I recently had the opportunity to play this great game High Frontier, so I'm looking for tutorials and video guides on the Internet. I was very interested in your easy and simple way to get three glory chits in one mission, but then I read the G5 rule and found out that it's not that easy to do. But even so, your choice of destinations is very inspiring, thank you for your video :)
Excellent tutorial, facts without the fluff. Particularly like the clear example turns at the end showing the auctions and space travel, I could have watched more.
Thank you so much for this video. I read the rulebook and tutorial a couple months ago and got a brilliant refresher thorugh your video. Thank you for going the extra mile by adding an errata as well.
12:38 - Your crew card can't just be voluntarily decommissioned: "Crew or Colonists can only be voluntarily decommissioned in the following instances: a. Founding Settlement. To build a Colony (G3) or (2A4b, 2A7b). b. Crew Only. If you have the Felonious faction privilege allowing Murder/Suicide. c. Colonist Only. See homesteading (2A4). and unanchoring (2B6)" Great video, it's really going to be a big help when I try to get people playing when HF4All arrives!!!! :)
6:18 You do not need two radiators. One is enough. If You want to activate thruster (move) - You need one cooling, then You need also one cooling, but for Operation - Prospect. At one time You do not need them both :)
11:40 when you add a fueltank and increase dry mass counter, you have to adjust wet mass marker with the same value. You only add payload, your fuel is still the same count of steps between dry&wet as before loading
11:05 you can't pay aqua (from LEO) to perform a delivery. Instead you have to spend FTs located at the site doing the delivery. That usually means you first need to do site refuel there.
When you auction a card, only the card auctioned is moved from the deck to reveal the card below. Any additional support cards included remain on their decks until the auction is completed (I2g 3rd bullet). This reduces the info on future available cards to only the stack of the card targeted for auction.
That very last turn (Turn 5) for the Glory-Chit crew... can a ship take off from a site if its net thrust is equal to the size of the planet? (Size 1 versus Thrust of 1)?
This video has shown me that the game isn't actually a 4.83 as shown on BGG... just the rulebook is because it's teaching the player rocket science instead of how to play the game.
Of course... it’s so obvious and self explanatory that there almost does not need to be an instruction manual. LOL. Geez... this is definitely a step up from Uno... which is hard enough LOL j/k.
The most similar one I can think of in terms of gameplay, which is currently about two thirds the price, is Leaving Earth: boardgameprices.co.uk/item/show/18316/leaving-earth?sid=2354224
@@danpalmer7676 LOL The rule books are designed to make the game impossible to learn. I learned more from watching this vid again, than from three hours trying to figure out how to set the damn thing up! Still don't know how to play :D
To this day I don’t know what came over me when I decided to purchase all 3 expansions. My brain will melt way before I’m halfway through their rules.
Excellent video! Amazing how you were able to condense the whole thing into 16min!

The message at 4min convinced me to like the video, comment and subscribe.
The proper way to show the flow of the game to a complete beginner.
Thank the lord for this. I was dead when I opened the box
Yeah. FIVE rule books? Holy crow.
Brilliant. Some turn examples of turns in rule book would have been priceless. Thanks again
Pls make a video for Module 1&2 as well. This is so far the best explanation video to HF4All.
Thanks! I've never played the other modules, but maybe I can do another video for them when I have.
@@fishcharlie Suggest to do one for one, then another for the second module.
@@fishcharlie I’d love a video on the expansions as well.
Thank you so much for this video. I read the rulebook and tutorial a couple months ago and got a brilliant refresher thorugh your video. Thank you for going the extra mile by adding an errata as well.
Absolutely great tutorial. It doesn't seem that hard after watching it. Also much more fun than expected! Thanks!

Yep, caught that in the errata already, thanks!

Excellent tutorial. You have a gift for teaching and presenting
Dang.. it is the best explanation of this game. So helpful. Thx a lot
Amazing job explaining this game and demonstrating it clearly and in so little time!
11:05 you can't pay aqua (from LEO) to perform a delivery. Instead you have to spend FTs located at the site doing the delivery. That usually means you first need to do site refuel there.
I'll add that to the errata, thanks.
What a fun game; thanks for the video!
You’re a wizard, ‘arry!
Awesome video! Helped me a lot clearing out some questionmarks. Thanks!
Thank you for the video. I decided to buy this game, thanks :-)
Impressive! Many thanks.
Nice! I would love to see you play out the full game. From start to goal. Plus if you add expansions.
You did an excellent job! Thank you!
Pretty good explanation. Thank you.
Thanks for video. very good tutorial.
Good work!
Great game. Module 4 Exodus coming out in 2022

Hi Gary, yep, that’s already mentioned in the video’s errata - expand the video description to see some other corrections.
Impressive ! 👍🚀
that was amazing.

You're absolutely right, added to the errata. Thanks.
I just bought this game, this video is the closest I can get to understand it lol. Thank you so much.
Another error: The crew can only carry one glory chit at a time.
Thanks, I'd missed that. Will add it to the errata.
thanks the staking seemed OP
Nice video
thanks

21:15, 22:10 Max one glory chit on a crew card at any time...
Yep, see the errata in the description.
9:43 hydration minus isru +1 ??
At 16 mins you say that a lander burn means 1 step of fuel to do a powered landing. I think you meant 1 burn but it can mislead some people.
Thanks, I'll make a note of that in the description.
Of course... it’s so obvious and self explanatory that there almost does not need to be an instruction manual. LOL. Geez... this is definitely a step up from Uno... which is hard enough LOL j/k.
Only 43 pages of rules 😜
Do you ever blink?
now that this game is to expensive. what other games are like it?

This isn't a game, it's a maths exercise. Like Stellaris, I wanted to like this, but it's just way too complicated for the fun you get. Real shame.
I agree buddy, the boards and cards look cool but my brain is having to work overtime.Maybe a clearer rule-book needed or a bigger brain for me.
@@danpalmer7676 LOL The rule books are designed to make the game impossible to learn. I learned more from watching this vid again, than from three hours trying to figure out how to set the damn thing up! Still don't know how to play :D
If it takes more than a minute to explain a game it isn't worth playing.
That’s like saying anything that takes more than a minute to cook isn’t worth eating.
you probably took more than a minute thinking of and typing this comment is it even worth reading?
