Josh, you just described my marriage of 52 years come this June, of not quitting not throwing in the towel,against All odds, of staying and keeping my marriage covenant to God ,my vows, and so did my husband, our marriage started out against the odds , But God, we are so Blessed today 4 kids 14 grandkids 4 great grand kids and great joy, of God's grace mercy, forgiveness ,strength to persevere even when it looked entirely impossible ,the enemy throwing everything at us as well as personal choices, but Choosing to fight and not quit. God showing me as well what your teaching ,when we went to Him first ,His word ,over the flesh, the world, the devil ,Amen ,you present and are bringing the heart of God's love and His Gospel message through. The mystery of the marriage covenant and Christ covenant to us ,beautifully. Thankyou ,so much, brother in Christ ,pastor Josh.
44:10 - Why? My husband and I met at an overseas location while Active Duty Military (USMC; USAF). We met at church, were engaged within 2 months of meeting, legally married within 4, and ceremonially married around month 7 where we consummated it. I think God put us together because: 1. Bring glory to God through our marriage and love and serve Him in Ministry. 2. Prevent us from continuing down a rabbit hole of sinful actions (Me out of asking IF God really condemns sex and trying to explore what it is without crossing the line. Him out of porn and a strip club before he was convinced to cross the line by someone else.) 3. To represent Jesus to eachother and have a tangible person we can go to to experience Love and Grace in our faults and poor actions. To pray and care for each other. To build each other up. 4. To love and train our 4 girls (0 boys) to Love, Honor, and Serve God. 5. To set an example for others to follow and show it is possible to be married as virgins (physically), sacrifice for each other, forgive eachother, and follow Jesus. That it's a whole lot better than the alternative "romantic" relationships, especially on mental health when done right.
