Bought one 18 months ago with spare chain with spare chain, 1 litre of oil and a fancy Stihl sharpener (used once very good) to prune 8 conifers upto 5 inches thick. Pruned them OK but needed tensioning adjustment quite often. Decided to dig it out today to prune a few shrubs max 3 inches, after about 6 cuts motor started smelling then stopped. Removed cover to check all clear around sprocket and only sawdust oil sludge as expected. While the blade was off tried trigger and nothing but a puff of smoke, didn't last a litre of oil. Should have bought a Stihl in three first place waste of over 100quid. Shame as I've been using Ryobi battery tools (drill, impact, jig saw, recipricating saw and hot glue) for a over 5 years now with no problems at all.

the bar has to point upwards. this is the correct way and never explained. if the bar points up the chain tensioner stays always tight.
was a noob and this mistake did made me hysterical as the chain lost it's tension all the time. after the correct assembly it NEVER fails.

5:36 that chain is way too tight. Needs to have a little bit of slack (should b able to see the bottom of a couple teeth when u pull one down)
