I agree Kandi I'm a grown ass man and that dinner scene with her mom made me really emotional too. For various reasons. For 1, it's cause Tamika comes off as such a freaking sweetheart & it seems like she honestly doesn't have a bad bone in her body, so seeing her cower like that with her head down kind of like a kid in trouble stressed me out lol because I 100% know that feeling! I'm proud of the restraint she showed, that tells us she's used to her mom hitting the roof like that. In your head You be torn between "ok that's my mama let me just shut up & be respectful & let her have her lil moment & let her think she running sumn" & on the other hand you be trying with all your might not to just cuss the bitch out & throw her out ya house!!😂 My mom is super strong & passionate just like hers too so all I can keep saying it I understand her 100%. Kandi and Tiny alone has stayed relevant enough today that the reach across all age brackets. They are the Headliners
That is not true! And I love me some kandi. Being on housewives does not relate to the success of Xscape they’re not even the same audience. The only reason why they had a sold out tour their first year is because they hadn’t toured since the 90s. That’s the part that she’s not telling you. And since that show it has not been any other sold out tickets they sold well but it hasn’t sold out. SWV has been back together since 2013 so they had their Run of sold out Tours when they came back together. Plus Xscape is getting the hype now because they have four members back but as of right now they are not selling out tours. And the headliner is not automatic for any group it depends on who the artist that is touring. Xscape has only toured with people who are under their bracket professionally and that’s why they get the headliner for their tours. SWV tour with people like Toni Braxton they are on a different level and caliber of touring and they even tour international. So that’s the difference and she has not shared that. So two different calibers SWV sold 40 million records as of today and escape only so 9 million. And they are very relevant because they had their own TV show a few years ago and they didn’t need any connects to get it. Statistics don’t lie nor do their Grammy nominations. Xscape has never gotten the nomination from the Grammys association. The matter is they are the bigger group just like TLC is the bigger group.

As I was watching this video, I kept thinking "The people that don't understand business will be pissed." Kandi has proven that she has a mind for business and can take emotions and feelings off the table. It's how Kandi breaks things down for clarity that makes me a fan. As for the LaTocha situation, as someone who saw all of this unfold back in the day, I just see it as history repeating itself. Nothing but love for both groups.
Tiny gave a snippet as well. I'm sure this was something she and Tiny both spoke about, thoroughly, before presenting it to the other two.
Imagine where they would be as a group without Kandi. When Kandi was not apart of the group the other members where performing at backyard bbqs and convention centers. Like literally, Im not even tryin to be mean but they did not know how to elevate their brand.

Once you start messing with your money and the word gets out that you were willing to low ball your pay, you’ll never be able to convince the promoters to pay you at the higher rate again. SWV wouldn’t agree to a lower pay if they were the top bill act. So, they can’t in good conscience expect Xscape to do it either. You are a boss lady Kandi, and I am here for learning from you about the business side of the music industry all day long. Peace & Love!

@@marylee7460 It’s a simple math problem…Xscape was always getting three times the amount that SWV was paid. Example: Let’s say you have $100. Xscape would get $75 and SWV would get $25. If they agree to co-headline which would split the $100 in half, then Xscape would get $50 and SWV would get $50. Why would a group, Xscape, who has always been the top billing of all of the Xscape and SWV concerts, and been getting three times more of the bag suddenly agree to a pay cut? Especially since it has been proven that Xscape is the group that has sold out every show they’ve done since they came back together in 2018. Keep in mind, it’s not a reflection of SWV’s talent, because we all know that they are phenomenal singers and performers, but at the end of the day it’s about the ticket sales. Right? If Xscape messes with their bag now, they risk forever being offered a lower pay. No one in their right mind would think this is okay, including SWV if the shoe was on the other foot (so to speak).
Here’s another quick example. You’ve been a superstar on your job for a number of years. You outsell everyone else and make a lot of money for your company. So, each year the company gives you a massive increase in your pay to reflect the value that you bring. One day the company comes to you and says, “Bob over here could use your help learning how to improve his sales…would you help him? But, you also have to give him part of your pay.” That would be crazy, right? Let’s take it a step further. Bob still doesn’t do as well and ends up leaving the company. Do you think a company will just automatically return your pay back to the amount you made before you took the pay cut to help Bob? I think not! That’s not how business works.

But for both Kandi and Tiny to demand to be the sole headliners under the pretense that they are always headliners and are more popular is wack. And tbh Xscape claiming to have a bigger fan base and more popularity is false.
To my understanding, SWV has more international fame actually doing many shows in other countries. SWV out streamed and outsold in records. I think Tiny and Kandi are bigger over all celebrities because of their reality tv stays, but let’s be clear Xscape has not become more popular because of that. I believe Tiny said it herself that their fans, especially the young ones, didn’t even know they sung.

Kandi, thank you for explaining the business side and helping take emotions out. It was interesting that SWV didn’t have a problem with the male group New Edition headlining although they sold fewer records. So sad that women lack business acumen and are quick to get messy.
It's because they respect the fact that they are older and came first, that's why they made that comment on the show about touring with Destiny's Child and TLC, letting them headline, because it was out of respect of them being older and in the game longer.

To me it’s not about who deserves to headline or if they opened for y’all before, it’s about the way the tour was presented. If you come at me saying you want to do (or agree to do) a collaborative joint effort, I’m gonna be pissed if later on you tell me you actually want to headline the tour and that I’m basically your opening act. Y’all should’ve presented it that way from the beginning, or clarified that this is how it would have to be at the first meeting so nobody’s time is wasted (I don’t remember who pitched the idea of a joint tour).

Here’s the thing, your voice is and had always been unique. We, most of the viewing audience, may never understand what a musically inclined ear hears when they hear your voice but baby you can sing and carried many a tunes that I still rock til this day!

The whole 3 episodes carried the implication (or perception to me at least) that besides Verzuz this would be the 1st time you guys toured together in this capacity. Not only that, it was stated on the opening intro that this was for "One Night". Knowing now more of the backstory and how business works in these scenarios, I agree with you.
