Glad you liked my suggestion. Saltatio Mortis (Latin for Dance of the Dead) are a German folk metal band (yes, that's a genre). They mostly sing in German but they do have a few songs in English as well, such as Pray to the Hunter, My Mother Told me or Fire and Ore (feat. Brothers of Metal). Imo the rather unusual instruments like hurdy-gurdy and bagpipes go really well together with metal.
This was fantastic, thanks so much for the suggestion! German folk metal sounds badass… I first heard bagpipes used by Korn, and I friggin loved it, this checked all of my boxes.
@@DavidBraileyLive If you liked Saltatio Mortis, you should also give Feuerschwanz (That's the name of the band) a try. They usually sing in German, but they also have many English songs, too. Ah... and Saltatio Mortis recently also did a collab with Blind Guardian - "Finsterwacht" (in German) or "Darkenguard" (same Musicians, same video, English lyrics) -they video is awesome, but the Music is definitely, too! Lara Loft is German, just like SaMo are. :) The Stones are part of Skyrim - but since only my husband has played that, I cannot really tell you what they are good for. I think in the game, the player can activate certain skillsets (?) by touching them. Hence the glow in the characters' eyes.
Saltatio Mortis also made the first (of seven) official alternative versions of Electric Callboy's "Hypa Hypa" (one should watch the music video of the original prior to it, as there are some referrences, especially as Kevin & Nico, EC's vocalists appear in the video): Someone already mentioned Feuerschwanz (foy-air-shvantz, translates to Fire Tail, with the 100% intentional double meaning/ slang translation Fire Dick). THeir original material is usually in German but they have some covers and a few originals in Enflish too. I See Fire (Ed Sheeran/ The Hobbit cover) Blinding Lights (The Weeknd cover) Gimme Gimme Gimme (Abba cover) Warriors of the World United feat. Thomas Winkler (ex-Gloryhammer, Angus McSix, he was the guest singer on Valhalleluja by Nanowar of Steel), Saltatio Mortis (represented by vocalist Alea) & Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum, The Dark Side of the Moon) (Manowar cover) Highlander (English version of their own song, inspired by the 1986 fantasy-action film of the same title) Wardwarf feat. Francesco Cavalieri (vocalist of the Italian dwarf themed power metal/ folk metal band Wind Rose) English version of their own song "Kampfzwerg" (literally Battle Dwarf/ Fight Dwarf).
"Long haired John Cleese" doesn't play a sithar, but a hurdy gurdy. A medieval stringed instrument. Instead of a bow, it is played by turning a wheel. It has melody strings (which you manipulate with a keyboard), and drone strings, that play a set note. Saltatio Mortis are pretty well known for shooting very elaborate music videos on site, often in insanely well done costumes. Check out God of War (featuring Peyton Parrish), or their magnum opus Finsterwacht/Darkenguard (featuring Blind Guardian). Or one of my personal favourites, Schwarzer Strand (featuring Faun), for a softer/calmer sound. Or their version of Electric Callboy's Hypa Hypa, for the sheer insanity of it. Or if you want
Well, they're German. And not a trace of an accent. Most of the backgrounds look like scenes from the game, including those special rocks, which are a feature.

You pronounced “Saltatio Mortis” very well the first time!
If you like that kind of thing, try a few songs from “FAUN”! Like "Gwydion" or "Galdra"
Gwydion is a must
