As a developer who has to manage his own linux server I cannot tell you how long I have searched for a channel like this. You are the quest reward.

I tried to make several Linux 101 courses in recent months, and all of them failed to delivery attractive and clear content.
I'm very pleased to have found this one.
Even made years ago, it's the very best. I'm really getting the thing with Linux, and I know I won't forget in the future, ´cause I understand the stuff.
    Thanks a lot.

Yep, you mentioned in the end about "numeric" permission. You'd have to go though binary to decimal conversion though.

Thank you, I always thought of this as difficult to understand, but it's actually rather simple. Just 1 thing I am thinking about is... for example in Windows you can individually assign multiple users to a folder, but I sense that in Linux, they haft to be in a group.

Really good video. I have only one note - I think that in some cases you referred to the third permissions triple (chars 8-10) as the permissions for all users, instead of permissions for any other user (excluding the owner of the file and the group that is associated with that file). One specific case is at 12:30, where you explain that although you removed the permissions for the group (g-rwx), you say that everyone still has those permissions, which is not true. If I'm not mistaken, at this point, everyone *else*, beside the users in the group that is associated with the file (since you removed their permission) and beside the owner of the file (since you didn't change his permissions), still has that permission.
In regard to this, I think that it would also be good to better explain the difference between "a" and "o" when using chmod - that "a" means all users, so it will change the permissions for all users and "o" means any other user, so it will not change the permission of the owner of the file and the users group that is associated with the file.
But in general, this was another great video from you!

Giving rwx to a script to others, even though the original script isn't harmful, might not be a good idea. Other users might not be able to create own scripts but since they can edit one which is already executable they can du a lot of harm.
