Don't fix what wasn't Broken. No one on God's green earth wanted Splash Mountain to go and replace it with Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Splash Mountain was great and I feel like the new ride is a HUGE Downgrade in my opinion.
It was literally just a small fringe of lunatics on Twitter using the knee to the neck to literally extort Disney to change it to this IP or else. Disney caved in immediately.

This ride looks even worse than I imagined. The Louis animatronic is genuinely impressive, but everything else lacks any soul or Disney magic. All of the dramatic tension and buildup before the main drop is gone and the finale song can't even dream of living up to Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.
Overall, terrible replacement. Tokyo Disneyland looks more and more appealing by the day.

I saw the ride. It’s dog sh!t. The animatronics they made are top notch, but the charm and immersion sucks when compared to Splash

I’ve noticed that if I made criticism about this ride on Disney’s post before ride footage was released, I would get
absolutely torn to shreds.
But now that the footage has been released, my comments are getting a lot more likes and approval from others. I think it’s only a matter of time after the ride is released for the public sentiment to finally come out about how how bad this unnecessary “makeover” was.

My God this ride is terrible all way. It's sooo dark. In alot of areas. It's sooo long dead. Alot of the animals are long gone .it's so lifeless , alot don't makes sense. And playing down in New Orleans in the beginning don't make sense.it don't feel like New Orleans at all. The bayou scene is decent nice but so many dark dead spots of darkness .. this ride should of been in Tiana's own new land of her own. This ride should have just been an adaptation of the film. Replace laughing place song with rolling down the bayou. As you go up the hill you have a reprise of friends on the other side. At the End finish with Dig a little/Dreams do come True in New Orleans.
Absolutely. Tiana should've gotten her own ride, but if they were going to re-theme splash mountain to princess and the frog they should've just used the music from the original soundtrack from the movie.

I just saw the full ride. Not kidding, this was one of the worst boring downgrades in re-theme history. It’s one of the worst I have ever seen. Ever. It makes Stich Great Escape look like a masterpiece. Bring back Splash Mountain.

Splash mountain may have had broken animatronics half the time but at least for the WDW version, it was specifically built to have animatronics in every corner since their ride is slower than they Disneyland ride which is in much need of this retheme, but still it was a real hit in the stomach to see they poor way they used the space in WDWs splash for this boring retheme that was only necessary for Disneyland

Without the original Splash Mountain at Disneyland that was created by Tony Baxter, then the Magic Kingdom Splash Mountain wouldn't exist due to the success of the first one! Tony wasn't involved with WDW Splash but he was a consultant for it. The original DL Splash Mountain had a total of 103 Audio-Animatronics while former MK Splash Mountain had a total of 68 Audio-Animatronics. DL Splash had a grander finale with the largest moving Zip-A-Dee-Lady showboat with more than 22 characters in the scene! So, I love and prefer Disneyland's Splash Mountain more than Magic Kingdom Splash Mountain!

Zippity has the kind of art that goes unappreciated, unless you try to duplicate it.
The hook is great. The syncopation is clever but not hard to learn. And it is an earworm that is not irritating. The pace of the song cheers people up.
It was also a song that made animation possible, by having a few strong images.
The same strong images are great mental images for singers striving to put the song across, in the Lotte Lenya/lieder method.
Basically a nursery rhyme created in modern times, while also a valid musical song/standard.

I’m in New Orleans right now. Had brunch at Commander’s Palace and spent yesterday evening on Frenchman Street. Heading to Carrollton in about an hour to eat lunch at a local restaurant. Nothing about this ride looks like New Orleans. EDIT: nothing like Avery Island/Tabasco either

A lot of scenes are just vacant, and even then you’ll see like one Tiana animatronic in the distance while moving slow, there isn’t a lot that is happening and helping riders understand what is happening, this really only forks for Disneylands ride because theirs goes a lot faster than the WDW version so theirs might just be slightly better, but nonetheless the WDW splash mountain didn’t need to go and now they will have to destroy half of the river for a new Frontierland expansion while the other half will become a New Orleans square because of this unnecessary and boring ride

Why didn’t try just use “Down in New Orleans?” Like they could have extended it if needed to give the reprise used at the ending more of a loop but that’s how the movie ends.

Just watched POV ride through. I thought Tiniqua, er, Tiana was a Disney "princess". She is only in Safari outfit everywhere she appears. The lack of animatronics compared to Splash Mountain is very noticeable if you've been on it. No critters by my count until about 3 minutes into the "ride". Very few critters throughout, some digital screens used, mostly plants (still not sure how there is a bayou inside a mountain?) & the "finale?" is very lackluster. On a scale of 1 - 10 I give it a minus 5. Shame on Disney for treating the 1st black man to ever win an Academy Award this way. I thought Disney was all about DEI.

My family and I live in Maine and have visited Orlando many times over the years, and are planning to go to Orlando again in October 2025. We loved going to the Disney Parks and Universal for Halloween. This time it will only be Universal and it's because of Epic Universe. For me, especially, I'm most excited about Dark Universe, but also Isle of Berk looks to be amazing. Universal sees that DEI is destroying WDW and will not make the same mistakes.

The ride video has been released and it's even worse than we thought. It's mostly empty space and darkness with a couple animatronics scattered around. Watch people line up for 120 minutes in Florida summer heat for this thing though and have Disney call it a success.

I wonder if apolitical or certainly ideologically left-leaning people tend to realize how their type of biases (throughout the cultural, political, economic system) are making society anything but nicer, kinder, more ethical, more compassionate, more enjoyable? Gina Carano symbolizes the way that ideology is, first & foremost (if not solely), the only thing that matters to fans of DEI/ESG.
I think about this in some form everyday, and, honestly, my conclusion always boils down to Marxism. Essentially, there always has to be an oppressor and the oppressed, and without constantly finding both in everyday life, Marxism ceases to exist. Additionally, it is taught that everything is tainted because the oppressor created it. That is why these people are never happy despite changing or erasing everyone of their demands.

But telling a child that s/he is already special, magical, and perfect leaves no room for growth and improvement. It also divorces a child's opinion of themselves from their actual abilities and achievements. It's the difference between cultivating self-respect or self-esteem. This is hardly ridiculous, and it does affect how children develop.

This ride looks even worse than I imagined. The Louis animatronic is genuinely impressive, but everything else lacks any soul or Disney magic. All of the dramatic tension and buildup before the main drop is gone and the finale song can't even dream of living up to Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah. Overall, terrible replacement. Tokyo Disneyland looks more and more appealing by the day. They should have used "Almost There" with altered lyrics for the new message. The recording of the new song is way too cluttered with musical "junk". "Zippity-Do-Dah" is a clean, catchy, singable song that quickly gets stuck in your head. "Almost There" has the same effect: great hook music. And LaRena is right. the new song's musak. And if I had to listen to this in an elevator in a store. I might decide never to shop there again.

Just saw a vid on YT of the complete ride-through of this attraction. Sheesh. Tiana's is to "Disney" what a news story yesterday was to law & justice. A joyless, clumsy, political, mean-spirited mindset hovers over today's America. However, when today's Disney Co was less dogmatic in 2001, it admittedly did allow a really, really bad attraction called Superstar Limo to open at its new park in Anaheim. Meanwhile, the sleek DisneySea in Tokyo has a new ride-through that's nothing but projected images on widescreens.

Why not make a slight change to “Almost There” so that now it’s “Finally Here.” It would tie in the movie’s story and Tiana’s emphasis on hard work to achieve your dream. “You’ve all come here from everywhere ‘cause my dream’s made clear. It’s fi-i-n’ ly-y he-e-e-re!” It would even make the audience feel like the we’re helping Tiana’s dream come true and stay alive. Just a thought
Special Spice is just horrible for that ending scene. Such a fall asleep song. Down in New Orleans would have been perfect for that ending. It's a great song, upbeat and classic. And they decide to put that in the beginning when the ride is calm?!! Whoever decided this should be fired.

Did you know that Richard M. Sherman just died, who wrote so many of the Disney songs we love with his brother, Robert Sherman. The list is extensive, the people who rerecorded the songs surprisingly high, and it includes a few you wouldn't expect, like "You're Sixteen". All of Mary Poppins' songs are there, and It's a Small World. I rode that ride and heard that song for the first time at the New York World's Fair when I was 6. Time to tip our hats to two men who filled our childhoods with song.
Yes heart breaking, but what a legacy their left. I was at the burbank studio in 2012 and they had a wreath in the court yard for Robert Sherman. What's sad is Richard once said if I'm correct was that when new people started coming into the studio that him and his brother were kind of looked at like old news, which is sad.
