I will always have a soft spot for the first trilogy Optimus Prime design, it was my favorite for the longest time before the Bumblebee movie designs, and I definitely prefer this over the Age of Extinction-The Last Knight design bc it looks more angular and armored, adding to the robotic look

Tlk aoe only has the smokestacks as kibble 2007 rotf dotm Optimus prime has a lot of kibble the kibble makes him armored with truck parts and if a dude doesnt know transformers 2007 rotf dotm prime can think them "Hey that's a robot who transforms into a truck" so yeah it makes him cool.
Well the other one looks like his legs are way too long. Not proportionate
Fingers crossed for a 2007 Megatron design. That was definitely the best of the original trilogy for me.

This particular piece holds a very special place in my heart. 15 year old me in the cinema watching rotf, that forest scene will always go down as one of the best fights in any transformers media. This is such a beautiful piece.

The Bayverse Optimus Prime's design might not be the most beautiful or accurate but he's special to me because he's the Optimus of my childhood and he will always be the no. 1 for me

Between the Bumblebee redesign he got and this, I’m always gonna pick this guy. He’s nostalgic to me and my blend of abstract alien robot design. This is coming from someone that watched tons of G1 as a kid. (The knight version though…ehhh I don’t hate it?)

Great review as always. For me I’m happy with my bumblebee DLX. He looks closer to what I grew up with. This one does look amazing though. Threezero just keeps knocking it out of the park with all their Transformers

As someone who is a huge Transformers fan, I don't necessarily have a favorite design of Optimus Prime, whether it's from the classic animated TV series, the Michael Bay movies, the Transformers video games or the comics. Each design brings something unique and different to the table. Having said that, Threezero definitely knocked it out of the park when it comes to the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime. It looks as if he was pulled straight from the 2009 movie. He definitely has a commanding shelf presence for sure. He has a great sculpt. He's intricately detailed. The paint application is immaculate. There is some nice weathering as well. The figure is impressively articulated and it has a lot of moving parts. I like the accessories that Optimus Prime comes included with. The display stand compliments the piece nicely as a whole. However, as great as the figure is, it was a rather odd choice on Threezero's part to make the chin piece separate, instead of having it sculpted onto the face itself. Other than that, this is an absolutely amazing Optimus Prime figure that has quite an impressive shelf presence. With that aside, thanks once again Justin for another wonderful video. I greatly appreciate the continued hard work. Keep it up!

I personally would love to see Three Zero do the entire line from the first movie. Bumblebee, Optimus, Ironhide, Ratchet, Barricade, Starscream, and Megatron. At least do the Autobots!

Great coverage of this figure! I can absolutely relate to the transformable figures not quite capturing the proportions of Optimus. I've been thinking about that for a while and was so relieved that someone else felt the same lol. It's also probably the main reason I haven't really grabbed any Optimus yet. It's like all of them look kinda off in some way.
So far, the one by Black Apple was the most promising but it turned out to be such a huge letdown. While the re-tooling and engineering of the MPM frame were impressive, they still couldn't fix the proportions and the torso on that thing was laughably huge, giving it that Spongebob proportions LOL. The chest pieces were too big in comparison to his legs and stuck out waaay too much. The thighs were too thin and overall the legs needed to be bulkier. Probably the best part of that version was the back and how they captured the V look of the panels and the rear fenders folding in but the fuel tanks, just like the chest pieces.... were too big. I feel it's really just a problem with the parts scaling/morphing in cgi which obviously just can't happen with a toy but with today's engineering, I'm still hoping we do get a definitive transforming Bayverse Optimus.

Optimus Prime was sadly flanderized in ROTF - TLK where he became aggressive and violent in an over-the-top and exaggerated way.
Prime's portrayal was much better in Transformers (2007) and that's how I remembered Prime as a kid.

I just ordered this figure today. I could have ordered the Last Knight, but the last Knight has no features of a truck and is completely different from all the movies and the original cartoon. I love this Prime, he has features of the previous incarnations and a modern flare !!

I may not collect figures like these, especially since I'm not good being around extremely expensive figures, but I still enjoy watching reviews about them and such, even this one.
Getting to the real point, this is the design I'm always gonna be happy with, it's very nostalgic as it was the 2007 movie that got me into Transformers to begin with, so when someone asks me if I like the Bayverse Optimus Prime or the new movie continuity Prime, I'll always say it's the former, might not look like G1 completely, but it stands out a lot more compared to newer installments which I gotta admit they're literally just taking the "make it look like G1 design all to seriously without feeling like they stand out from each other.

My childhood and introduction to transformers. I understand the complaints about him not being faithful to the g1 design. But as far as I am concerned, this optimus prime to me is like g1 optimus prime to the 1984 kids. This was a must have for me the moment I saw the promo pics last year.

The Bayverse version of Prime did appear in one of the posters of the Bumblebee Movie where Bee and Charlie were standing in front of the sunset and Optimus was there but there were two versions of the poster where Charlie and Bee were standing in front of the sunset and one of them Optimus Was in it
The version with Optimus was never official, just a fan edit. They probably used the shot of Optimus when he's giving his speech at the end of the first movie.

Late to the party I know, but I was looking for a review to help me decide if I wanted to get this guy and your video helped me out! I'll have to check out more of your stuff! One minor quirk, The Bumblebee movie and the Bayverse stuff are two separate continuities. I'm sure you've had a fair share of people barking that already. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
That's awesome, however they are not, the bumblebee film ends with Bee taking on the Camaro alt mode from the 2007 movie, that and the sector 7 connection and Megatron being on Ice. They're in the same continuity

To be honest that is my top 1 figure for optimus prime they nailed it the design and the proportion of the figure it's like a figure pops you know what I mean honestly I know many collectors out there prefer more of a transforming transformer figure but just what justin said if you want a transformer figure that is realistic that is the one period.

This has always been one of my most favorite prime as simple it was my first. And one of the best reviews I've seen on this guy with of course your butter like voice Justin.
All I want now is that I think it's finally time for 3zero to crack open the tf prime design as that for a life long tf fan is the best optimus prime there is!!

I have this version of Optimus Prime and for me it's incredible!! As you said, it's so difficult to choose only one Optimus Prime. Bumblebee version is so cute too, but I had to decided only for one of them. Now, I want to get both of them!!! :)

13:15 No they are not the same character the bayverse is a completely different universe than the one started from the Bumblebee movie,
The Bumblebee stared a reboot, the proof that we got was Unicron, in the bayverse Unicron was earth, but in the new reboot he is a different entity and there are the maximals as well
I mean if you really want to break it down, that unicron is from a different universe and also the future. Who's to say in that future he didn't already emerge from the earth. Also Bee talks in the same way as bayverse, he's still a camaro, prime retains his mouth and arm cannons... there are arguments for either option
@@JustinsCollection but as I said the maximals are still there, and if we were still in the same universe why wouldn’t the maximals help prime and the other autobots like in revenge of the fallen, the fallen was about to destroy the earth for energon and as we know the maximals care about earth as much as the autobots do so why wouldn’t they help, and Unicron doesn’t exist in other universe’s he is the one and only Unicron in all universe’s (according to all the comics) so there is no doubt about that, and the reason I think they still kept the broken voice of bee is because it was iconic (I guess) and yes the bumblebee movie was supposed (key word: supposed) to be the prequel to the Michael bay movies but I think the idea was scrapped since the maximals arrived and Unicron isn’t the earth anymore. (My opinion)

I will have to disagree with your ending remarks, there's actually a figure that transform and it is the best in the market Commander Thunder Leader by Black Apple and Weijiang, this figure is the closest you can have to Threezero but it can actually transform.

Love it. You're going to make me buy it just on the engineering merit alone. Can't wait for the iron patriot dlx and mdlx transformers reviews 👍. Makes me wish threezero had the license for 6th scale iron men. I th I think they might be able to do a better job than HT or at the very least have a better battery system for light up effects. Competition is always good.

It's pretty inaccurate if ur wondering. The chest plate is off by alot and the feet are off too. The head is misproportioned and some will argue the whole chest area is too big.

I've considered getting this figure in the premium scale in the past. And I previously had the premium scale last knight bumblebee figure. Because this isn't as big as their premium scale, it's got to be easier to pose!

I would love to get my hands on this great DLX model, but I am late to the party it seems ... it's out of stock everywhere! I'm quite sure that another production run of this model, or else even better, another version of Optimus Prime based on Transformers 1 (2007) would be an instant hit. Do you have any news @JustinsCollection on whether they are planning any models (especially Optimus) from the first movie? It seems that there are a handsfull of sellers on ebay selling this Optimus, but the prices are sky rocketing :/ Love your vids, look forward for any news on this!
