it. Meanwhile, I hear you Kiwis are returning back to normal life. Good on ya!
Ah I would have loved a sound demo comparison between the Heresy, Forte and Cornwall. Love the reviews Sean. Interesting take on the Heresy, others have said it was rather neutral.
Exellent review. I own a set III, and i have not heard IV but your description could also be true for the III, minus the 10 Hz less bass extension in the III. I bought a set of III at Black Friday, and returned them because the IV was announced. In Denmark the IV price is only 135 $ less than Forte III. In the meantime, i was bored with my old JBL speakers and i missed the the live sound from the III. I bought a set of III AGAIN and combined with a Rythmik Direct Servo SUB and XTZ Edge power amp and i am happy for now. 😃 You make really good reviews, especially the last parts when you compare to other popular alternatives. Keep on the good work 👍
I'm rocking a pair of my dads Heresy ii's with new crites crossovers stacked on top of my own KG4's with new titanium tweeter crossovers. Been using the Cambridge AXR100 with the pairs and its been a good quarantine so far. Heard the Heresy iv and i think your review is spot on!
I tried the Heresy IV with my Naim Unitilite after a reviewer recommended them as a good match for the Naim. I have the B&W 704 S2, and I am not happy with the lower volume performance on them. So I was looking for a speaker with bigger elements and higher sensitivity. I already have the Klipsch Stadium BT (absolutely love it!) so decided to give Klipsch a change again. But it sounded like absolute garbage even in an optimized listening room. After 20 minutes of different music I gave up, and the sales rep said he expected that I would not like them based on what he heard. He said, to compare connect to the other speakers in the room (Pylon Jasper 25). I was blown away. They were so much better than the Klipsch. In the end I bought Soundcare Superspikes for the B&W's which in fact helped a ton. It was like getting new speakers. So I ended up with spending far less than expected last weekend.
thnx again for another great review. i think it was very honest n neutral. i really like how u reference step up, and step down in price...plus equipment. it gives a great overall review. it is really up to buyer to do research and audition. i think this gives a great starting point to start journey into hifi sound n products.
Thanks Sean ! Big Klispch fan here ! Seans right 45 watts is alot of power for efficant speakers ,The IOTAVX SA3 drove my JBL-Studio 580s pretty easy shocked me ! !!! God I love the SA3 espically at its price point ! But i must say great idea on the angled bottom plate stands for the Klispch my Rp-160m came like that thanks again Sean glad you doing ok buddy
Thanks man. I'm hanging in there. Hope you're also doing well. Yep, there's a lot of great gear out there nowadays. Tis' a good time to love music and awesome sound.
Great review Sean. My main speakers are ProAc 2.5s. I found a pair of Heresy 1’s at a good price and bought them on a lark. I was expecting a pair of “audio flamethrowers”. Wow was I surprised - realism, dynamics and good bass- plus they actually image! The old Heresys are wonderful on jazz and blues, and even orchestral music. Yes, the soundstage is close to the floor, but they are very easy to place. Will need to try them on stands at some point. I’m using them with a vintage Fisher EL-84 amp, and the tone controls come in handy. While these don’t replace my Proacs for refinement, Heresys, even vintage Heresys are fun!
The Heresy IV speakers have been in my basement, 2.1 system for 2 months. Concrete floors and walls. They are forward. I like the clarity. Playing guitar for over 50 years at high volumes has ruined part of my hearing, so they sound less forward to ME than for others. I bought them for $2,200 open box type of deal from a company in Wisconsin. They sound great to me. I have Paradigm Studio 100s in my surround 7 channel system upstairs. Totally different. If I want smooth, I listen upstairs, Zepelin while working out, I listen downstairs.
Every time I watch your channel, I love it more and more. Such a professional channel. Great job man! It also sounds like these would work very nicely as a home theater speaker. I'm just trying to figure out where I want to go into when I can finally afford some Klipsch heritage speakers
IMO: Great looking speaker. Made in Hope Arkansas and fairly priced considering the JBL -L100 classics made in Indonesia for 4 grand a pair. Klipsch are no longer my cup of tea, but with a sub I can appreciate the merits. They are an unholy improvement over previous Heresy models. You want pain? Listen to some original metal-horn heresys.
I've owned my Heresy IVs for over a year now and they are everything you said they are. They can be excessively bright, damn near assaulting at times and when that happens I just "dial it down a notch" or maybe two. I usually run my equalizer settings on bass and treble at "o" so I can judge how the lp or cd was originally mixed and to avoid coloration. My McIntosh MC312 power amp cruises at mid-level with the blue meter attenuators almost conducting the pace while I listen to jazz, pop, country, and even classical. These speakers can handle it all.
The name actually comes from the fact that Paul Klipsch said it was heresy to be asked to design a speaker following the klipschorn, which he said was the ultimate design.
The Heresy of the 1970s was a professional speaker to be hung in auditoriums and churches. I had the opportunity to listen extensively, and I must say it did sound like live music, but you will get tired of just listening to it.
I love your take on these. They are in your face, I like them but not something I am in the market for at this time. I am sticking with my RF7 IIs for my "in your face" speakers. 2 extremes, klipsch and Maggies.
Wow. Andrew Robinson gave these an absolutely glowing review, the most glowing review I've ever heard, and it convinced me that maybe these could be my endgame speakers . Now, idk. I don't like bright sound and I definitely don't listen to the best recordings all of the time. Thanks for a different perspective on these, now I have a lot to think about
Matthew Christ I hear you. But that’s the appeal of different types of speakers. Different strokes for different folks. I don’t have them, but plan to at some point down the road.
I usually have the engineers cosign on my assessment before they go live. I'm not interested in putting out biased assessments. A product is what it is. Take it or leave it. Since you dont like a bright sound, I dont think this would be for ya.
Always keep in mind, a reviewer on you tube is not an expert of you. All of us put too much faith in this, anyone can create a channel and get a following then you start to consider them credible. That being said I personally think ZF is more balanced in his reviews that some others. But you be your judge.
I can't believe how right they got it. When Audiovox bought Klipsch I thought it was all over. Instead they hire workers in their American factory and make some of the greatest cabinets Klipsch ever made. I'm waiting for the Chorus III's.
My reseller has a couple of pairs of heresy 3’s at half price of 4’s in black. I was waiting for the 4 ‘s but not the price hike! So a discounted 3 at less than 2k the pair. The 3’s sound amazing
I used to own a pair of Klipsch Heresy II's. They replaced my Pioneer HPM-40's. I paired them with an M&K subwoofer for my home theatre. They came in wood which i had to stain myself. I live in a small town, so it was either Heresy II's or Radio Shack speakers. I think I made the right choice, he he. I had them about 10 years (still have the subwoofer!). After i got to know them better though, i found the horns could be a bit shrill sometimes. I won't buy another horn speaker. BTW they look just like the Heresy IV's you're showing here, except for the grille and the beautiful wood grain. Edit: Loved the efficiency!
Kinda wish you still had that Luxman SQ-N150 (that you shed a tear about) to run with and get your thoughts. But that amp might not make it drive a truck, drink a beer, shoot guns and listen to both kinds of music (country and western). Party on Sean!
I'm listening to this review on my series 1 HWO Heresy speakers...and it sounds great! If you enjoy LIVE recordings, these speakers will serve you well. I've had mine for over 40 years.
i briefly owned the same speakers and loved them with tube amps. i thought the crossovers' caps needed replacing due to age. bought Crites replacement caps. Sounded like chalk. Went back to the oil can caps and left it that way. Can't recall why i sold them. needed space I s'ppose.
I haven't heard a Cerwin Vega product that can do what these can BUT, there will be a few similarities here and there. Besides, those giant Cerwin towers are pretty badass for the money. In either case, you gotta luv the sound in order to justify the purchase.. :)
Sean, fantastic review. I have had the RP 600M's. I found those a little too in your face and forward. Very alive though. It does seem like the Heresey's have a similar forward presentation. Is that a fair reference?
I listen to my Heresy IV and they disappear in a near field set up. I have them 7’ apart and about 7’ away with toe in. Mono recordings make them completely disappear. These are on dual Elac subs as stands and are amazing. Get them off the ground and these are fun. Stands should be made by Klipsch to match the speakers.
I think its interesting Sean that you mentioned toe in related to the CW4, H4 and Forte 3. It resulted in exactly what I was told by a Klipsch rep very recently. Apparently the CW4 and H4 have the same new crossover design and the same 1.75" Horn. I was told that the details are less bright and less harsh with this set up as opposed to the Forte 3. Your toe in toward the listening position for the version 4 speakers vs directly out into the room with the Forte 3 seems to confirm this. Would you agree?
In a sitting down situation by the listener(s), the tweeter should be at ones ear height correct? This speaker with the removable sloped base should be the ultimate bookshelf speaker with stands. I'm interested in how they would sound on top of my pair of speaker stands filled with stainless steel shot that is used as a blasting media. Thanks for the review.
Its an amazing speaker - all the Heresy's are awesome - However, they need the right equipment....They are paired well with valve equipment for a very good reason, because it works well with that equipment, if you pair it correctly you will be very satisfied, if not dont complain....
Love my Heresey 1 speakers. They started my Klipsch fetish. Have bought so many Klipsch speakers since then and won't buy any other brand as long as I live.
It's easy for Klipsch to give a 10 year warranty. My dad gave me the original pairs of Fortes and KG4's that he bought back in 1985-6 and aside from a little wear from moving all over the country they still sound great or at least good enough that the price of the new models make me lose my enthusiasm rapidly. Really enjoy your content.
Build em' tough, and you won't have to deal with as many repairs. That's for sure. But yeah, the pricing of hifi is interesting nowadays. Expensive gear is getting mo' expensive, while affordable gear is getting mo' affordable.
Hey Sean, Great review, I am looking for a Heresy speaker to go into my center channel, K-horns on the outside. I might buy a pair and put them in the back after listening to your review.
I recently bought the klipsch sixes. Can I share something? I used Bluetooth. Put on the alternate take 1 studio recording of elvis's "in the ghetto". I wept openly. The detail and imaging put me inside the recording studio with the king. His tone, baritone were otherworldly. The future is powered speakers and DSP. ANYONE else aware of the klipsch sixes?
I don't know the speakers r just not for me I've heard them in a store and I was quite disappointed... for the price I thought they would sound much better PS great review Sean as always...
I bought these in Dec. and put them on steel stands. Bass rolls off around 70 or 80 HZ (my guess), so in my room, I definitely needs subs. Fortunately, I have two of them. I'm still on the fence about returning them to Crutchfield.
Shawn, as always excellent review, couldn't agree with you more. i have heard the III's which i know they have made vast improvements on but yeah i cant see the sound signature changing all that much. Heard the JBL L100's but for the money if i was going horn would prefer the Forte's.
A good review. You have piqued my interest. I'd like to listen to the Heresy IV. Maybe when this damned beer virus is at its end and I have my freedom back.
Zero Fidelity check out the Tekton he made for low power tube amps. I thing it’s called The perfect Set. Made for flea watt amps and looks really interesting. I just got into tubes ( 10 watt) and it’s the best thing ever in my journey of madness.
I wonder if my Peachtree iNova and 220 power amp that I use in my office would be a good match with these speakers? maybe the iNovas tube might calm them a bit. I liked this detailed review.
Hi Sean, I know the Emotiva T1+ is a totally different animal but how do they compare being that you reviewed both and have them fresh in your mind? It seems like the top end on both are extended that I like. Sounds like the Heresy is just a large sized party boombox. Love your reviews!!!
Totally different. First, the Heresy IV is flat out way more resolving. More punchy. More bass. Better layering within the soundstage. Arguably more realistic tone. Both speakers are forward, although the Klipsch are moreso. However, the T1+ has some things going for it. It's sound is more conventionally accurate from the midrange on down. Much more balanced and dry. The vertical imaging on the T1+ is more realistic due to their height, and the bass will be a tad quicker albeit not as hard hitting.
Zero Fidelity Wow!!! Thank you so much for your reply! I always trust your honest and insightful feelings in your reviews and this helps me a lot. I hope you keep doing reviews, I think it helps a lot of us that cannot access or audition components. Your reviews really mean a lot to me and I’m sure to a lot of people around the world. Please keep up the great work as long as you are enjoying yourself. Your hard work is greatly appreciated!!! Janelle
Would you say the Cornwall iv is an overall better sounding speaker? If somebody cares about holographic good separation very detailed retrieval what speakers better to go for? And what makes the Cornwall for worth all that extra money compared to these besides paying for the size is it a better sounding speaker? 🤔
Great . I have a question . I never have klipsch . Normally I use Danish product . My question is Who is best Amp for klipsch heresy IV ? I'm a guy love vinyl and my taste is Pop, Jazz , Soul , R&B , some Rock . Can you help me about this ? Thank you.
Compare & contrast with the [sound profile of the] RP600M. Yes, there is a size difference, and there is a size difference between the Heresy, Forte and Cornwall as well..
I listen to hip hop, rap, pop, and other verities of music. My room size is 27' x 15' x 12'. Between Klipsch heresy IV or B&W 704 S2 speakers which would you recommend and why. Thanks
Both my cousins, stage technician and the other an actual musician approve my Cornwalls. There’s something about Klipsch sound that seems real to my and their ears. Don’t pair it with cheap gear as some suggest. They are reviling enough to point to weaknesses in your system. And I wouldn’t call them party speakers. That’s a ridiculous statement. Another ridiculous statement is that they’re not an audiophile speakers, whatever that means. They reproduce music with believability and scale matched by very few speakers in that price range. From what I have heard, Heresy speakers are another home run for Heritage line. Are they for everyone? No. But most will love them.
You list the XTZ Edge A2-300 in the review notes. Curious how they sounded with this particular amp (which I own). Was thinking if too harsh could by-amp with this for the bass and a low watt tube amp for treble.
I have a set of Heresy that probably needs refoamed. Strangs thing it only has 2 screws on the back for connections. I am thinking about pairing a Marantz 1200 with them. Any thoughts?
I'm planning on Heresy 4s with a pair of svs ultra 16 subs. So if Sean could review that setup or possibly svs 4000s that would help me close the deal.
Want to know how the Heresy IV's sound on stands or with a set of kick-ass subs? Then respond here and let Klipsch know! This is something that I may revisit later down the line!

Congrats!!
@Dan Car The Heresy was for stereo music primarily, with the TV also playing through it. I have since bought Revel F226Be, which I far prefer. The Heresy is now relegated to bedroom TV duty.
What I love about the klipsch Heresy is the sensitivity is high. That means it does not take much power to wake them up.
Thanks for the review.. glad to see a dissenting opinion of sorts for the Heresey IV. There's a lot of hype around these, enough where I considered it endgame, and saving up for it. It might take years but I could dreammmmm.
Absolutely worth checking out!
I just watched 3 reviews of the Heresy 4 and yours supplied much better/useful info than the others. Great job, S.
i agree!
They're 8 grand a pair in my country; the Forte's are 10. I'm definitely going to have to DIY a pair as close as I can get to these or Forte's, from Parts-Express.
My Heresy speakers arrive tomorrow. Thank you for the great review. Long time fan, first time commenter :-)
Another excellent review, Sean...been watching many of your reviews recently...very enjoyable...you're one of the best reviewers of hifi gear on youtube...I'm a subscriber!
Thanks for the kind words!
Hey Sean, as always thank you for putting efforts into the review. I hope it does not take away too much time from you from enjoying this hobby :)
In Europe they’re even more expensive but having listened to them I think they’re worth every penny!
I've owned my Heresy IIs since 1986, they now serve as a center channel for my La Scalas
Thanks for this review. This is the review I have been truly waiting for. I'm still very much up in the air as to whether the Heresy IV or the Tekton DI is going to the end game speaker. However this goes a long ways towards satisfying my curiosity. Thank you so much for what you do Sean.
Thank you, finally a review that mentioned the stand, and that it’s removable.
Good all around review.
Love the retro look and design the have kept ... Thanks again for another great review brother ... Kind Regards from New Zealand and keep safe ... 😎😎😎
You make really good reviews, especially the last parts when you compare to other popular alternatives.
Keep on the good work 👍
Enjoy the great sound!
I own the Heresy III & IV. The IVs are way better! I disagree that they are not refined. Although my amp is Pass Xa25!
The ultimate bad ass rock speaker. My future speaker one day.
@@ZeroFidelity Yes doing great Sean , And your right its an awesome time to be into STEREO 😆 the price to performace ratio just blowns me
away !
I bought H 3’s eight years ago. They are still impressive.
Epic stuff brother. Your videos help keep me grounded lately, its appreciated.
Thanks for watching man!
I heard it was a heresy to use a non-horn loaded low end?
The Heresy of the 1970s was a professional speaker to be hung in auditoriums and churches. I had the opportunity to listen extensively, and I must say it did sound like live music, but you will get tired of just listening to it.
Benchmark AHB2 amp. Great amp. Great match for these Klipsches but a Schiit Vidar would be more in this price range.
I love your take on these. They are in your face, I like them but not something I am in the market for at this time. I am sticking with my RF7 IIs for my "in your face" speakers. 2 extremes, klipsch and Maggies.
2 completely different systems. Love it!
Or roll like me...Den Polk Lsim 703's, Living room Canton Vento 890.2s, and in the bedroom Anthony Gallo Classico CL-4s:) Baskin Robin's baby!!
@@ZeroFidelity appreciate it man, other reviews didn't mention they were bright lol
@@rndm4642 of course. But the others reviews never mentioned they were bright so def not for me :)
Always keep in mind, a reviewer on you tube is not an expert of you. All of us put too much faith in this, anyone can create a channel and get a following then you start to consider them credible. That being said I personally think ZF is more balanced in his reviews that some others. But you be your judge.
Gotta love Klipsch; keeping their Heritage alive!
I can't believe how right they got it. When Audiovox bought Klipsch I thought it was all over. Instead they hire workers in their American factory and make some of the greatest cabinets Klipsch ever made. I'm waiting for the Chorus III's.
2001 Monolithic Roger that, I have a pair of 1995 Chorus II’s with Crites crossovers that are fantastic.
My reseller has a couple of pairs of heresy 3’s at half price of 4’s in black. I was waiting for the 4 ‘s but not the price hike! So a discounted 3 at less than 2k the pair. The 3’s sound amazing
I own a set III and combined with a Rythmik Direct Servo SUB and i am HAPPY 😃
Wish you would review the Tekton Compact Monitors. I'm interested how they would compare to the Heresy IV. Thanks for the review.
Got a pair of these “ MONSTERS “ amazing sound
Kinda wish you still had that Luxman SQ-N150 (that you shed a tear about) to run with and get your thoughts. But that amp might not make it drive a truck, drink a beer, shoot guns and listen to both kinds of music (country and western). Party on Sean!
I miss that little lux. Lots of people ask me about that thing. Rock on, Chris Block!
I was looking at SS monoblocks but then I thought why not try tubes again. The Luxman SQ-N150 is high on my list.
Very good job describing this speaker. Bravo!
Can't recall why i sold them. needed space I s'ppose.
that was one of the best reviews I have ever heard because it shows how honest you are.... so foe me it's a cerwin vega for way more $$$
I haven't heard a Cerwin Vega product that can do what these can BUT, there will be a few similarities here and there.
The Heresy's take that trait and then turn it up to 10. So yep, I'd say that's fair to say.
Well done!! keep up the great work, enjoy the videos!
Cheers!
No doubt. I have 40 year old heresies and 30 year old Fortes. Perfect working order.
Klipsch are timeless classics.
I don't know the speakers r just not for me I've heard them in a store and
I was quite disappointed... for the price I thought they would sound much better
PS great review Sean as always...
Oh I hear you. Even in my own environment...with music that I'm familiar with... I went hellnaw.exe on em' at first.
Two days and these are mine. Second speaker I’ve bought from reviews by Sean
Hi Doug - did you get these? After 4 months, what are your thoughts? Thanks - Michael
Nice review Sean! Thanks.
“...Here’s is the bad...” 😂 at $3000 these speakers better have no negatives.
I bought these in Dec. and put them on steel stands. Bass rolls off around 70 or 80 HZ (my guess), so in my room, I definitely needs subs. Fortunately, I have two of them. I'm still on the fence about returning them to Crutchfield.
I know it’s not your forte but I’d love a review of these for using them in a home theater set up - 2.1 or 3.1 if not 5.1
Shawn, as always excellent review, couldn't agree with you more. i have heard the III's which i know they have made vast improvements on but yeah i cant see the sound signature changing all that much. Heard the JBL L100's but for the money if i was going horn would prefer the Forte's.
A good review. You have piqued my interest. I'd like to listen to the Heresy IV. Maybe when this damned beer virus is at its end and I have my freedom back.
Freedom goals!
Thx for the great review, I’m thinking about purchasing them.
Great review. Sounds like we need a pair of Heresys and a pair of Cornwalls!
Thinking about adding RP 600’s and one SPL 100. Opinions appreciated.
Only 1 decade? I'm listening your vid on 1966 speackers on my Pc XD
I want these to be my last speakers. I have the Klipsch RB-61 ii’s now. I think I’ll like them. I hope.
Well done. Great review
Cheers!
@Fat Rat
BIG difference in size though!
I will consider buying the speakers to listen to Oscar Chavez Raphael and Sabina
Sean...will these pair well with Marantz 2252b? I like 70s Rock. Or would you have any other recommendations for my system?
Zero Fidelity
Wow!!!
I'm a guy love vinyl and my taste is Pop, Jazz , Soul , R&B , some
Rock . Can you help me about this ? Thank you.
Compare & contrast with the [sound profile of the] RP600M. Yes, there is a size difference, and there is a size difference between the Heresy, Forte and Cornwall as well..
Heresy IV = Bigger. Bolder. More resolving. More even your face. Mo' Bettuh.
Great noise maker. Much better measuring and sounding loudspeakers out there for the money.
I think you name says it all . Great review Sean, cranky people should stay quiet in their more incredible listening room.
I listen to hip hop, rap, pop, and other verities of music. My room size is 27' x 15' x 12'. Between Klipsch heresy IV or B&W 704 S2 speakers which would you recommend and why.
Thanks
Hi Sean great review . Wondering if you could tell me the name of the music clip just before the set up section . Thanks
Martin Calberg - High Strung
Glad you like Klipsch and the Cornwalls. They can be a lot of fun to listen to. Have you spent any meaningful time with the new Heresy IV's?
Here in europe they are more like 4.5k in usd. I’ll stick with my heresyiii for now.
Yeah, I'm in the Netherlands and the price difference makes me sick !!
6k where I live - don't complain!
You list the XTZ Edge A2-300 in the review notes. Curious how they sounded with this particular amp (which I own). Was thinking if too harsh could by-amp with this for the bass and a low watt tube amp for treble.
I am thinking of buying these. Wonder how they pair with a Nad M3 amp?
I have a set of Heresy that probably needs refoamed. Strangs thing it only has 2 screws on the back for connections. I am thinking about pairing a Marantz 1200 with them. Any thoughts?
I'm planning on Heresy 4s with a pair of svs ultra 16 subs. So if Sean could review that setup or possibly svs 4000s that would help me close the deal.
