The interview process is an insult to their own people. Don't treat your people like babies. Nobody has the right to do that. Even people from Venezuela (a poor country) can just fly to 134 countries, without any nonsense.

Halos di rin ako nakalipad to Ukraine to see my girlfriend i havent met in person yet. It was my first time going out of the country, plus Ukraine was not a common country for Filipino tourists. I showed the officer in the station my invitation letter (which is in Ukrainian) at syempre di nila naintindihan yung nakasulat haha (dun ko lang narealize yon lol). Pinatabi ako, and got interrogated further. 30 mins..10 mins before boarding nandun parin ako. Asked lotss of questions, buti mabait yung naginterrogate sakin and she tried to listen to my explanations. Even showed her our skype video conversations, and fortunately i brought with me some printed screenshots of skype video calls! So i was able to see my girlfriend and spend time with her in Ukraine❤ so dont forget your supporting documents! Nakakatulong ang pagiging paranoid haha😂

immigration officers asking about your 'sweldo' and other personal questions is NORMAL. Whether you like it or not, it's their job to ask you everything about your life to know if you can afford your stay in singapore because it's their job not to let any troublemaking/never-returning filipinos step beyond Ph's borders (which is also why they were asking for your return ticket)-speaking of which, SINGAPORE pa naman yung pupuntahan mo ate girl, one of the richest countries in the world and for someone who's travelling abroad for the first time, doubts from immigration officers are inevitable. They're just doing their job smh.
p.s. sorry i got too worked up, ayoko kase ng mga taong OA. First time niya nga magtravel abroad so bat siya nagrereklamo as if alam na alam niya yung immigration process? ik rin na this is her story time n all pero the way she talked about what happened literally justified her lack of education and common sense.

mknaed sakto ka girl ako nga first time ko out of the country na hold ako Wla akong trabaho ang linagay ko sa source of income ko regular remittance from fiance, kumuha ako ng bank statement of account ko, bank certificate, mga land title ng property ko like deed of sale and dead of absolute mortgage. Return ticket international and local where I came from the province, hinanapan din ako ng mga receipts ng mga remittance sinabi ko hind resibo ang maipakita ko dahil online money transfer via email nung pinakita ko sa immigration officer Xempre Lula ang Lola sa mga pera na pumapasok sakin kahit na nung una mukhang minamata ako Hahhaa lastly Yung conversation namin ng fiance ko binasa nya tlga lahat yun proven na magkakilala at magkarelasyon kami buti nlng wlang mga naughty pics dun hajaja and pictures together of course. So yun basta complete mo lng lahat hind nmn kylnga may trabaho ka basta may sponsor ka lang and Dapat may proof of evidence ka. Lalo na sa Singapore One of the most expensive country in the world for the tourist Kaya mahigpit cla kasi ayaw nila ma tnt kayo sa subrang mahal ng gastusin. Wag kalimutan din hotel booking.

been there too, ate rhaze. It was 2010, i was 12 years old, bound to Singapore too. At Changi Airport, we were in line at the immigration. . I was first in line with my mom, not knowing that would cause me to be "on hold" by the immigration officer.
the officer asked me where I would be living during my stay in Singapore, how much pocket money I have with me, until when will I be staying. everything went well... until he called another officer saying that he should accompany me to the room. that was the room for people on hold. my mom was in line and was also surprised what was happening.
i only realized that i was on hold when i heard another filipina that she was also on hold. stating that she lacks papers and all that. right there, i was so scared of what's going on. i dont even know if i would be able to get out and be with my mom again.
minutes have passed and I heard my mom saying that, "there's my daughter, I'm with her." after that i was released.
siguro nagexplain yung mom ko, we didn't know that would happen. I was a minor and they thought that i was travelling alone, buti nalang naging okay.
lesson learned, if youre a minor dont get to excited to be first in line at the immigration officer HAHAHAHA

don't take it personally if an immigration officer asks you about job/salary. it's part of their job. they ask you those questions to make sure you're going back to the philippines and if you can afford to stay in singapore or wherever you are going. goodluck on your travels!

Katkatana Lover they really ask for your salary especially if you have a tourist visa or traveling for business. They wanted to make sure (like what the comment above said) that you would be able to support your self out of the country and not to stay there and look for a job like what others do, they go out of the country as a tourist and stay there as a TNT. Even permanent residents of canada gets asked those questions when they are trying to get visa going to US. When it comes to immigration there are no “too personal” questions.

I am a first time traveler too as a tourist. As what you've said, you feel hopeless kapag alam mong hindi enough ang documents mong dala. All I have is my passport, two way tickets and a hotel reservation. I don't have ITR or business permits because kakatapos ko lang mag-aral but I was wrong. Ang concern ng immigration officer is your safety. She never asked my bank accounts either. She just wants to know whom I am going to be with and what is our relationship. Yeah, they're nosey and they pry with my private affairs but of course it's for the protection. I can't blame them dahil maraming Pilipino ang nagdadahilan ng tourist visiting pero mag-TNT lang pala. Just be confident, be honest and convince them that it is your right to travel and you are eligible to go to different countries. Dress properly too because that's a plus for them.

jairbear did they asked for any relatives dun sa particular destination na pupuntahan nyo po? like in my case. it was my first time to travel sana to india i have my passport( na bagong bago pa),returning ticket, hotel reservation and of course i have my tourist visa from indian embassy amd approved by phil. embassy but still tgey rejected me for 2 times.. i just cant understand why they still bother about that i hsve a boyfriend there where in fact i'll be going to india for tour.. not for my boyfriend cause he is currently working in qatar he's not in india.. they asked about my student id.. it is validated but still they didnt allow me to board.i have my money with me.. my outfit is quiet enough to convince them.. but still they still asking for a relative and affidavit from phil. embassy with red ribbon.. for what i will get? my goal is to visit india and im not going to stay in any house .. instead i have my hotel reservation.. i just cant understand why are they limitting our dreams to travel..

If you have returning ticket, there is no assurance that you will pass the immigration...
They are looking more of possible ways why you are coming back and returning back again...no 1. If you have business. 2. You have a leave statement from your workplace, you have a permanent job for atleast two years...you are a student and enrolled in the University...what Else I have not mentioned? Another thing, you have a bank statement...for sure thou you will pass the immigration, whether your coming back or not...
I showed my DTI registration, bank statement, status of my business, they even asked How many employees? Then I passed and unfortunately, ended up marrying my husband After visiting him in his country.

      @manilynjacobsen9705 6 років тому

Lhan Lhan hi Lhan lhan, if mag Tour ka lang for five days, hindi masyadong mag ask ang immigration officer, if mag ask sila, definitely mga basic questions like, where do you stay there? Are you staying in the hotel or family? This is to know where you are in case you go missing...be honest where you will stay. And since you are staying for a short period of time...you Can tell them that you want to see and Explore Malaysia, go shopping for a very short time...I had the most freaking immigration questions experienced...Even though i flew back and fort...all you have to do is to answer directly and show documents when being asked?

I mean im not travelling alone because im with my other 3 friends kaso mag isa lang kasi akong babyahe papuntang hongkong kasi iba ang flight sched namin and airlines but with same date naman tapos yung pauwi ko is same kami ng mga friends ko. Yun lang concerned ko kasi solo ako papunta and wala akong work kasi fresh grad ako and gift lang to ng parents ko.

It happened to me on my first trip outside the Philippines in 2015. I was on my way to Hong Kong for a quick getaway with friends. My passport was super new, as in there are no stamps yet. I was asked the same questions as yours, including my salary. I was forced to reveal my salary to the immigration officer so that they would know that I have the financial means to travel. And then eventually I learned that the immigration officers at NAIA do that just to make sure that first time overseas travellers are not victims of human trafficking. And then after that, ok na everytime I travel abroad.

Some even said prepare some documents to prove that you have properties in the country, eh wala naman ako. isa lamang akong pucho2x.haha... but it's great to hear your experience!

But after watching your video, I felt relieved kahit papano and confident to face them. I hope its not too late to say this, but thank you. Yung iba obvious na "for visa or convenience" lang kc ung expat nsa 60yo ung pinay nsa 25yo. On top of that, sometimes the way yung mga pinay magdamit ay ridiculous at higit sa lahat kung makapag english kahit nsa filipino restaurant e pasikat...mali mali nmn ang grammar at may angas pa ung iba...marami na kami na encounter na ganyan dito sa Australia kya natatawa na lang kami...lol

Pag mga first time traveler at wlang kakilala sa ppuntahan nyo ay dapat ang kukunin nyo ay package tour with 2 way ticket plus hotel accomodation and itenerary for travel. Dpat may pera ka dollar n ipapakita just in case n tnungin ka or credit card o debit card. Tumayo ng maayos at maging confident at mag good morning or good evening sa kanila.

    Watching 2019 😂
Remember my first time going to Australia same here I had a new passport luckily my bf was there to guide me.
Nakakakaba yung first time.

Wow,,,, even if it's for safety reasons.. The way they talk is very unprofessional and unethical. Based on your story , they are very rude. In Canada, immigration officers are really strict, but they are nice and very professional. There is a very huge difference in being strict and being rude. Well, you can be strict professionally without being rude, right ? Just saying..😊...

If you think that only your own immigration is capable to hold or offload you for these reasons, you're very wrong. Regardless if you have tourist/visit visa or not, the immigration of your arrival country can deny you entry if you are not able to establish your purpose of travel properly i.e. _present return/onward ticket, hotel bookings, tour itinerary, letter/documents from guarantor (if sponsored)._ Mind you tourist/visit visa does not always guarantee entry, immigration officers both from departure and arrival would still profile you.
Honestly, you have no idea how many returning inadmissible Filipino passengers arrive each day.

I've traveled since year 2000, and the manner and rudeness of these immigration officers were all same as far as I remember. I had a few bad experience with our beloved I.O. in some of my trips but right after 9-11 things got a little stricter. There is a good reason why they need to interrogate FIlipinos and it is for a good cause, but the way and the manner and attitude of this immigration officers during interrogation is way down the line. Most of them really basks in rudeness and boredom-induced poker faces.

Hi ms. Rhaze! I love your video but i have a comment regarding dun sa ang pinas ang pinaka mahigpit sa lahat ng immigration na napuntahan mo. Period. Because of the simple reason na pinoy tayo. The bureau does not intercept foreign nationals for departure kasi wala namang obligation ang philippine government na protektahan sila. Just the same kapag nagtatravel ka sa ibang bansa. Hope this enlightened you. 😀

ibuprofanity I'm, saying that in order to reach a wider audience people tend to use English, the language of commerce. I've seen vloggers making videos whose native language is not English but they use English because they aim to reach a wider audience. There's an Italian lady who lived in Indonesia who can speak Bahasa but her videos are made in English, not Italian or Bahasa. She could have made her videos to appeal to an Italian audience but she will only reach so many people. The maker of this video she uses English but switches back and forth telling her story in Tagalog and English. Well most Filipinos who travel and would be affected by her message tend to speak English at least basic enough because their jobs overseas will require they can communicate in English. And that is who she is trying to reach in her videos not the Filipinos who are having a hard time making ends meet and chances are might never take a trip abroad. She can speak in whatever language she chooses but most successful vloggers use English to reach a wide audience even when it is not their native tongue.

    • @sh3lieMa3
      @sh3lieMa3 8 років тому +1

Wayne Samuel I was talking to the op, but you have a point. If she wants to expand her viewers English should be contemporary. But let's also consider her demographics, it's mainly Filipino women, so Taglish, as it's called, is customary for them. We can't just make others speak a certain language because it's more convenient for us, especially if English is the only language we know. It's kind of rude, you know? But I agree, with you. I would like to see more of her videos in English. Just so she can target wider audiences.

aileen laurentino that's how it is. ika nga. pagsasabak ka sa gera. dapat may bala ka. prove to them that you're leaving the Phils. just for vacation that you'll return back. prepare necessary documents like ITR, COE, Bank Statement/Certificate etc.

Maybe that's because the Philippines was colonized by the Spanish for a decade, so Tagalog in terms of semantics is very much likened to Spanish.

I never said that she doesn't speak good English. Actually she is a good speaker. Like every Filipinos like me, we have some issues in regarding to some English pronunciations, rate of speech and dictions. The proper use of F, V, words with Th, tion/shun and words ending with ed. The fact that we are the 3rd English speakers in the world, we need to be aware of how we speak correctly in English. Cheers-

What is a "katulong" even supposed to look like? Are there standards on how people in different industries are supposed to look like? What is a doctor or a lawyer supposed to look like? If you were an accountant or a sales lady, would you say you "look" like an accountant or a sales lady? Does our president look like a president? Do YOU look like a brainless idiot? It's comments like these and people like you that confirm my beliefs that cavemen still walk among us.
