As an ancient gacha life fan (think 2017-2021 ancient), I am recently revisiting my roots. Along with discovering that Darkside - Sped Up Remix - Nightcore was my top played song in 2020, I’m shocked that people are still making glmms! Here’s my observations on how things have changed from the olden days so far: -ok good we got an channel intro slay -oh my gOD it’s so zoomed in? that’s so different it used to be so much farther out? -WHAT? the character’s thoughts are at the BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN instead of in a THOUGHT BUBBLE? is this the norm now? -oof we got the possible love interest third wheeling love that, so glad that hasn’t changed - thank you for the convenient lore drop and blue and Green hair love y’all -glad the character designs are still as creative as ever -“it’s a human” wow ok -WOAH PROFANITY WHAT NO FAIR WE DIDNT GET PROFANITY? THE CLOSEST THING WAS A BILLE EILISH SONG THAT WAS CLEAN BUT I WENT TO LISTEN TO IT ON SPOTIFY AND IN THE GENIUS STORIES ABT THE SONG THERE WAS THE F WORD AND I GOT SO SCARED I CLOSED THE TAB AND RAN AWAY -just realised there’s different non copyright music now. my generation was raised on Kevin macleod an his catchy elevator tunes. -oh thank god there are thought bubbles. all is right with the world. -ok main character ate Sydney uppp -yes transitions -love how the scar switches sides. The imperfect object permanence is strangely reminiscent of old times -yess the school nurse character. gacha life school nurses were always infinitely more helpful that the real life ones. -ahh, her name is tiffany -I’d complain about the unrealistic use of “sis”, but alas, I have called my sister sis before -“I’ve never seen him smile to a girl before, I guess he likes her?” Sydney’s salmon haired friend def thought aiden was gay -we got the same hair colour twins, let’s gooo -wait why does he hate her? God after years of not watching glmms I’ve lost all my media literacy skills -we have the T-Tiffany stutter yall all is well -and happily ever after once again! That was everything I hoped it would be. Glad the gacha is still thriving!
