I like this format. Would be neat for y’all to make cocktails and the other to try to guess the ingredients.

Those luxardos are great but my god they are expensive. Its like 25$ for one jar. I will stick to maraschinos from kroger.

I'm glad we are all learning how good Ben Holladay is all at once. I'm in Mo we basically have 1 sole distributor that supplies 3/4 of the state. Holliday only showed up here like November (its produced just north of KC)
For context Bardstown and Penelope was like march

My family recipe for old fashions uses candied oranges for both the sweetener and the garnish. Make your basic 1:1 simple syrup with your sugar of choice, I like turbinado. Add slices of navel oranges (about 3/16" thick and halved) and simmer them for 45 minutes or more. The slices should be submerged, I put the ends of the oranges on top of the slices to hold them down. Feel free to use some honey or maple syrup if you like. Let the slices cool off and bottle in a wide mouth jar with the syrup. Then use one teaspoon syrup to make your old fashion and garnish with a slice. You can eat the slice peel and all. Recipe dates from about 1900 from my San Francisco relatives.

You all should do an update to your bar cart video. That was the first video that really led me to your channel and I think it would be interesting to see how things have changed since then

Since y’all are in the Lexington area, you gotta pick up some apple syrup from Eckert’s Orchard in Versailles. It makes an absolutely killer old fashioned.
