I think we all have many impulse purchases for fragrance or otherwise like 'oh it smelled great on so and so" or the tester in the store gave off amazingness, so lemme try it" scents. and then getting it and being disappointed or trying to let it grow on you when it's just not your thing. Much appreciation for how specific you are for why these didn't work for you.
Super yummy cake like perfumes that I adore; -Orchidee Vanille by Van Cleef and Arples (a lot of people have a hard time with this not lasting on them, it lasts forever on me) -Love and Crime by Ex Idolo (a better version on Lira by Xerjoff and one of my top 5 for life) -Southern Tea Kakes by Ganache (this is Uber THICK, gourmand, marzipan almond) Hope these help! 💛

It's repulsive on my skin, just smells like pure almond extract smeared on a bald Barbie doll's head. Pure almond extract is a hideous odour at the best of times. Thanks for validating my curiosity; I'll definitely try Love and Crime soon. 😄👍
LPRN Black Perfecto - maybe try the EDT. Personally, I like both, because they’re both gorgeous in their own right. If the EDP is just too much for you, the EDT might be perfect. It loses that sour cherry note, adds a bunch of rose.
Girl of Now was way too powerful for me when I first got it, but I've been wearing it in colder weather and it's starting to become one of my favorites. I do see where it can be too heavy and syrupy for some people, it's almost too much for me, but I kind of like those heavy syrupy scents. I think GoN reminds me of a mix of the sweet, warm floral perfume that my mom used to wear and baking with my grandmother, so it's very comforting to me. I try to restrain myself from overspraying it for other people's sake though.

I have Black Perfecto EDT florale. It is heavier on rose and less prominent on cherry and almond, which create a medicinal smell. Basically a sweet powdery leather rose. Drydown and lasting power is similar.

You can't really say you like sickeningly sweet scents if you don't like girl of now or scandal because these frags are "the definition" of sickeningly sweet. Tbh as a gourmand lover, I don't think the juicy couture range is nearly sweet enough. They're more like fresh floral sweet. I don't even consider them gourmand. They're just not tasty enough.
I ended up giving away my Prada candy gloss. I don’t think I like sour cherry or any fragrances I wear to have a sourness to them. Cherry is a hit or miss bc it can smell medicinal too.
The correct time to wear Mancera's 'Roses Vanille' is when you want to get the party started. I tried to fight it but I gave in and really enjoy this one, it makes me laugh when I spray it, so fun. It's not the normal scent profile I go for but everyone needs a super-fun, lowbrow, silly one to bust out sometimes. It's the one to wear when you need that obnoxious, loveable but life-enhancing friend to snap you out of it and amplify a burgeoning good mood. Forget the IQ points and just have fun sometimes; this is the one. 😄💃🌹🍨
Interesting…I get so many compliments when I wear Prada Candy Gloss, it’s my most complimented, but it doesn’t smell like sweet tarts or too sour on me. Lately, for fall, I’ve been layering it with VS Bombshell intense and it’s been a hit! But you’re right, it definitely has to do with body chemistry and your preferences.
Talking about regrets, today i received Guerlain Insolence eau de toillete. I blind bought it and.... ☹ it smells like a grandma. It's a powdery grandma smell mixed with plastic doll hair. I don't know for what ocassion i could wear this.. probably to go to bed. I don't hate it, it is a pleasant smell, conforting, powdery, very vintage. It's just not for me.
Love girl of now! My bf is not sensitive to any scents except white florals he says they can sometimes smell sharp lol. But he loves super strong sweet scents like girl of now and I dont get headaches from anything. I guess I'm just lucky 🤔 I specifically love strong perfumes. Any reccomends on scents that give you a headache would be lovely for me. I know that's a weird request but I haven't met one that is strong enough yet.
@@laurenskubish400 Because for some people everything smells outdated, even Coco Mademoiselle and some new fragrances. 😁 This people don't think independently and are influenced by social media...LouLou does not smell outdated, on my skin skin it smells warm, powdery, resinous and sweet, very yummy. 😍 This is not La Vie est Belle sweetness, but really beautiful. The first spray might be challenging, wait about 10 minutes for the scent to settle on your skin. Many people make me compliments and ask me what i am wearing. If you like really strong fragrances try some vintages (nobody needs to know how old your fragrance is 😉). Cašmir by Chopard is also beautiful and smells like Ylang in Gold by Micallef.
For honey incense with more complexity than I am giving it….my favorite for life is BEE by ZOOLOGIST. Im buying a backup bottle for fear of reformulation. Living in Houston can still wear year round.
I can never part with my Roses Vanille, i'm not a rose lover by any stretch but this is addictive but only for cold weather like we have here in Ontario Canada. I love it more and more with each time i wear it and it lasts forever and it lasts on clothes till you wash them. But when i first purchased it it wasn't a love for me i found it very strong and overbearing. But its a love for me. Prada Candy Gloss is my favourite of the Prada line. I need to wear my Black Perfecto now that the weather is changing. I love it so much as well.

I'm curious why Gabriella described it as a full-on rose when it isn't.

Girl of now and Scandal are scents for REAL winter temperatures. When it's so cold that your nose doesn't work well anymore, so you need a stronger type of fragrance. That's why most of people complain about, probably they're trying in a completely wrong season or in a place that doesn't have real winter negative temperatures.
Use your impulse buy body sprays as shoe refreshers ladies. I buy those dumb bottles whenever I go to the mall, and never wear them because obviously I want to always smell like one of my fancy expensive fragrances. So I use em at the front door and spray in my shoes before heading out the door
I feel the same exact way about Elie Saab… it def is headache inducing and when I spray it around my husband and kids they always get so mad ! 🤣 I do love the smell but in very brief moments
