Such sad news about Richard Kirk's death 😢. Such a great but underrated band.
Love Cabaret Voltaire! Timeless electro funk. Back in the 80's I used to frequent a nightclub in Stoke-on-Trent called "The Place". It was massive and had four dance rooms. The smallest of these played electronic/indie music, and was where those with great music taste hung out. Whenever the DJ played "Sensoria" or "Yashar" there was always a collective mad dash for the floor.
Happy nights of synths and cider 🧡
@@ned900Hi Ned. It was a great venue. Packed out every Friday and Saturday night with over two thousand revellers. Unforgettable but a different world away. It's now a multistorey carpark. Thanks for your reply mate 🖤
The sample is from The Outer Limits episode "Demon With A Glass Hand", written by Harlan Ellison.
For people who enjoy underground music Cabaret Voltaire is not underrated, but very important project. The work of Richard H. Kirk will always be extremely influential.
Crazy that this track came out in 1983! Awesomeness!
There's no way in the history of ANYTHING that this video could possibly receive anything less than five stars. This track/video is complete unadulterated brilliance!
13 yrs ago, they say
they still measure the flow in their mother star circulation units haha
this civvy needs repair (-:
NOW
MY PARENTS MET ON THE DANCEFLOOR TO THIS SONG!!!! 25 YEARS LATER STILL MARRIED!!!!!!!! #YEAHBABYILOVETHE80'S
To me, this song is groundbreaking, it is one of the best and most original song that I have ever heard. I started listening to CV with this this song and it is still their best to me. It's just genius, totally.
Too fantastic. Back in the 80's they shot plenty of their own footage on super 8mm and 16mm, and analog video. Cabs are the best .Ever.
solo la generación que no vivió en carne propia sabe cuán es mi sentir
la nostalgia por la vivencias ajenas es un mal que se extiende por doquier
@@cesargaelperezflores7049 it's 'analogue' kid. ..I like the cabs, but to be honest, they couldn't hold a candle to Fad Gadget lol
40 years on and it’s still awesome 🕺🏼
R.I.P. Richard H. Kirk. 65 years old. What an amazing musician. CV's music is truly brilliant. What more needs to be said?
1982 Classic UK/Sheffield sound....I'm not a patriot but our music makes me proud!
everyone talks of Liverpool or Manchester when it comes to UK music, but Sheffield is just as important
@@Freehardy yeah. I'm not even a brit but there's no country in the world with the same taste and vision as you guys. The years between 70's and 80's are a goldmine alone
you are entitled to feel proud for your country's music as it's the best ever. To me the UK music is the 80s. All my favourite artists are British and CV is one of them. Greetings from Honduras!!!
Sounds great, i always liked this band.😊
Man, I love Cabaret Voltaire. The original version of this song (from 2X45) is so much better than this remix but the video is outstanding.
Terrific brilliant song which reminds me at those beautiful unique eighties!
when you've found something that shazam doesn't recognize you know you have found a hidden gem
This is a perfect track. To me this 1983 remix reminds me of the Belgian New Beat sound which flourished in Belgium around 4 or 5 years later, derived from EBM.
I never tire of the Cabs. Funkiest electronic ever.
God I love this version of Yashar. Personally I wish I could just play this song at the clubs rather than any other version.
Helping me with my housework. Wishing I was back there for a week❤️
Still very impressive C V never left the top of my list, masters of the underground from 78’ industrial , tape manipulations , electronic funk , & so much more , opened the door for many new bands , brilliant ... (-_-)
Classic Cabs. This track has stood the test of time.
It doesn't surprise me that before Front 242 show in Buenos Aires, the support dj's trio played this track.Guess I was one of the few who knew who made that track, and why they played it. ;)
Job Jonge Cabaret Voltaire was one of the pioner of the use of drum machine, and some of the sound of CV was took by Front 242.
They even played some DAF. It seems they knew the deal.
+Ariel Popperl
I heard somewhere one of the members of the group " Hula " was in corent with a member of CV, not ?
fantastic electro, totally stood the test of time
this was my first time of hearing it, and I felt like it was made in the present time
awesome. if you get the chance check out hip hop don't stop by man parrish. that is also a fantastic piece of music that still sounds great.
Thank you for this incredible track upload. Mind-blowing considering the morass it blew past in that era.
The John Robie mix is the one I first heard and fell in love with. This is good though too....I may even have the Robie mix on vinyl...
One of the best songs you'll ever hear in your life. Don't give a shit who you think you are!
Eon sampled the high-pitched femaled vocals for thier 1992 release "Basket Case"...
I love Cabaret Voltaire... amazing as always!
And to think I was brought here by a Taylor Swift misprint 😮
Though it was a different song with the same sample: Soul Vine (70 Billion People) from Plasticity
No shit. They just tried to trick me with the Disney release. I’ll assemble everyone. : ) Edit: If she wants to do a cover…
this is not the original version of this song. It was released in a 2 record gatefold. And I have never been able to find it again. Trust me...the original version is by far one of their best tracks. with a less repetitive beat and more of an organic tribal far east sound, it was always well received when I spun it live. People were like "who's this???!!!" "where can I get it?"... and the fact the CV released SOOOO many records that have gone obscure ,there are still tons of good non Itunes available songs if yer willing to dig the basements of record stores and yer ex new wave neighbors yard sale.
I have these versions that are probably different from all the others.

Wherearertheyhiding?Wherearertheyhiding? Wherearertheyhiding?Wherearertheyhiding? Wherearertheyhiding?
Mon dieu que j'adore se morceau !!! Sa fait partie de ma jeunesse dans une boîte ( le tyky) vive les années 80 et la new wave!!! Dinor.
Awesome song. I have the album "2x45" on vinyl and this is a different mix of Yashar than on the album. This must be the extended dance mix. I love both versions!
Music and Image the perfect combination, always ahead of the game. . .
The dancing moment, I wonder if Severed Heads used the same video as Cabs to their "dead eyes opened" ...?
Check out Peter Murphy " It cuts you up" really good eighties shit! And Kraftwerk! Long live the eighties, class of 87!!
When I entered the club over 25 years ago hearing this track for the 1ste time, I didnt need dope to get high. lol.
Terrific! Brilliant song who reminds my at those super beautiful eighties!
We didn't have the term "Electro" back then. Great band, great song. Love the long version from "2x45" better though.
Blows up my mind every time.
This track/video is so good is brings tears to my eyes ...
Great track and scenes of Sheffield Victoria. Takes me back.
My dad has played this song to me since I was born!
True DaDa Art - i can imagine this projected on to the stage at The Leadmill...
omg! Not heard this for over 20 years! Wow, bloody brilliant. Thanks so much for posting!
Cabaret Voltaire are the pioneers of modern muzak .. thanx for the upload ..
Such an innovative band. You can see were Orbital and The Orb got some of their ideas from!
Over Here, Ah Oh Oh, Oh Oh Ah Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh !!! OVER HERE !!! OVER HERE !!! ARABIAN GIRLS.... _O_V_E_R_ _H_E_R_E_ !!!! Cabaret Voltaire at its best !!!! as well as the non less known I WANT YOU !!!!! How human beings can have such taste of creativity while being different !!!!!
great electric-new wave group of 80s we all love for ever!
a comment on a Ministry video brought me here. Internet 4 life, brah!! :D
the best band in my life Thanks a lot for share !
Thank you Slicing Up Eyeballs!! Sirius XM Dark Wave, ch-31 Sunday nights!! The only place to find this on radio in 2019, sadly!!
Now I finally know where Dynamix II got the "Where are they hiding?" sample used in their track "Sedona" from. So good!
+koerperkontrolle The sample is from an Outer Limits episode titled "Demon with a Glass Hand."
this is a really special one, thanks for posting:)
I forgot how odd Cabaret Voltaire was... Like a Flash Back hearing this.. Think I need a listen to Wilderness by Joy Division to recover. :-)
отличная команда!отличная музяка!
had the original 2x45" version of this, and the john robie rmx, which was INCREDIBLE boring, dont think the NY-mixers really understood the idea of european industrial? but "Ratinger Hof" in Dusseldorf played an industrial-dub version of Yashar, which I never heard before or later.VERY mesmerizing! It could have been their own edit? somebody who knows?
Delirante Música de Baile... Recuerdo haber comprado este maxi-single en 1 tienda de Barcelona, de la calle Tallers, donde vendían música de importación (aún lo conservo). Bonita época ;)
used to go mental to this in the Sheff Leadmill (83 - 85) - genus still love it
Trent: What do you want?
Arch: You, Mr. Trent. Give yourself up. Give yourself up, and we'll let you live.
Trent: What is it you want? What?
Arch: I want the 70 billion earthmen! And you know where they are!
It sounds and looks like EBM that Front 242 made a few years later. Really innovative.
Awesome beat, awesome vocals
1 of my best favourite songs of my lifeeeeeee
THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUU
What a fucking brilliant track
*RIP Richard Kirk*
The drumming on this was the hallmark of mid-late Cabs genius. Adrian Sherwood involved by this point, I cant recall. (I think so, he was ahem instrumental in some of the beats).
So long ago... Who was I then and whom have I become. Was it even real, wish I knew.
This is one of those songs that remain buried deep within your consciousness, only to resurface one again when you randomly encounter it on UA-cam and realize you are old and may have been under some sort of influence the last time you heard this... and never knew the name of the song or the band for that matter but at the particular time you heard this that was what made it so very cccccoooooolllllll............
So unique'and still sounds fresh'35yrs + on.
Ahead of its time as usual from the Cabs...i was groovin' to it when i was 22. At the start of the techno world...awesome.
BRILLIANT,advanced to his time
This song of 1982 is so f…visionary ! Fascinating and terrifying vision of the East that anticipate what will happen 20 years later. It is a spy movie with a paranoid William Burroughs in Bagdad, looking for the green interzone….)
The most underrated band ever
Ferris Bueller had a Cabaret Voltaire poster on his wall.
legendary industrial group.
Love em and other groups like NINE INCH NAILS,FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, DEPECHE MODE, GARY NUMAN, ANGEL SPIT, ALLFLAWS
Carine Melon, where are you? You gave me this song, relating to YMO, Japan et al ...
They're super cool.
RIP Richard, thanks xx
@pescecan8 if you love the Cabs that much, the least you could do is spell their name properly! It's CABARET VOLTAIRE. Which is itself a brilliant name.
Takes me back to about 1983. A hot summer in Manchester.
aunque depeche mode son y seran por siempre los unicos grandes, los verdaderos pioneros de la musica son los cabaret voltaire.
They still perform live 10 Feb. Grauzone Festival Den Haag The Netherlands
So good so timeless!
that is such a cool story. i bet you are proud of them
Thanks for posting this...
Demon with a glass hand ?!? Sounds about the right sorta thing for these Sheffeild spooksters.
MASTER CLASS of STYLE.......
an endless source of inspiration....
It's the abandoned Victoria rail station Sheffield in the 80's
Great industrial music...but cheezy 80's style dancing. LOL!!! Oh how I miss the 80's!
omg I love that I found this one! So good!
@vladhed comes from "DEMON WITH A GLASS HAND," an episode of "THE OUTER LIMITS" from Oct. 17, 1964.
Rest in peace Richard Kirk....
always in search, always new, always evolving, always designing
Best song ever produced by CV. I'm not shure by VID(video stuff), but hey this is Cabaret Volataire. AND THat\IS dADA
CV was a big influence on early Ministry/NIN
Brilliant!
Caberet Voltaire - one of the pioneers of modern dance music. Such an underrated group.
Not underrated, but definitely #4thosewhoKNO
Far Beyond DANCE! MIND ART*
