WA’S CHANGES TO ABORIGINAL HERITAGE LAW REJECTED AT PILBARA BUSH MEETINGS

  • A large contingent of concerned traditional owners has gathered at the Yule River in WA's Pilbara region to voice concerns over the proposed amendments to the Aboriginal Heritage Act . The major issue for many was the amount of power the new amendments will grant the Department Aboriginal Affairs. Fearing Sacred Sites and Heritage will be lost with the approval of mining leases and development .
