- Thank you to Ms. Elise Finch you will be forever missed. This was an interview with Ms. Finch catching up with singers behind some of the hits. She had the opportunity to spotlight the “Ladies of SKYY”.
The smash hit “Call Me” put the funk group Skyy at the top of the charts in 1981.
The band was formed in the early ’70s in New York City and fronted by three singing sisters who were born and raised in Brooklyn.
Denise, Dolores and Benita Dunning started singing to their mother’s bedroom mirror as little girls. By the time they graduated high school, they were singing at beauty pageants, which got them noticed by musicians who helped form Skyy.

I just saw them Thurs 11/9/23 and it's beautiful to see many other legends that came out to enjoy and support them!! Everytime I go to their concert there's a legend in the audience and/or backstage! I've seen Lillo Thomas, Gerald Alston, JT Taylor,and sooo many more comes out to see them perform! They put put on a great show!
