    Thank you for watching!

Hi Lizzy! It's nice to see you again!
I don't think anyone holds it against you for not uploading, your studies are what comes first so I just hope everything's been going good for you
Honestly this whole drama has been pretty annoying in the west too, but at least for all the hate that's been happening there's also a lot of positive support (so as someone who watched and enjoyed the film it makes interacting online less of a headache). From what I've been hearing and what you're confirming is that there is virtually NO positive support in China, which is really unfortunate. I cant imagine how exhausting it must be for those who do like the film and just want a space without all the extreme hate
I totally get your frustration with negativity on social media. I really don't understand this phenomenon of spending time hating something. There are many things I don't care for...why would I waste my time on them instead of consuming things that do make me happy? We're at a point now where we have such a large selection of different type of films, shows, what have you to enjoy...yet there are people who make it their entire identity to hate and be mad at others for liking said thing they hate. It's not enough to just hate in their corner, now they have to spread misery to everyone else too? Why do they need to have their hatred validated by the world so badly?

As an American I'll list some of our complaints we have with The Little Mermaid remake from our perspective here in the U.S.
    1) It's an unnecessary remake of the classic animated film that I and so many others my age grew up with just like we don't really appreciate the other live-action remakes because it taints and tarnishes the legacy of the original animated movies
    2) It shows how creatively lazy Disney is when there are literally hundreds of other fairy tales and legends from around the world that they can use to make an interesting Disney animated film but they choose not to which is an insult to the vision and legacy of this company
    3) No one has an issue with the main actress herself, we don't dislike her because she's black but unfortunately the American/Western media have used her skin color as a marketing tool and they will dishonestly use that against people here in the USA who try to give constructive reasons but the media will say that we don't accept it because we're haters of people of color no matter how many times we explain they will lie about the people who disagree with the changes and make it a race issue by their standards
and I'm not gonna get into all the details because frankly American social politics is HORRIFYING
(for the record a lot of people like the Cinderella TV movie from 1997 with Brandy a famous Black singer popular in the 1990s)
So, hopefully this gives you an idea how what we think and how we feel about The Little Mermaid remake

    White supremacy in China?
I wonder if there are any Chinese animated movies, with Chinese characters, that if they were made into live-action and the race of the characters were changed, how would Chinese people react?
Personally I have no worries with them changing Ariel. But the people complaining about people complaining about Ariel being changed from white to black, are the same people who would complain if the race of their characters they grew up with were changed too (let's say Chinese changed to white or black).
China can do what they want... Disney obviously makes changes to cater to Chinese audiences. So why not complain about Disney?
