I am a person who grew up listening to my grandparents tell scary stories, and the ones that scared me the most were werewolves, and I grew up with this fear, and my grandparents live abroad, on a farm in the middle of the forest and whenever I was going there to visit them, I was very scared, but then I grew up and ended up really liking these stories and I think they should be highlighted more, especially within games, there is a lot to explore in these stories
You're lucky fido doesn't have a good sense of smell... or really sight for that matter, surprised he didn't noticed the flashlight's light from under the table.
I mean, there IS a lot of rotting meat, so it is likely that the wolfdude just couldn’t find her distinct smell, but that doesn’t atone for the obvious blindness.
In case anyone's curious, there was one more sighting of the Wolfman I don't think Librarian saw (in recording, anyway) 23:26, to the right of Jame's head, up on the treeline
Was expecting a cheap unity flip from that thumbnail, but this game ended up being so much more detailed and interesting once you got to the house. Major props to the developer!
The lore of this game and what everything hints to makes me think that leaving without the sword will have James win the fight with the bat but make Jane (aka you) turn into a werewolf then because the curse is passed on and she was bitten in the arm when she got captured. Only killing the creature with the sword can lift the curse.
Hard agree with classic monsters and cryptids needing a comeback, I don't understand why vampires, werewolves, and so on are often used either for primarily humor, parody, or romance fantasies. Do most people think they're not scary enough because these creatures are older?
Man, this game reminds me of my grandfather's stories about werewolves in the woods, past the barn, which only roamed at night. He tried to scare me into staying inside at night (for context, it's an area with lots of German immigrants in the area for many decades prior, so these types of "scare them into believing" stories were quite common), but the idea of being able to befriend a giant dog that I could snuggle up to and read with excited me to such a degree, that I spent a week sneaking out through the bathroom window with cuts of raw venison wrapped in wax paper just to sit in the middle of the forest. I might have been for the best, in all honesty 😅
Honestly hiding in the closet might not have been a bad plan. The door is partially barred, theres a rotting dead animal there to mask your scent and theres a bottle of bugspray you could combine with a lighter for a makeshift defensive weapon. Then again he seems to know your location right off the bat. Probably wouldn’t work.
Librarian, you should take a look at Shipwrecked 64! It's a fantastic ARG and I'm sure you're gonna like it. It's filled with puzzles and the story is not only coherent but actually believable that it could've happened irl. I don't want to spoil anymore about the game because you HAVE to experience it by yourself.
This feels oddly nostalgic. The low-poly models really helps to have this kind of ps2 feel, which is pretty fitting for such an old school style of horror and narrative. Also the most random puzzles just for gameplay sake are pretty remeniscent of old Resident Evil games.
The spelling was imperfect but the mix of puzzles and spooks and atmosphere were very fun and the details show the developer has passion and a sense of humour. I look forwards to seeing what Jonny R makes next!
"Ok, Yep, screw our friends, goodbye, later" Still makes sure to shut the shack door despite there being 2 holes and a broken down door right after Melissa was yanked through the window by the wolfman.
you mentioned wanting more werewolf media, and one actually came out this year called blackout. I hesitate to call it good, but it is an independent film wanting to tackle the werewolf myth in a modern setting and there's quite a few good moments and i really like the main performance from the lead actor.
Hi Librarian! I think you’d find this Minecraft mod called Sanity: Descend Into Madness very interesting! I’m sure many people would love to see some gameplay with it covered on your channel :) Edit: it would be even cooler if you played it with the Insanity shaders!
This is really making me miss Werewolf the apocalypse. I seriously wish a good version of that table top game got made. Or for someone to make a werewolf mod for vanilla minecraft would be epic!
I haven’t any of the WoD or nWoD games, but I’ve heard Werewolf Forsaken 2e is pretty solid. I know New World of Darkness gets a bad rap but I own and have read the second edition book for Vampire Requiem and it seems like a really solid system/setting, even though I never got around to running it
Oh my GOD yes... I'm 30 minutes in so far, and this game is doing a Phenomenal job at creating, and building both tension and dread on concept and atmosphere alone. It doesn't always have to be some otherworldly, 50 feet tall incomprehensible being from another dimension created in some lunatic's basement in an attempt to bargain with the devil to bring his pet dog back to life using human sacrifices... Sometimes, a Werewolf, a spooky forest, and horny teenagers are all you need. And more importantly, for the characters to feel like they matter to the player character so we feel something when bad things start happening!
I can't believe me AND Librarian had the exact same suspicion when Melissa made her confession XD 26:20 for anybody that wants the timestamp of Melissa's confession.
hey man :]. i've been watching for a few years (if you remember me), but i took a break to let the backlog grow since i watched every single one of your videos lol. did you get a new microphone in the last year or so or are my headphones better?
Nice palate cleanse between SubNautica and VoTV episdes. Yes, classic movie monsters need a resurgence, but after the poor retreads of The Mummy and Frankenstein over the last few decades I’m not holding out much hope, and I don’t even want to mention Teenage Werewolf.
32:10 ah yes we have to run to save our lifes, damn i forgot to lock the door you guys drive aways i must close the doors, mom always told me to do so whenever i leave...
Is the choice of using tr tr tr sound when the npcs talk ,a question about art style or a way to avoid having voice actors record dialog , and cost effort related too that? The game seem nice otherwise, and I gave noticed that many Japanese games does this thing with the" voices" On caraters .
0:30 speaking of cryptids, there is a game I'd like you to play.. Roblox Cult Of The Cryptid's. Its a dying game despite its quality. But I guess it is old.
SheWolf. She had yellow vomit. If the Developer/Creator of this video game makes a Part 2 or with a different title. Maybe you instead of playing as a Survivor, you play as the Werewolf/SheWolf.
Depending on the lore the developer went with, it's very likely that with the killing of the werewolf, the curse is lifted.
Librarian is a Werewolf irl confirmed!?
would😈😈
Maybe a werechihuahua?
He’s a furry
🐺➕😡👉🧒🔜☠️
Wolf? Where?!
I think werewolves are something my great grandparents were scared of and something I'm attracted to
Enemies to lovers: bloodline edition
Humanity advances
Werewolves are hot :3

Yeah, I kept saying “shut off the flashlight!” for all the good it did.

Werewolf?
What about waswolf?
Everyone always ask "where wolf?" but nobody ever ask "how wolf?"
Never ask a woman her age
Never ask a man his salary
Never ask about willwolf
8:12 i always found flashlights to be more scary, sure you have a farther reaching light but it makes it difficult to see what's beside or behind you

You did put them in your games, Todd
I'm so glad you're playing this game. You're right about the classic monsters, when you really think about it they are horrifying
wolfman/dogman is my favorite cryptid. loved this one!
Sad we didn't get to see Jane wolf :(

An addendum: This game has rekindled a giddy type of fear that I haven't felt since Amnesia: The Dark Decent
Big props to the developer!
That's a cute story, thank you for sharing!

Always remember to carry your elephant gun when dealing with werewolves.
The cool thing was the very clever camera usage during the cinematics! You see those sort of shots in movies with pretty good production values.
I just saw this get posted! I love these vids! I won't watch this right now, I'll wait until night to get the full vibe.

Surprisingly fresh horror game that seems to completely subvert some rules of the genre. Some pretty devious scares in this one

Why are there standing around a barrel fire like a bunch of hobos instead of making an actual campfire and sitting around it?
Hey Librarian, the original cave dweller mod for Minecraft got updated and is way scarier now
No its not
Its just more deadly
@@GikamesShadow It has a whole new stalking mechanic where it slowly follows you. Sounds pretty scary to me
