I ordered it, but I also have both of the previous ones. It is kind of pricey, but I think you get a lot with it. I think the 45 adapter, while unnecessary, is better than the scarf, IMO. I enjoy the compilation LP/CDs that have been in the sets. It gives me the opportunity to hear some of the recent acts that I might not catch otherwise. I'm glad they send the CD so I can rip it to Plex. I think initially they were pitching this as a subscription, right? I seem to remember something about guaranteeing that previous purchasers would be given the option to order the next ones first. But, considering how long Vol 2 hung around, I guess that isn't necessary.

I purchased the Spirit & Time Box set about a month ago and I have to say I really, really like the two record compilation and CD which is a "tribute" to Tony Williams. (I'm a drummer.) It's got some really solid tunes performed by fantastic contemporary musicians. I've listened to it multiple times on record and cd. The prints of Art Blakey and Elvin Jones are cool too. I've gotten them framed for my office. They fit in cheap Hobby Lobby frames that look pretty good. I was worried about shelling out $200 for that set, but after receiving it and listening to it I am quite satisfied with the purchase.

I am for the moment a TonePoet completist and definitely want a copy of Sonic Boom. You nailed that one perfectly in describing me. That said, with the cost of record buying becoming more expensive, I have to reassess my stance and maybe become more selective.

As a starter I have been able to order Bobby Hutcherson's Montara as a pre-order (December 2024) for £29.99 in the UK so we know at least one of the next set of BN Classic Series. As usual however Amazon UK may have messed up! They have just added an image of the cover to the "Bobby Hutcherson's Montara" and it's for Visions by Grant Green. Amazon UK really does amateur hour well, will cancel my pre-order when they provide some clarity

I already have a clean LT series copy (bought sealed as dead stock), but having a remaster with that gorgeous new cover would be nice. Let's see if they put it out in the Classic Series eventually, that ambiguous wording on the website gives me hope.
Bought the lighthouse sessions on release, which was outstanding. Would love Sonic Boom, the live 10inch might be nice. But the rest I just feel is fluff. Would have been great if Lee’s last album was included. I also think Charisma LP will be released as a TP.
I don’t like the idea of paying that much for the inclusion of a tribute album. They could have added some more Lee Morgan content for that kinda dough!😮

As good as it is, this not Lee Morgan. An alternate version of “Morgan the Pirate”. Why not but only few completelist fans will be interested in this take. A 10” vinyl release of a never-before-issued jam session ? why not but it's only a short one. Probably less than 15min. $225 for a nice packaging, 2 lovely lithos, one single, one 10inch, 3LPs and a CD...Come on ! Blue Note like other labels try to sell records already available on different formats, reissued many times. Sonic Boom was issued in 1979 when Blue Note was in deep sh..... Jazz lovers all know these "blue note classic" collection with horrible covers, issued in the late 70s. Not the best material actually. Anyway, people are free to buy this kind of deluxe box or NOT.

They should have replaced the “tribute “ 2xLP, with Lee’s last studio 2xLP album. That would make it a much more appealing boxset for the price.
