No team for me will ever replicate those early 90s Canuck teams, but there's something about this group that I haven't felt since then. I know feelings mean nothing, but there's something for me about this 2023-24 team that reminds me a bit of those teams. Quinn's Canucks aren't as big, scary and mean as Trevor's were, but they play hard and you get the sense that they're rarely out of a game. There's no quit in them. In the early 90s, they could be down 4-1 going into a 3rd period and Geoff Courtnall could win it 5-4 in OT on a slap shot (yes, I'm thinking of a specific instance - they might have been playing Minnesota before they went to Dallas).
There’s 4 things needed for the Canucks to win the cup 1. Demco needs 8 regular season shutouts and go into the playoffs humbly confident. 2. Cole and zadorov must be wrecking crews on defense. 3. Hughes must not act like a spoiled baby if things aren’t going his way. 4. Boesser must not miss Petterssons pass to deflect the puck into the net and win the Stanley Cup.
And he’ll be probably on a different team next year, guy bounces around a lot
