As someone who has used yoshi biddy buggy for years, I now look like a meta bandwagon and I love it
The combo that I've been using and sticking with for quite a while now is Baby Rosie, Mr. Scooty, Azure Rollers and Paper Glider ~
I find that Rosie in baby form already starts out with my preferred stats being prioritized and that the vehicle parts from there only further boost what her raw strengths are ~
Furthermore most of the commonly used set ups by top players seem to have similar priorities when it comes to stat preferences but only with the kart body tires and glider specifically ~
I feel like the character itself also boosting those crucial areas is the most powerful set up in the entire game, and I've been wondering why pro players haven't discovered it yet ~
I feel like it's at least only a matter of time before it becomes the meta ~
That being said, when I first looked into a Kart set up that would enhance my performace in the game after feeling that it was important to my enjoyment of the game, Yoshi Biddy Buggy Azure Rollers was something that worked for me at first ~
i've played the same character rosalina with biddy buggy, red roller wheels, and cloud glider ever since i got the game for some reason lol

Yoshi bike has the same stats as teddy and ink striker (depending on your glider). I feel like inward drift lets you take tighter turns which charges mini's faster and makes you generally faster. Now it has meta stats so it's not just a novelty and if people can warm up to it, it might become the next meta.
Inwards drifting is horrible in MK8D. It messes up your lines constantly

I tried the biddy buggy with Black Yoshi. But I have been getting even lucky playing as the teddy buggy in regionals mode last night. I got hella first places the past few races. 😊😊
I tried Baby Rosie, Mr. Scooty, Azure Rollers, and Paper Gilder once, and from then on I haven't switched to anything else or had any luck finding anything better ~

Dry Bones rules. And you should try Mr. Scooty with Dry Bones it has the same stats as the biddy buggy.
My cousin uses that combo and he's able to cosistently take wins over me with it ~

Break Drifting is absolutely crucial ~
Especially at 200 CC ~
And even when lower it really improves your overall control of your vehicle ~
Break Drifting lets you take some really tight turns to the point of saving a lot of frames and seconds and stuff ~
The reason why Outside Drift is preferred is because Break Drifting pretty much makes it become an Inside Drift but with much less all or nothing to the turn ~

I think this combo will stay even into going wave 5. Unless they make something broken on purpose I don't see the current meta changing. Most stuff is balanced prettt even rigtht now.

I swap out Yoshi for Baby Rosie, and the Biddy Buggy for Mr. Scooty (Same stats though so it's really just for the size height and width of the vehicle, as far as I know anyway, I never looked into if there were crucial differences between the Karts Bikes Sports ad ATVs universally) and then the Azure Roller and Paper Gilder that is quite popular is otherwise unchanged on my end ~

The combo I used was Baby Daisy, Biddybuggy, Roller tires and cloud glider. Win every single time.
My go to combo is Luigi, splat buggy, azure rollers (I like the blue better) and cloud glider. The splat Buggy has one point more speed and same acceleration with one less weight which doesn’t affect me much.

The reason why birdo feels similar to Yoshi is because birdo is just copy and pasted Yoshi. In smash ultimate terms, birdo is an echo fighter of yoshi

Yoshi is just the most popular character. But don't use a heavy like Rosalina. It hurts your mini turbo which is more important then speed.
Biddybuggy definitely has become the most popular by this point. You only see Teddy or Biddy these days. They are really good. Definitely better then Inkstriker
