Join me as I unbox the latest belt of my collection, the classic WWF Intercontinental Championship.
The plates were made in America, hand crafted by Championship Dreams. The leather work was done by AJ Gittings.
HUGE shout out to my belt brother Chris Laguit for selling me this masterpiece! You are the man!
Amazing! This is one of my favorite IC belt, which reminds me when The Rock had it, Stone Cold, HHH and Shawn Michaels, alongside the Big Eagle.
awesome belt. plates are thick and the etching is nice and deep. leather cut is my favorite too for the IC. its that 88-92 style of cut. if you cant get a Parks or Millican, esp. for the classic designs......shit this is definitely the next best thing. looks like the work is quality too. at the end of the day, its all about the happiness of the consumer. if the buyer is happy and satisfied, that's all that matters.

Watching wwf back in the day I always preferred the classic IC belt over the smaller Winged Eagle

It's funny you say that because I just recieved a message from someone on Facebook that said the complete opposite! LOL. That Cory, aka championship dreams, got his plates from ORM. He also was sure the leather was made by someone else until I showed him the stamp on the strap. People like to think they know everything when in fact it seems that no one knows shit! Hahaha.
Regardless, ORM makes great belts, Championship dreams makes great belts. I believe that these were made by Championship dreams because the etching and the non wavey plates are synonymous with american made belts.

Amazing looking belt!!! One thing I did notice, the left inner side plate is pointing in the wrong direction I do believe.
I've seen them done both ways by Milican made belts. Some point to the left, some point inside like mine.

@@naitch1761 First off, I love this belt, but if I'm gonna be honest, no for these two reasons:
1. The main plate is not as curved as my Milican was. The curve on this belt is just a hair too flat for my 100% liking.
2. The leather is good, the tooling is great and so is the cut, but the leather is not as floppy as my Winged eagle. (My WE leather is REALLY floppy)
The IC leather flops, but I belive the leather is too thick for it to truly flop around. Huge difference between my winged eagle and IC.
But you can't tell any of that when it hangs beautifully on a wall. The plates are excellently etched and every bit as deep and detailed as my old Milican!

John, another George Clooney review! I have to believe with all the knowledge I have gained in the hobby that in 2021. Classic Shields makes the best belt. I even believe in my heart that Corey King from Championship Dreams orders plates from Classic Shields and put the belt on his own leather, he even adds a 1 piece belt tip from belt performance. IMHO nobody makes plates any better then CS. Your tag belt is probably the nicest etch belt I have ever seen! Your triple crown is the same as mine. My only suspicion is the lack of curve in plates, but great belt. Let me know about CD vs Classic shields, which way would you go?? Thx

Hey John, if you had to order an ic belt; who has Better plates. Classic shields or Orm. Also, I have recently learned that championship dream gets their plates from Classic Shields and puts them on high quality American leather. Either way you got a steal for 700 bucks. Championship dreams uses the same 4.2mm plates that Classic Shields uses.

Ooof. That's a good question. Both belt makers make a good belt, but CS has their own cnc etching machine and don't have to farm it out like ORM does. That means faster turnaround time. My classic shield tag belt is the best etch belt I own. And I got it in 3 months. With orm you'll probably wait a year but it will be a quality belt as well.
It's a toss up but right now I'd say CS.
Are those black lines down the sides of each side plates cut outs, black bars or just painted in black lines?
If you go full screen on the video, when he gets to the side plates you can definitely see they are painted lines.

Looking at getting a belt. Dave millican ripped me off and took my money but never delivered my belt. What’s the difference between his belt and that wing eagle you have.
Mine was made in 7 months and a fraction of the cost.
Not gonna lie my wwe intercontinental legends Edition etching is almost as deep. Your border lines on the main plate may be a bit deeper but not by much. Im in no way bashing your belt its gorgeous the intercontinental is one of if not my favorite of all time. Id say I like yours over mine its something about the main plate shape and size thats more on point than the wwe shop version. Anyways damn nice purchase enjoy that belt man it's a classic.
I have to say...of all the belts that the wwe shop puts out....the IC belt is by far the best that they sell. I have never seen a legends version of this belt, but the belt on the white strap that they sell looks really good. Throw that belt on real leather and most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference
@@johnjon246 The legends Edition is basically the same plate wise to the white strap version. Only difference is the wwe logos. The Legends version has the old block style just doesn't have the F on it unlike yours. The etching on yours is crisper the wwe shop etching seems rounded off. Im about to get it releathered with a Paul Martin strap that simulated strap on it looks good but you know the rest.😄
@@jasonkidd1689 Gotcha. I've seen and compared my belt to the legends belt and while the legends belt has better etching than its predecessor, it's still not as deep as an american made boot.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Championship Dreams gets their plates from Pakistan. All that American made talk is just wrong. Nowadays Corey orders plates from Custom Shields and is currently having Romeo Anderson re-leather the CS plates. I don’t know who in Pakistan made that particular belt, but it appears on par with a Classic Shields, so it could be them for sure. Far from an American belt maker though. This has been verified by multiple actual belt makers in the US. The belt is a nice belt; just wanted to clear up the misinformation. Those are Pakistani plates.
And I've heard the complete opposite from several american belt makers. Think whatever you want to think...but there is no pakistani belt maker who's art and etching looks identical to mine. Show me proof and then we can talk.
MrJuanderfull it’s probably a cast plate like Fandu uses. Those are also made in Pakistan. Keep in mind Classic Shields is a Pakistani company and they make belts on par with Millican etc.
Yeah that belt is made by Classic Shields. I know there work anywhere. I think the reason he thinks that Pakistan belts are bad is because every has an ORM belt. ORM is horrible and there “HD” belts are not actually HD.

About 5.2 lbs
Plates are pretty good but not the best. A few plating issues but nothing outstanding. Overall let down imo on the leather job. AJ Gittings if he wants to be respected in the hobby needs a proper stamp
Plating does have some minor blemishes. Overall though etching is Crisp and no wavey plates. The leather could have been better. It's not floppy enough for my liking.

@@johnjon246 I bet you think those kids on UA-cam that have those walls of “toy” replica belts are soooo cool. We don’t have toys. These are actually trophy belts as in the whole reason wrestlers wear belts to begin with. Trophies were to bulky to carry from town to town so they started with belt buckles and ended up with shields on genuine cowhide bootstrap (after they ate the cow). But hey u keep playing with ur over priced $400 China made toys on plastic straps 🤙🏽🤙🏽
