Since you asked, my favorite shows are Rob Berger, "Breaking Bad," and "The Rifleman."

Rob, what’s your thoughts on selling investments in my Vanguard IRA for living expenses? Some index stock and funds are above my purchase price and some below, bond funds are definitely below. My stocks/bonds ratio is 70/30. Thanks…

@R J you should sell your RSUs as soon as they vest, there is no additional tax if you sell at vest price (and only a very very minor tax amount, if the stock goes up a bit on vest day). Don’t ever hold them. As for the shares that you haven’t done that with-for those, which have long term cap gains, follow Rob’s advice.

Rob, not sure where to communicate with you but I have big concerns over security at Vanguard. Calls now are answered in Far East call centers. This makes me nervous. Are you hearing things?

Your opinion on also using international small cap value vs small cap blend. What percentage of international stocks. Thanks.

Always good content thanks Robert. I agree with your cd approach . I’m looking at a 4 year or 3 year to get higher rates and for a longer period of time . I think your right the rates have peaked . The fed may do one more
Raise or freeze it for another couple of months .

@45:35 hope you at least get free shirts or discounts for informal endorsement. 😉 They are nice. Will pass on name. Thx.

I took a position in TLT (20 year treasuries). In the event of the debt ceiling not getting raised/default, is this bad for long term treasuries? or no effect . Thank you

Rob have you done a show on the buffered products coming out. Equitable will buffer or protect on down turns up to 20% and cap on the upside at 10% on the S&P. If you are more concerned w capital preservation is this a decent product?

Why not establish your retirement income based with your social security and annuity and invest the rest of your savings ( if you have ) in the matjet

Keep up the Dave Ramsay digs, 😂. And since I see you have a Buckeye football in your office throw in some Michigan digs too while you’re at it.

Rob- I find interest in many of your topics and discussion content but respectfully, I just can’t commit the time anymore given the length of your videos. Have you ever considered breaking these long sessions down into 15-20 minute separate sessions?

why not save the video and then watch it in 15-20 minute sessions and have 5 videos to enjoy ...or watch it at 2x speed like i do and cut the time in half

It's a live stream. Hour and a half is very reasonable. Especially given the amount of questions he gets. He also does short videos.

By law, the US has to pay on debt and Social Security. They furlough non-essentials. We also continually bring in tax revenue so they aren’t broke.

The debt ceiling would prevent the government from paying expenses already incurred. They furlough workers when the government hasn’t allotted money to pay for workers. In this case, the money was allotted to pay for them but the government would be voluntarily refusing to pay them. The debt ceiling is probably unconstitutional but it’s never been tested. It would not prevent the debt from being incurred, it would only prevent it from being paid.

Be patient. He prob gets thousands of emails and has commitments (and a life) outside of his YT videos. He did say in one video he can’t answer all emails he gets. As much as he prob wants to it would take many hrs a day - if not entire days.

How safe is my money in Vanguards Federal Money Market VMFXX if the government would hit the debt ceiling and go in default.
