LS855E is a total beast. Closed loop swing is amazing. Those 2 machines are game changers in the way we move wood off steep slopes. Tractionline setup is an awesome package and works really well up in BC for us. Great video.

Great work! This is the best video of tethering I've seen. Incredible swing power on the 855

Absolutely incredible machines, no Wonder the price of lumber so high lol.
You don't operate one of those without going to college and learning about the center of gravity! The Magic Triangle, how to make out a will, what to do if you see a flying log.
Great music choices, no distorted computer crap.

No college needed can't teach someone how to feel what a machine is doing.

You can learn center of gravity without college. A machine like this is learned through time behind the controls and not from several years in a college.

That machine must have some really powerful slew motors.

the bucket is firmly dug into the ground so all the transverse load is carried through the boom to the swing bearing and from there to the end tips of the tracks. If the bucket were in the air the load would be carried by the swing gear.
At least that's how its supposed to be done, I can see in the first clip that he doesn't have the bucket dug in.

@@MotoScootMech I should have been more specific. I was watching the harvester grab trees and pull the whole tree up the hill as it swung around.

So there is about $2m tied up in this setup? Good for say 10,000 hrs of relatively reliable running. Too make it work it's like a helicopter or a crane, you need to be producing at least $1000.00 per hour or better. Is that kinda right?

Foardhook it’s $1.2m for both machines
