I feel like I speak for some others when I say this but I just want to see John and Ike doing what they love to do while also having a blast. Small shed or big workshop your content is awesome and entertaining! Keep it up!
If you get a big shop, just upscale your DIY creativity. If you stick to the small shop, improvise and adapt, in a diy fashion to overcome. (Collapsable, and mobile workstations are epic, maybe even build a welding truck, instead of welding table.) BUT at the end of the day, do what brings the biggest smiles, it's John and Ike we fell in love with, not the garage.
I have enjoyed watching you guys "progress" over the years. John's family garage was actually a pretty nice space, I think that you should build something a bit easier to work in with but you don't have to build the ultimate "pro" set up. Find a good middle ground that helps you progress without leaving all of your viewers in the dust.
Completely agree a new solid slab with an well insulated building would be all you need! Keep it small and simple with some comforts that are well deserved
Save your money keep doing what your doing. I like the “on the floor” builds. Watching you do it like that gives others confidence to do it like that as well.
And makes it harder, and less efficient to produce a better end product. Makes it more likely to extend the time it takes to make a video. When saving money in a situation like this you are spending time. Time that could be spent toward producing better content.
To me your location means little, I’m here for the personalities and the amazing builds, what ever you do needs to feel right for you and we will all be here to support
I say it's a disaster! Sorry guys just my personal opinion I don't like it doesn't look good and I understand your building on a budget but he looks like a bag of weiners
I feel that you recognizing your DIY theme and how it is perceived by others is admirable. I love the unorthodox methods you use, because I don't have access to the fancy stuff myself, (heck, I'm still trying to find a mini bike chassis for my first build) so it's encouraging. However, everyone grows in life. How you do a job is no different, so it's reasonable and okay to grow your skills, tools, and location. As others have said, don't lose sight of where you came from, hold onto that DIY mentality. I don't want to see you both get frustrated over the small stuff.
Im not sure they should RBG did that and now he seems not to be as happy , like when i first started watching his channel and i dont watch him much now because like john said its about showing that anyone can do this and if they get a welding table and all the expensive equipment it doesnt feel like im hanging with friends when i watch also it wont inspire people who are back yard builders it will be another same old build show with tools us hobbiest will never be able to buy . I Get it they shouldnt be worken on the ground but i can say im almost 50 and still work off the ground lol . What doesnt kill ya makes ya stronger , exept bears ,,,bears will kill ya ...
Do both and then compare them???? Sounds like a whole lot of repetition, like twin ducartis??? One build professionally, one built from scratch??? Then compare them thoroughly n teach a diy method that more closely performs like professional builds. Yes, I just doubled your work load, but I also just doubled your content.
I get the “Home shop / DIY” vibe. But I think you should abandon that thought and go big. It’s all about the creativity of the build. And the bigger and better the tools, the better and more outlandish the builds! - GO BIG!
For me personally, I like the atmosphere and environment feel of your guys new small shop. I would say, just keep doing what you're doing and go with the flow. If opportunities pop up for a nicer place or some new equipment that is feasible, do it, but don't force anything you're not sure about. Whether you want to go with a more professional shop feel, or diy garage tuners style, I think you'll do great either way as long as you keep building fun stuff that makes you happy / excited, because that's what gets us hyped too. I don't have any karts, mini-bikes, motorcycles, or anything of the sort, I'm just a car guy. But watching you guys whip out these fun little projects so quick, getting new tools / parts, then having a blast ripping them around the yard is what I'm here for regardless of what it all looks like. That said, I totally understand the desire to want to have your own professional shop that feels more like a business than a garage, I've totally been there. But I do think the "professionalism" part is a lot more important from a business standpoint if you're trying to bring in customers to build projects for, which is the angle you see a lot of shop owner you tubers going for, than it is if you're just trying to bring in viewers--- . I don't think viewers will care nearly as much how professional your space looks as it would someone who is paying you to do work for them. That said, from a sponsorship perspective, you might have more opportunities in a bigger more business-like space from companies looking to get there name out there and send you free parts. But you guys don't seem to have a ton of trouble with that either. Who knows, just trying to give yall some feedback. Love the content you're putting out either way. Just keep having fun.
It’s the evolution of your brand to grow into a bigger shop. I would love to see you and Ike progress as you get better equipment. At the same time you could feature videos with tips, techniques and hacks for the DIYer in their garage.
It's pretty impressive to see the awesome builds they come up with while using basic tools and equipment, their skills really help them get good results with limited resources. It'd be nice to see what they could build with a bigger budget and a few new tools in the shop,we'd get to see them put their skills to good use and they would be way more motivated to build up a bad ass machine. Hopefully their hard work will pay off and they'll be lucky enough to get a sponsor or two in the future to help them keep progressing and growing their skill set.
@@dhpoarsWhy compare apples and oranges?? John and Isaac are nothing near The Chip Foose . They actually have a personality. And their drawing skills will never compare. Shut your fingers up and give them POSITIVE comments and ideas.
There's hundreds of channels building their projects in "pro" garages. Its your real world approach with every day tools that sets you apart and keeps me watching y'all. Just my 2 CENTS.
Dang I feel where you’re coming from 😬, but look at it this way. Your parents house had a very nice garage and yes you guys only had so much space to work in there but you guys still kept the diy content no matter what shop you guys where in. But being in a more comfortable, stable and nicer work space would definitely help you guys out physically and mentally 💯 I think the viewers would love to see the whole process of everything coming together, you guys deserve it and deserve to be in a more comfortable spot 💯 Just don’t start ordering all these expensive parts for the builds though because like ike said the diy projects is what kinda got you guys here
I took a welding shop at a technical college where the tables were made from 3 1/2 inch tubes welded to a base with holes in the corners of it for concrete screws to go through. For the table they used a thin sheet of metal (i think it was just 3/16 carbon steel with some angle iron underneath for strength. Itd be a pretty simple build and it would stick with the DIY theme
Sweet! Love the “average guy” vids, but as with everything, we grow, we get smarter, we invest in tools and equipment, and get more advanced. I love watching y’all because of your personalities and style of video. I subscribe to others but rarely watch their videos, because they don’t really interest me. Go ahead and do what you want! We all start small and work our way up!!!
Agreed! I think a referral back to earlier bids for people. “Now we realize everyone doesn’t have this type of equipment” link video “this is how we did this before...
Couldnt have said it better myself these guys are the reason i asked for a welder for my 15th christmas and started bulding minibikes with my friend in his garage.LOVE THE VIDS!!!@!!!!!!!!
Building a bigger shop to store your builds seems like a necessary and inevitable expense if you want to keep your projects. Just because you upgrade your location doesn’t mean you have to change your work style. You can always do multiple projects - simple DIY style in the old shed and other more professional builds in the new shop. Either way, don’t lose your roots! It’s what we love about this channel!
I have been watching your channel for about 5 years now. I absolutely. Want to see you build a new shop. I love the builds y'all have been doing but you can only build so many small carts and honestly my favorite builds have been things like the yellow street legal golf cart, the dragster the cross cart and the 88mph cart. I would love to see what y'all can do with proper tools . I would not think negatively about maybe taking on a tool sponsor and getting set up with better welding and fabrication tools. You don't need to get top line pro tools. But John's dads setup was really nice and seeing something like that but with maybe a little more room would be great. I want to see what kind of builds you can make. I look forward to each and every upload. Hope this helps steer you in the right direction. I feel that you can only make so many diy backyard type carts. Thanks for all the years of entertainment .
Heck yes, it is time for some Cars and Cameras! For me, I think you guys should have both shops. Have the storage in the small one, and in the big one, you can do both. That's my idea. Thanks!
I like the feel of the "small" garage builds... Shows the viewers anyone can build something if they try... Big shop also sounds like a BIG expense !!!
@@connectionlost1063 That's pretty much what I was thinking. Build a nice pole barn with room to park cars and a decent shop. But yeah build a minibike or a kart in the old building so people on a budget can have some inspiration too.
I agree with what quite a few others are saying, go for the best workshop you can. Your skills and the scope of your projects are growing all the time. Having the right shop and tools to continue to grow would be great for your channel and for all of us that love watching what you can make happen. This doesn't have to stop you from doing down and dirty hand builds. Keep up the great work!
That is what I would do... build the jigs needed for framing DIY showing the work and how to build it... I wouldnt just do a DIY framing table... I would have an adjustable setup with the ability to expand your build sizes or make small builds... to be honest I enjoy the DIY aspect of what you do...
John - part of the charm of your channel is watching you guys grow and develop your skill sets. Growing into a bigger facility with better tools will not make the channel lose its charm. On the contrary, we would get to ride along with you, continue to watch you develop, and experience your successes with you. You and Isaac make the channel, not the facility or janky tools. Don't hold yourselves back. We would love to see you continue what you have done thus far - grow, develop, and succeed!
My .02 on growing into using professional tools an equipment is that you should slowly transition. It only make sense to avoid stifling your growth for the sake of sticking with huge limitations. Throw diy stuff in here and there, and refer to your earlier videos for beginners. Show us how incredible your creations can get from your humble beginnings after years of grinding (literally lol). A fan is someone who roots for a person or team through all of their ups and downs. If you have the means to, go big, I'll be here rooting for you guys.
That's a tough question! I have been following you guys from the start and love the "it'll be fine" method but, I would also love to see you guys have an actual proper shop. I would love to see you guys have a bigger and better shop but, still keeping the DIY approach.
You definitely need a bigger shop. There is no reason to build on the floor, but if you want it to feel more DIY, build your own frame/welding table. Keep the machinery modest.
Although I was originally attracted to this channel for the DIY aspect, I think the channel could be even better with a bigger shop. Continuing your growth as builders is something I'd like to see
engineering on the fly. one reason you guys are some much fun to watch. you could make the trailing arms with an L shaped bracket on the front to mount the shocks and lay the coil overs horizontally along the frame. some long travel, off road race trucks do it that way. it saves space, and redirects the forces from the springs, making for a more stable, less bouncy ride.
Personally, I like the "two guys in a shed" feel C&C has. For storage, look into buying a shipping container. I bought a 48 foot container last year for $3k delivered. I'd definitely agree you guys need a fab table, but not some ridiculously expensive plate table. Some 4x4s, 2x4s, 3/4" plywood, and a piece of sheet metal to cover the top and you're golden. Tools wise, a proper shop compressor, a small band saw, and some sort of belt grinder would round out what you have now. Look around, used equipment sells for a fraction of new and with the economy taking a dump I'd expect there to be a lot of equipment becoming available.
Notice it happened when John got in front of the camera more? Don't get me wrong John is a good guy but Ike is way more likable and knowledgeable. It just seems uncomfortable with John, seems like everything is super scripted and takes a few takes to get it in the can.
I’m digging the music in the video today! I like that you guys do budget builds in old shops with normal tools. It’s inspired me and countless others to build our own projects because we see it’s doable with what we have. It would be cool to see at least 1 build in a badass shop though! (Maybe a 4x4 powerwheels)🤷🏻♂️
I been watching you guys for what feels like a few years now. The reason is the fun stuff you build along with the personalities. I’m not here for high tech or extreme craftsmanship. That being said, the size of the shop doesn’t have to dictate the content or the personality. I’m sure you would like to grow in space and skill. Do that! At the end of it all, you have been chasing your dreams and fulfilling them. Just keep moving forward and don’t worry about us. Do what makes you happy.
I think a big pole barn with a heated space carved out for a shop would be the best of both worlds. If you go big with a project, you would have the room for it and plenty of storage for all the past, current and future projects. You already have expanded beyond simple DIY. How many people have a pro tubing bender, notcher, etc? Keep growing!
I’m old but my knees hurt from watching you guys work on the floor for years lol. At least some work tables would be good. Your knees will thank you down the road.
I think that the budget DIY builds are what makes Cars and Cameras the great channel it is, but I say that if you want to build a bigger shop with more tools, then go for it! I personally don't know how I would live without my 40 by 75 foot shop, but I use it for storage as well. I guess that a bigger shop would give you guys some storage space for your builds too. I also think that you can still do small builds in a big shop. Just because you have a nice welding table doesn't mean you can't do builds on the floor every once in a while.
You guys have earned the right to do whatever makes things easier. The “DIY friendly” attitude will always be in the DNA of CAC. Y’all have posted twice a week for years now. If a beginner wants to see a more novice approach, they can start from the beginning of the channel. You guys rock and the progression of this channel should be what subscribers want to see!
Gday at the end of the day you are running a business and all business need to grow to keep going . And you can always build on the floor of a bigger shop🇦🇺
Just what I wanted to say do the pro shop but nothing is stopping you to do a DIY build. You know if you have the right tools job goes right quick but sometimes being MacGyver is fun too.
Hey guys! I would have to say, keep your current formula. Yours was the first fab channel I started watching, and it's the one I keep coming back to. I like the chemistry between Jon and Ike and like that you guys build with the best of them using a DIY attitude and ingenuity. You are able to build without the more expensive tools and equipment but still turn out an outstanding product. I like to see the natural progression of ya'lls growth, just don't try to grow too fast and outpace your income. Keeps to your roots of on the fly engineering and a can-do attitude using what you have on hand. It is easy to build anything if you order all the parts off the shelf. It is much harder to do it using recycled parts like so many of us have to do. Keep up the good work!
I feel like you guys can do what you want to do and make us (the viewers) happy in a bigger shop. Just because you have a bigger shop doesn't mean we can't also attempt what you are doing. The shop will give you more space to spread out and more working room, but I would assume the projects you're building will still be the same. As long as we can all follow along at home and do our best to use your videos as guides, I feel like we will all be very satisfied. Its not down to the size of your shop, its ultimately down to the simplicity of your builds and the tools use use to make them happen. So long as you guys keep it straight forward and easy to follow, I feel like we will all be good.
I love the DIY in the garage type. Gives me hope I could do the same one day. But growth is good and as long as y'all keep the same mentality, then the videos will still be good.
@@randyhertzberg7549 you really believe that over cooked trumpism garbage? Because its the Rs that want all power at all costs. You MAGA-Tards are getting people killed.
You guys are an absolute inspiration to anybody. You certainly have grown my knowledge and you should decide what is best for you guys growing. Make moves that help your future👍 Also I love the dukarty BRING IT BACK PLEASE. I'm waiting for the cross kart vs dukart on tar 🤣🤣👍 Ike and you John are the best
I think its about the balance between both DIY and a 'professional' style shop. Your probably not going to be able to please everyone but the majority will still be watching and loving the channel no matter what you guys decide! Either way this is a huge step in the right direction!
Really appreciate how far you guys have come with your builds and I agree, you have what it takes to upskill with new tools and make bigger and better builds. What I propose is to build the larger shop that will help you guys build those big projects, but at the same time keep the little shop to mix it up and have some content that is very diy, using what resources you have laying around. We want to see you guys make progress so you can look back one day and go hey, classic cars and cameras was a great time but look at how far we have come!
Regarding a bigger shop, there's nothing wrong with scaling up your existing model of creativity, but you don't have to go all fancy-shmancy with your equipment either; simply building a larger space would give y'all room to stretch your proverbial legs and continue to do what you do. Just my two cents. =^)
My business partner and I have been fighting growth since the beginning. More work, more bills, more expectations. It brings me joy watching you guys do a lot with a little and experiencing “it”ll be fine” please keep building in the old shop
If you're in a position to be able to build a larger shop and get better equipment...go for it!!! With a bigger shop it allows the space to do whatever you like. If you and Ike want to build hi-tech you can. If you want to build old school, just use a smaller portion of the shop and select the basic tools to get'er done. It opens up your possibilities to grow and be more creative, while still allowing you to build how you want. You guys will still be who everyone tunes into to see what you're going to come up with next! Go for it if the opportunity is there!
I built buggies for 40 years in my driveway... my last one has 80" WB with 40 " tires, FI V8, 36" travel at each wheel, and a 120:1 crawl ratio... save your money for projects, sir
Really thinking about making a Cars & Cameras & Bloopers reel just to have some fun with my day. Already thinking of a few choice clips to throw in there. What do ya think Ike & John?
I love the "get it done" attitude and resourcefulness of the way you guys have been doing things. You've got more tools than I do it's fantastic seeing the results you create. I'd also love to see you guys go balls out with a shop and tools and parts. I feel like your creativity and problem solving will serve you either way, and I look forward to whatever you guys choose for yourselves.
Look into a cantilever setup for the rear to give y'all the travel you are looking for. As far as the shop, y'all have made an enterprise from the diy and simple tools standpoint. Acquiring a bender and a welding table wouldn't be out of the question for growing. I think as long as you keep it relatable to us DIYers you will be good to go. Keep up the work!
I wouldn’t do a 2 story because of ease of access to everything is crippled such as moving material or carts up and down stairs or even via a block and tackle safety would be dismissed
@@kollinknack9288 A ramp would be a better choice. Easy to maintain. The big problem with a 2 story is taxes. For what it would cost it is not practical. A 30X50 is a nice 2 stall garage it is about the same size as what they just moved out of. As for storage a tin shed would be a better choice and could be added later when the money and growth are better.
I love the diy nature of your builds. It's common man's way of enjoying the sport. But as with everything we are striving to more capable. Mechanics buys better tooling, shops increase in size as their owners skills increase. It's natural evolution. I found you guys because I can relate to your builds, but I would love to see you evolve as does your shop. Your skills have increased but you have stayed humble, even with your lives exposed on youtube. I will follow no matter how "professional" you become. Keep up the great work.
More space is always awesome. Just because you get more space doesn’t mean you need to get rid of that DIY feeling. You’ve got it exactly right though, you create a DIY feeling and show people they can do it. No matter what you do just remember that you’ve gotten this far doing things the hard way, so it may just be worth it to keep them going that way.
I do like the small place, however, i do understand your reasoning for a larger more professional place you could do in the future. As long as it is on the new property tho, cus that place is sick
Keep it small and relatable. Take a look around and the more “success” a channel has the less attractive they become. Stick with what has gotten you here.
Agree. The other channels keep one upping themselves to the point i will never do what they are. And as such, I barely watch them now. But I'm still watching you religiously.
We've seen you do the dirty in the garage style of work I think it's time to grow up and do a big boy shop... Put those hard lessons to work in an easier atmosphere
everyone who watches cars & cameras videos loves it. we watch for a reason. the diy is awesome and authentic but then again you guys have to be safe and have trust in your tools and working space. you won’t loose past viewers for moving forward and enhancing your skills and building equipment. it will make more people come and see you guys have professionalism. i love you guys live it up 40x60 🙇🏼♂️🌎💚
There are plenty of UA-cam channels that have a fully professional setup that I could watch but I have stuck with you guys over the years because of your do it on a budget approach.
DIY is nice and all I we all appreciate it but I feel as if it's time for you guys to get real serious and build a big shop that's not falling apart with more professional equipment so that way you can build the things you can't build with a DIY set up
You guys deserve a nice shop. As a channel you’ve evolved to bigger and more complex projects, it makes sense for your facility to do the same. You’ve got a couple years worth of content already locked in from the little shops, so new followers have that content at their disposal. As a long time follower, I’d love to see you guys advance. And I look forward to videos following the process.
You can still be low budget and DIY from a bigger workspace, you can always continue your style. A larger shop with some more tools would not hurt your builds, I think sharing the passion of building your own projects and being excited about the experience as a whole is important, and you both show that with your passion. As long as you keep building and sharing the fun, I will keep watching and enjoying.
the size of the shop doesnt change the mindset of how you build or what style makes you enjoy building. i grew up building all sorts of projects in a 60x90 shop with my step dad we built rat rods mini trucks go carts snowmobiles all on the DIY budget friendly approach with some harbor freight tools (modified to work better) and we had sooooo much fun building everything but the size of the shop only allowed us to have more fun and not have to worry about stepping over everything. progress in a way that makes you happy your viewers like myself wanna see rad shit either way
You guys do things the same way I do, in the garage with what you have on hand an innovate and I don't think that will change regardless of your shop size, that's what make you Cars and Cameras. With that being said, a pole building and concrete floor are natural upgrades and add value to the property, two good saw horses and some straight wood or metal can become an amazingly versatile bench/jig. Whichever way you go it will always be John and Isaac doing what you do best! Keep up the great work!!
I'll start by saying you guys got me hooked on UA-cam. Any comments from this point forward is not Hating. In fact you inspire me. Point being you ask for comments... This rear suspension video was hard to watch. My gut feeling is big changes in a short time equals lost of focus. In 59 years my best advice is list to people that have been there done that. Then make your own decisions how that applies to your situation. Myself I wanted my dad to extend the forks on my TRICYCLE when I was four, he said "well than figure it out" I still remember hack sawing the forks off bigger TRICYCLE and sliding them over the CHOPPED TRICYCLE forks. This is 1965. When I asked my Dad if he would weld it for me he said "WHAT are you talking about " so I explained that when I tried to pop a wheelie the the front wheel kept falling off! 55 years later image the things with wheels I have repurposed. And none of them have killed me. Yet! As previously mentioned I'm old I don't do social media in fact I have never commented to anyone on any site. Guess what makes you guys special. I'm not interested in any back and forth in the comments section. But would enjoy personal exchange of information. Fabrication on my side Video tech your... YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE OLD TO TEACH
From a guy who fabricates items to keep commercial HVAC and related equipment and also do some car and motorcycle fabrication in my garage and yard, I would agree that if you expand and have some nice high end equipment, It WILL make your builds easier and will also turn off a lot of viewers, The pure satisfaction and motivation many will get by watching you use wooden blocks to hold something up while mocking a mart in build trust in both you and the viewers abilities to work with what they have, I always love when guys come to me to tear something apart and rebuild with common items they have been looking at for years, They walk away proud of them selves and their accomplishments, Grab a bigger space or build something nice onto what you have just as you have altered the Karts and bikes into something you like better, Do the same with the shop and keep the followers you have and you will gain more with your humble demeanor, Just my 2c,
I can understand you guys want to grow, but I personally have always loved the "it'll be fine" attitude and it has always been fine, I love the way everything you guys do is so simple, kinda like something most father and sons can achieve in their own garage with minimal tools, that's why I love this channel so much! I mean look at the cross cart 🤷🏼♂️ awesome machine built with minimal tools, a goal I'm sure most people are willing to try because you guys showed that it can be done, either way I'll always watch you guys, love the channel and keep up the great work 💪🏼 Edit: like some of the comments say, maybe you could go semi pro and build everything you need with minimal tools, but I honestly do love the simplicity of your channel
Maybe do some collaborations with other channels to get the feel of things? Might get a feel for working with the bigger more expensive stuff and help you figure out if it's something you want. You've come along way just doing what you love, if you want to push your boundaries and learn then do it. That's part of the DIY experience. I personally watch your channel not just to learn but because it's fun to see someone do what I want to someday. Having a big shop is something I want some day.
Build a bigger shop for bigger projects and storage. Keep the little one for the small, easier stuff. BTW, due to your channel I now have my desire back for go kart related projects. My grandson and I have rebuilt 2 go karts since I found you guys. It has given me the chance to teach him basic mechanics. You guys have brought us together, MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE, with this common interest. My dad got me interested in mechanics at an early age. It's great that I can pass my skills on to my grandson and have a blast together while doing it. It's not so much the riding together, although that is fun of course, as it is spending the time together that matters the most. Thank you
I've been watching you guys for I guess 5 years now. I like what someone said about the nice, big shop, but with a home made welding table. John & Ike, y'all guys are what make your content enjoyable. UA-cam has suggested I look at some other UA-camrs channels for go cart builds and you guys have been my goto, only subbed channel for go cart builds.
I would love to be able to see you guys tackle stuff more efficiently, but at the same time I really do think my heart is in this channel because you guys are so DIY. There's a lot of shop channels out there flashing their money. But I think you guys have always done a good job with inspiring us common Folk. do what you need to do, but don't lose your opportunities to say "it'll be fine"
You and Ike have a legacy of building machines that are fun and built quickly. And having fun. Yes move on up to a bigger shop with more tools! Get off the floor and build a few workbenches, get a welding table and other tools that make building quick a lot simpler. Keep it fun & you will hit a million subs and then some. Thanks for investing your time to make these videos, been watching and enjoying for years. You guys make our day more than you realize.
Hey, you guys have been an inspiration for a lot of my own personal builds. Keep doing the great content that you’ve been doing! Also moving the shop to say a 30 x 30 pole barn wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Having a high ceiling might also come in handy. Use this existing shop to store all your previous builds in. And who knows maybe you guys would turn into your own go power sports.👍
My personal opinion is that you should tear down the current building, and then build a larger 50x50 building for an example. Gives you plenty on room for new equipment and for housing the projects inside. It's been great to see your progression throughout the years, you guys deserve it
You guys are growing a builder and i think you guys have hit your limit on what 2 guys can do in a shop with simple tools. Getting a bigger place and better tools does not change what you are doing on this channel it only improves it. So please i think and Im sure most of you viewers think as well we would love to see what you guys could do with some upgrades. Cant wait to see what the future has in store for you and your channel!!!!! Dont worry it will be fine lolz
My take on your situation is the old shop was set up as you went along so the skills were built with they way you had things there. This new place is missing alot of tools and equipment your used to. A big shiny new shop would be amazing it's ever ones dream, but as you mention your things is DIY. I suggest taking a page out of grind hard plumbing and building a welding bench for this space. They have a small shop but have used the space efficiently enough to get great skills and content made. Keep at it guys love every video you make and look forward to this new build evolveing in to a beast.
I’ve been watching you two guys for so long. I have really appreciated the DIY projects and the low budget builds. I was thinking like man if these guys had a good shop with good equipment they could really make something nice. So maybe you could do two different series: A budget themed series, and A more “professionally” made series. That way you can let yourself grow as a creator but still maintain a balance of what you do best. Keep up the amazing videos and good luck.
John and Isac, you guys are truly an inspiration for us guys trying to build our sons and daughters or even ourselves something to be proud of without spending a great deal of money and learn something at the same time, keep up the great work and bids, cheers
A big part of the joy I get from your content is your joy in the doing of it. If you'd enjoy a proper shop more then go for it. If so maybe challenge yourself to a garage build once in a while.
(Collapsable, and mobile workstations are epic, maybe even build a welding truck, instead of welding table.)
BUT at the end of the day, do what brings the biggest smiles, it's John and Ike we fell in love with, not the garage.
Spot on !
I agree 100%
Agree
Completely agree a new solid slab with an well insulated building would be all you need! Keep it small and simple with some comforts that are well deserved
Well said.....
Save your money keep doing what your doing. I like the “on the floor” builds. Watching you do it like that gives others confidence to do it like that as well.
I totally agree, keep it small for the normal guy.
Agreed👍✌🖖
And makes it harder, and less efficient to produce a better end product. Makes it more likely to extend the time it takes to make a video. When saving money in a situation like this you are spending time. Time that could be spent toward producing better content.
Totally agree as well
Agree
To me your location means little, I’m here for the personalities and the amazing builds, what ever you do needs to feel right for you and we will all be here to support
ITS AN EASY QUESTION TO ANSWER MAN, BUILD A BIGGER ONE, AND STILL BE DIY FRIENDLY!!!
Its ok you dont have to yell i agree with ya
Caps lock broke?
I say it's a disaster! Sorry guys just my personal opinion I don't like it doesn't look good and I understand your building on a budget but he looks like a bag of weiners
Agreed!
Mike Armstrong the cross cart was one of them and it looks like a beast, bigger tires would make it look better though.
Excellent comment
I couldn't have said it any better myself Thanks
Well said 🤟🤟
Absolutely
I think yall have made enough cool stuff on the ground, in the dirt. Get a comfortable shop with a proper table to set jigs. It's time!
Do both “pro” and “diy” projects. I’d really like to see how the trophy cart would turn out with a legit long travel suspension
Best idea I've read so far
I was just about to say the same thing. Both would be good.
I hope they do this one
Hell yeah! Long travel suspension to soak up the bumps while flying at high speeds, that is a great idea!
As long as stick with the "it'll be fine" and "for testing purposes only " mantra, a bigger space would be awesome! I'd go for it!!
We have to be the first people to try to use Miata shocks for a trophy truck. We have new ones on the way!
h
Great
Nice
Can’t waittt, keep it up you guys are awesome!
You guys are killen it. One of the things i like about yall is that you do what you do with watcha got. Dig it✌🤘🖖much like my other favorite GHP.
It’s the evolution of your brand to grow into a bigger shop. I would love to see you and Ike progress as you get better equipment. At the same time you could feature videos with tips, techniques and hacks for the DIYer in their garage.
That's the things as your work improves your toolset is going to grow naturally
it's funny because I just watched this video and it seems their build quality and video quality has gone backwards,
It's pretty impressive to see the awesome builds they come up with while using basic tools and equipment, their skills really help them get good results with limited resources.
I really like the DIY/amateur side of this channel, it's the reason I started watching. Smallscale = funscale
😂👍✌🖖
But with a bigger shop they may be able to produce not only more content but higher quality!
But being in a more comfortable, stable and nicer work space would definitely help you guys out physically and mentally 💯 I think the viewers would love to see the whole process of everything coming together, you guys deserve it and deserve to be in a more comfortable spot 💯 Just don’t start ordering all these expensive parts for the builds though because like ike said the diy projects is what kinda got you guys here
Try to find the middle ground, larger scaled but with some home brew equipment I.E homemade welding table ( could be a mini series)
I like the homemade welding table idea!
You shold do both maybe some things can be in the "pro" shop and some in the "diy" shop
Agreed - there's room/interest here for both the elaborate ground-up projects that need some precision and quick 'n dirty restorations.
This is what I came to say.
yup
This is the best answer. Do both. It's time to advance and still have fun doing the DIY stuff.
Best answer, IMO.
Exactly how I feel. I started woodworking in my garage and grew it into a 10,000 square foot operation as I gained experience and customers.
VA Outdoors Sportsman I tried to say the same thing... well said!
Do both have an area for diy and have a more professional are and use it to start another channel
Thanks!
Do us all a favor and drop a 70 mm turbo in it its for fuel efficiency
I like the feel of the "small" garage builds... Shows the viewers anyone can build something if they try... Big shop also sounds like a BIG expense !!!
DEAN IS HERE could always still do the small builds in the current shop and title them ‘garage builds’ maybe
@@connectionlost1063 That's pretty much what I was thinking. Build a nice pole barn with room to park cars and a decent shop. But yeah build a minibike or a kart in the old building so people on a budget can have some inspiration too.
Dean you are here also jeeves stovepipeeee
I agree with what quite a few others are saying, go for the best workshop you can. Your skills and the scope of your projects are growing all the time. Having the right shop and tools to continue to grow would be great for your channel and for all of us that love watching what you can make happen. This doesn't have to stop you from doing down and dirty hand builds.
Keep up the great work!
There’s a ton of ppl that upgrade their shocks on Polaris rzrs... I’d look for some used rzr shocks
Build a diy welding table I know everyone would love that plus you guys kinda need one
That is what I would do... build the jigs needed for framing DIY showing the work and how to build it... I wouldnt just do a DIY framing table... I would have an adjustable setup with the ability to expand your build sizes or make small builds... to be honest I enjoy the DIY aspect of what you do...
Two words...milling machine!
I think diy weld table the an average parson can build in their garage would be cool
I think you should do a little of both but I do like watching the DIY type of builds a lot. I would still watch either way. You two make great vids.
I Think working in a proper shop would be nice as long as the projects don't get boring and mainstream
I completely agree, I enjoy the unprofessional non mainstream way they put together the builds.
@@moto6ixmoto83 exactly, not like all the other channels constantly doing "minibike predator swaps" those make for reeeeeally boring videos
I’d go with the bigger shop, but don’t forget your roots. Feels like y’all have lost some of your mojo lately. Love the content though!
Hell yes...New Shop! It will expand your horizons. It will save your back!!
Keep it DiY with a bigger shop DIY is what makes you guys You keep up the great work 👊💯
Pole barn! Go big or go home. Professional would be great, as long as there is some classic (no parts, no tools, no problem) mixed in.
A bigger shop will definitely benefit you, I can't wait to see your potential!
Man I love this build this is going to be epic when it's done can't wait for the next episode God Bless yall stay safe
When this pandemic is over and you have mini Mayhem this is going to be a beast
not pandemic this is scam-demic
chinese and democrats want to rule everything , at any cost .
Randy Hertzberg you’re not wrong
How come? Whole world decided to scam suddenly? 😂
Idk guys it just seems like y’all aren’t having a lot of fun with this build 🙁
Regarding a bigger shop, there's nothing wrong with scaling up your existing model of creativity, but you don't have to go all fancy-shmancy with your equipment either; simply building a larger space would give y'all room to stretch your proverbial legs and continue to do what you do. Just my two cents. =^)
Jeep it DIY friendly, this is the reason I'm building my Sears into a offroad truck and all my other projects!!!
Think you need to find a hobby that involves friends
How dare you make the dangerous assumption that I have friends
Ebay has Walker evens stock rzr shocks I seen a full set for 500 check them out
Thanks! We'll check em out if these new ones we ordered don't work
I love the "get it done" attitude and resourcefulness of the way you guys have been doing things.
I would build a big “ professional” shop for stuff like this but still have that smaller shop for more diy builds.
DIY RULES. STAY TRUE BRO.
DON’T BECOME A PRO SHOP. THE BEST DESIGNS COME FROM THE GARDEN SHED.
ALL THE BEST FROM THE UK. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
IT'LL COAST YOU MORE MONEY TO FIX THAT ONE OVER THE YEAR THEM JUST BUILDING A NEW ONE DONE RIGHT.... BUILD A 2 STORY BUILDING...
great point, keep this in mind guys
I wouldn’t do a 2 story because of ease of access to everything is crippled such as moving material or carts up and down stairs or even via a block and tackle safety would be dismissed
LIKE A BOSSSS but what about an elevator...
This one.
This.
DIY is nice and all I we all appreciate it but I feel as if it's time for you guys to get real serious and build a big shop that's not falling apart with more professional equipment so that way you can build the things you can't build with a DIY set up
I think some things should be done with “professional” tools, but keep the average persons garage
I think upsizing yet keeping it ‘diy friendly’ is the way to go. It also gives you an opportunity to do more ambitious projects
From a guy who fabricates items to keep commercial HVAC and related equipment and also do some car and motorcycle fabrication in my garage and yard, I would agree that if you expand and have some nice high end equipment, It WILL make your builds easier and will also turn off a lot of viewers, The pure satisfaction and motivation many will get by watching you use wooden blocks to hold something up while mocking a mart in build trust in both you and the viewers abilities to work with what they have, I always love when guys come to me to tear something apart and rebuild with common items they have been looking at for years, They walk away proud of them selves and their accomplishments,
Grab a bigger space or build something nice onto what you have just as you have altered the Karts and bikes into something you like better, Do the same with the shop and keep the followers you have and you will gain more with your humble demeanor, Just my 2c,
I can understand you guys want to grow, but I personally have always loved the "it'll be fine" attitude and it has always been fine, I love the way everything you guys do is so simple, kinda like something most father and sons can achieve in their own garage with minimal tools, that's why I love this channel so much! I mean look at the cross cart 🤷🏼♂️ awesome machine built with minimal tools, a goal I'm sure most people are willing to try because you guys showed that it can be done, either way I'll always watch you guys, love the channel and keep up the great work 💪🏼
Edit: like some of the comments say, maybe you could go semi pro and build everything you need with minimal tools, but I honestly do love the simplicity of your channel
Natural progression. It's not like your older videos are going away. I like the idea of building the stuff you'd use in a bigger shop.
Stay true to your roots guys , that's why we watch you and love what you do, because what you do and how you do it inspires us to do our own stuff.
We could probably continue to work out of the small shop as long as we had storage for everything except for what we're working on in the video
Hell yeah brother build you a big shop and still do the DIY style but whatever you do I'll watch it brother
