I just bought a 50mm f1.4 dated 1977 breech lock s.s.c. lens on ebay. It came in the original box ! I could not get the aperture blades to work and the seller let me keep it and refunded my money . I got them to work but only after i opened the lens. I already have a really nice 50mmf1.4 nFD dated 1981. This is a really impressive lens, but i wanted to try the s.s.c. again. I had one a couple years ago.

Canon FDs are true gems! I have 50mm f1.4 and absolutely love it. Would love to try 55mm f1.2 and see how they compare
I was going to buy 55mm F1.2 but chose 50mm 1.4 because I had no experience with Canon FD lenses. I’d definitely wanted to try them side by side

Great! It’s a good lens and very affordable. If you want to use it for video make sure to use fixed ND filter not the variable one
Hey buddy, which focal reducer do you use for your Canon FDs?
It’s called Zhongyi Lens Turbo II Focal Reducer. I found it on EBay and it’s been working pretty good so far
