Shax Flowers Actually, considering the whole album is inspired by the book Nineteen Eighty Four, and that every song (except the Exogenesis Symphony) is a tribute to a certain episode, this song is about the end of the book, when Winston delivers himself to the Big Brother, adoring him. This song is the most ironic thing ever made by them: put out of context, it is a very beautiful love song; considering the real meaning, it is almost sadic and preverse, yet amazing.
Because the song originally tells the story of Samson and Delilah, I think Matt also gives a perspective for how Samson felt. That fatalistic adoration. The addictive quality of love knowing she may or will hurt him.
