Great idea to promote Medellin as the South American Silicon Valley. Lots of opportunity, but lots of work yet to do. Cheers for another informative video guys!
I got an email last night from the US Embassy in Bogota that there is a lift in Covid tests for people entering Colombia. So you no longer have to complete a PCR test (or any test) though you do have to fill out that immigration form before you go to the airport.
So that's awesome. Bogota lifted the restaurant and grocery stuff already. Our Airbnb is on a busy street so we know the bars are hopping, lol ;)
Awesome that there is no pcr tests are you crazy , I doubt the bars will be hopping for long , bet all lockdown again by xmas
@@woodyhayes7402 xmas is ?? - the time when Colombian will be back on lockdown ……
@@woodyhayes7402 christmas
The Transmilenio is barely functional. Will take a year to rebuild the system. The strikes wont end anytime soon. Sugar and meat is becoming scarce in Bogotá. Most roads outside of the big cities are blocked. Port workers in Buenaventura have walked off for weeks now.. It's no where near normal in Colombia at the moment...
Can you give me some specifics my Friend? I have a friend that wants to drive all across Colombia by car. Is that even possible? I'm in Europe and can't find good information about the real situation on the ground. Gracias Amigo! Mucha Suerte a todos ustedes
@@pedroantoniodacruzferreira1487 I would strongly advise against it. Only drive with a trusted local with you at all times and only during the day time. Currently the US embassy has forbidden all staff from travelling outside a small distance from the embassy in Bogotá.
@@danielyruby8696 Thank you for your quick reply Daniel. This is good advice!
*Fantastic news, As the U.S. has dropped mandatory wearing of a mask if you were vaccinated, Sam, Tasha, can you guys investigate if Colombia planning to do the same...*
*Thanks* 🌴😷👍
Omg this is the best news Ive heard in a while. Gonna look into flight tickets to Medellin 😁
Covid rates new cases per day …mas alta en historia!
In Santa Fe, there were no restrictions. None.
I am currently visiting Palmira, just went to Cartagena
Is Medellin safe right now with the protests ? How are the areas of laureles and poblado with protests recently ?
not in cartegena
Great new. Thanks for the Medellin updates
Yesssssss, great news. Booking tickets right now
You two are helpful!
thanks for the update guys. Very useful information as always
I'd love to get to see you guys since I'm heading to colombia this month
Is this a nationwide reactivation of the economy or does it just apply to certain local areas such as Medellin? I ask because over 500 people are dying every day in Colombia at the moment, so this easing of lockdown seems ... ambitious.
Colombia is trying to reactivate the economy by doing away with the lockdowns. Masks must still be used. However, the vaccination program in Colombia is about zero... The national government is so weak it is unable to manage any effective campaign for vaccinating the majority of Colombians within a year. Any Colombian with a tourist visa is taking the next flight to Miami, Atlanta or New York to get vaccinated.
@@danielyruby8696 Thanks Daniel. I can see this makes sense with an advanced vaccination programme, as there's always a balance to be struck between lockdowns and opening the economy again, but it's clearly a huge risk. I hope they can somehow keep the lid on the death rate.
Crazy! The Covid positivity rates are at the highest there and they are relaxing all the restrictions.
@@jocjrnyc The poverty rates are at the highest due to the Covid overreaction, so yes, they are relaxing all the restrictions. colombiaeconomica.net/2021/04/29/. Poverty rate is 42.6% in Colombia.
@@jocjrnyc dont worry. 99.8% of healthy people survive. This ain't covid day one. People gonna die from poverty than the virus if things stay locked down forever.
Thanks for your update. Returning to Cali this month
Stay safe!
Of course I leave the day after. My luck! I have a visa so coming back should be a breeze after I receive my vaccine in the usa. The only issue I am having is the negative covid test the usa requires for all incoming travelers.
That is great news! Thank you!
Great news, thanks!
Thanks for sharing
Is the CoronApp still a thing ? I'm moving to Medellin from Canada in late July / early August ... I will be fully vaccinated before going.... thanks as always for the updates
As far as we know you still have to fill it out.
All the best with your move!
@@HowToExpat Thank you , big life change for sure !
hopefully Cartagena follows this same move
I don't believe the news but is anyone have family colombia/bogota? Know if they're having political unrest/riots are that bad? Or are they all lies?
Thanks
Hi
What are requirements to merry Colombia women I am a us citizen and need to get some information
Thanks for the info. Flying in and retiring in Duitama. Any word on lifting some of the requirements to enter the country? Right now it (covid) vaccine/PCR test and a pretravel form filled out 24 hours prior to flight.
I live here in Colombia - please don't come now. This wonderful couple is painting a rosy picture of Colombia. I had to pay my dairy farmer/owner of my apartment 2 months in advance to help him out because he was broke due to the milk trucks being blocked. There are so many issues from gasoline, propane, food and increased prices in restaurants, stores, etc. This couple is self-serving their own interests to mislead you into thinking everything is peachy keen in Colombia.
@Yeah Right I am in Putumayo
Exactly. And BTW, that's not a girl with him but a secret transgenderd. They are tools for the illuminati who are in their final stages of their one world totalitarian socialist government.
@@Mickeycuatropatas how is security for a foreigner in campo of mocoa/villagarzon? I want to relocate for a homestead.
@@Mickeycuatropatas general security, not covid related
@@helllooopeepsk3024 Mocoa is safer than Villagarzon (there is a Canadian oil company there, but they live in a guarded gated community). There was a young protester killed there 2 weeks ago.
What is the vaccination rate in Colombia?
Thanks for the update. Now I must say, I will be traveling to Medellin (or anywhere by plane) once ALL restrictions are removed; that includes those dreaded masks. I'm looking forward to things getting back to "normal". Sure, there will be a "new normal". However, MY normal will be minus wearing the mask. Until then, it's not normal.
Omg. Get to the point already!
Colombia needs to get on with the vaccine roll out. Colombia is one of the slowest at giving out c19 vaccine in south America at only 6.7%. If Chile can do a good vaccine roll out. so far 43%. Colombia can do the same.
But there is 25.000 + new conterminated so thats Weird??????.
Hows vaccine rollout going there?
Not too good to be honest. They are not nearly as fast as other countries.
This is a really bad idea without vaccines.
Soccer. It’s called soccer
Football.
The glorious re-opening (oh..uh…covid new cases daily highest in history, up 1,400% in last 2 mo.s)!
