- The Radio Control hobby is growing at a rapid rate, and partners, couples, and singles - both men and women are delving into the world of these tiny trial trucks for some full sized fun. For the FiRST time ever seen on RC ADVENTURES, JEM builds her Brand NEW Trail Truck for all the viewers to see! For her first build, she has selected a Radio Control "trail truck kit" named the Axial SCX10 ii (2). This is her second trail truck - and some of you may know her iconic "PiNKY" Axial SCX10 Honcho. It came as an RTR (Ready to Run) version - and Jem has run that truck for about 7 years. Of course, over time - we have upgraded her truck - but, my wife wanted to try her hand at the building process!
Get your Axial SCX10 2 4x4 Kit here: (amzn.to/2pLlBxU)
Giving a true, real-life experience - from Unboxing a new Kit, to Building her first set of axles, Jem narrates throughout the film about her thought process while assembling this model. Full of laughs, learning, and some struggles - Jem demonstrates that a passionate RC hobbyist can tackle the most daunting jobs. Her advice: "Just start building, how hard can it be?" Words of wisdom :)
The truck kit she is building:
SCX10 II™ 2000 Jeep® Cherokee 1/10th Scale Electric 4WD - Kit
AR44 HI-PINION AXLES:
High pinion gears for added ground clearance & better driveshaft angles
The high pinion design allows increased gear surface contact for increased durability
Larger load bearings used around the gear set to reduce flex and create a stronger drivetrain
Single piece axle housing for added strength
Small pumpkin for increased clearance and a more realistic, scale look
Front and rear 1-piece lockers
Bolt on link mounts
Knuckle carriers and straight axle adapters have a better mounting system with 10-degree increment adjustments
Optimized gear ratio - 3.75 compared the previous at 2.92 - this reduces torque twist at the axle which is typically seen with other small pumpkin axle designs
2000 JEEP® CHEROKEE BODY:
Comes with molded scale detail parts (Grill with clear lenses, mirrors, door handles and liftgate trim panel).
Clear Body with detailed decal sheet and window masks
SCX10™ II TRANSMISSION:
Transfer case design helps keep the driveshaft’s centered and as low as possible in the chassis
Final drive ratio range 33.69 - 54.15 with available spur - pinion gear combinations
Comes with 56T spur gear and 15T pinion / 32-pitch for durability
All metal internal gears for strength and durability
Final drive ratio (FDR) 40.44 with a range from 33.69 - 54.15 - Original SCX10 was 33.06
Scale looks mimics a full size transmission and transfer case
CHASSIS MOUNTED SERVO (CMS):
Scale looks with proper suspension geometry
Anodized aluminum links included w/ M4 rod ends
Adjustable servo mounting system allows for a wide range of servos to be used
Properly designed suspension for nearly zero bump steer
AR44 UNIVERSAL AXLE SET:
Up to 45 degrees of steering
Smooth action for an efficient drivetrain
Compact yet durable design
Hardened steel construction
KINGPIN ANGLE:
8 degree kingpin angle
Improved scrub radius over the AX10 axle
ALL ALUMINUM SUSPENSION LINKS:
All links are metal including the steering
Custom tapered center - flared ends design
Large M4 rod ends
Grey anodized aluminum
1.9 METHOD MESH WHEELS:
Officially licensed METHOD Mesh Wheels are replicated in true form for durability and a clean look.
1.9 BFGOODRICH ALL-TERRAIN T/A® KO2 TIRES - R35:
Officially licensed by BFGoodrich
4.65” x 1.65” / 1.9 (118mm x 42.5mm)
R35 compound
ADJUSTABLE WHEELBASE:
Wheelbase adjustment is easily done in the rear end without affecting the steering geometry and maintaining zero bump steer.
Adjustable wheelbase (11.4”/ 12.0” / 12.3”) with optional links sold separately
4 link rear
12.3” wheelbase
ICON ALUMINUM SHOCKS:
Fully licensed Icon Vehicle Dynamics™ shocks feature clear coated polished aluminum bodies, complete with aluminum faux reservoirs.

Way to go Jem! No worries if u mess something up...play the innocent card and blame it on Medic anyways 😎😎
Searching for the Truth Exactly! lol
MEDIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah
5 years later and their dislikes don't mean nothin! Lol
Hi all
Thank you Jem for doing this video, and, for wearing comfortable clothing. It makes me and other men see that you actually enjoy this hobby, rather than, for some other reason. It might also make other girls feel more comfortable and confident about getting into this hobby as well. I want to appreciate you for you. Your interest, fun, and knowledge.
More, More, More, Please Jem bring us more. You beautify the hobby.
Nice to see another girl in the RC world way to go Jem girl power!!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
🦄 UNICORN ALERT 🦄
Guys we have just witnessed a super rare viewing of the elusive species of woman that men are looking for but rarely ever find! Jem rocks!!! She is a natural in front of the camera. Kudos !
crikey!!
I was personally in shock when I saw this. All I could say was "finally!" I wonder when Maurice makes a video 😉
little man is the biggest star and only makes cameos for now
i love your video.
BryceBlakeChristian Kamau
it's nice too see families doing a project together and getting into the Hobby like mine thumbs up Jen thank you for your time. awesome choice
This was one of the best RC Sparks Videos. Nice to see her making her own video. Makes anyone believe they can build their own RC. Bravo !
So my wife and I just finished dinner and I started watching this video. Well I'm wanting her to be as much of an enthusiast as I am in the rc hobby, so I laid beside her on the couch to watch this awesome video together..well she loves your nail polish and wants to know what color it is 😂😂. She also stated that she would love to build one. Awesome video thanks for sharing!!
Jem says its "Star Burst" from a "IDB" .. haha.. and Jem sends her best wishes to the future builder!
Watching her do a build kit makes me want to go out and get me a kit. The 2 trucks I have were either purchased 2nd hand with upgrades already or a RTR that I have modified. Kits always look so fun.
It's good to see your digging in elbows deep building your own kit. It's the best way to learn how it works and how to make your own repairs. when I first started in the rc hobby all that were available were kits. the only ready to run trucks were cheap toys for kids. it's also awesome that both you and your hubby include your son in the hobby at such a young age. he will be a kit building maniac before you know it. good luck with your truck build can't wait to see you next build video. the most important thing is have fun with it Jem.
congrats Jem on starting your first build. we already know it will be awesome. i can't believe how big Mo is getting, they grow so fast.
Jem is queen of rc can't wait for more videos of her build it's going to be amazing to see how fast she picks it up and digs deep inside the amazing hobby of rc I think in the future videos we should definitely definitely see a build off between Jem and Medic with identical trucks then have them hit the track and trail love the video and seeing mother and son working together happy mother's day Jem
For me the best part of rc is the build, playing with the finished truck its a bonus
Jems voice is so soothing. This is almost like an RC ASMR video. Love it.
it's great to see you Jem. hope to see you do more builds n the future. medic you got a good woman here ... love to see the whole family involved in the hobby. very inspiring
so great to see jem getting involved in building a truck, the RC hobby something the whole family can enjoy together, brilliant keep up the good work,👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I am not going to put gloves on, because that would cover up these beautiful nails...
That has never been said before on a rc channel. XD
I think Jem did great. Its not easy to keep a build video entertaining.
it's a little easier with smooth skin and hot pink nails. just sayin'.
Wanna give a big thanks to Rc's sparks family and Studios for putting this video up. I was always a little afraid of putting together my own RC. I was afraid I would mess and thing up and it will go horribly wrong. But seeing Jim put together her own car. makes me say if she can do it I can too. So thank you thank you thank you a million times over!!!!
really enjoying this build, somethings seeing the experts doing builds(while enjoyable) can leave you feeling left out in the cold. fantastic work Jem.
NICE! The best way to learn about RC is when you put a RC kit together yourself... Now you learn the ins and outs of the RC and now you will know how to fix it if something ever breaks on it!
also when you finish and see that you made a RC from a pile of parts it makes you feel good and also is great knowing your did it and it's a great accomplishment!
GOOD FOR YOU !!! and everyone should try building a RC kit instead of just buying a RTR!
my love and Respect to you and your hubby you both are awesome thank you for making it look easy God bless your Family
NEW BUILDING VIDEO!!! YES! FINALLY!!! Thank you for your awsome work during all the years! I wish you all the best! (FROM BELGIUM) Kisses and love!!
Jem, so fantastic to see another woman who loves RC (and tacos). your little boy is just adorable x
Yesss!!! The RC hobby is for everyone. This video might just get my wife interested in the hobby. The Medic family rocks!!!
that is so awesome she is in garage building a truck on her own Jem rocks
Glad to see Jem doing her own build series. Keep it up.
Back watching again six years later, still super cool. Watching now 10:39 AM Thursday 2024 👍👍😎
absolutely LOVE that you're doing this Jem!! I'm a total noob too, so seeing you learn is awesome. can't wait for the next episode!!! #learningtogether
Great to see you building your own rig, there's a feeling of pride in building these lil trucks...and this hobby is for ALL to enjoy 👍so good job and thanks
awesome stuff jem ! linda built her own scx10 for the first time two yrs ago . she said she really enjoyed the build .
Too cooooooool! Awesome to see Jem doing a build! She's a pro!👌 Great idea Aaron! Thanks for sharing ❤️
nice job jem!!! you have to do this more often!!! this is one of my favorite channels I viewed daily!!!
Jem is a GEM!!! What a lucky guy.
it's great to see woman get involved in RC
Your doing an awesome job Jem! It is great to see you tackling such a build. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together!
Congratulations Jem!! I have an SCX10 II and I love it! I think you're setting a great example for other ladies/women/girls to feel confident enough to build their own truck/car/boat/plane etc! Especially when you've been around them for years, you have to get your feet wet before you can swim! I thought the instructions were spot-on and don't think you will have any problems until you get to electronics. Even the best of us need help sometimes. Getting one system to work with another can sometimes be more confusing then calculus! Can't wait to see it on the trails! You are going to need a cool name for your truck like PINKY 2.0, PINKY EXTREME, WOMAN BUILT TO THE HILT!!! 😉👍
Love the start of this, great vibe of Jem sneaking in and stealing your cameras and workspace :)
There's two sides to enjoying RC, so enjoy this one too, it's addictive. Looks like you've got a handle on it. Cheers
way to go Jem. this will be fun to watch.
the best advertisement for Axial , a motivation to start r/c or to buy this kit , excellent !!! ...
'We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents.' ;)

I kindly request more of these videos.Honestly would watch y'all put together kits all the time.Doesn't help that I want an SCX10 either.
Aaron sorry to say its great Jem taking over the studio.... keep up the good work Jem
Jem - WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF *REAL* MODELERS!!! 👍👍😎🍺🍺👏
Anyone can open a RTR box... it takes SKILL to build a model! You GO GIRL! I'm going to watch every minute of this series, especially since I've never built an Axial before. You're going through it in a way that doesn't ASSUME that the viewer knows everything already. I like that!
BTW, if I may offer one tip... If that grease you're using is waterproof, glob a little bit in the ends of the axles. It will prevent water from getting in. 😉
Kudos Ms. Gem!!! 👌
Murph
I gave my girlfriend my 2wd Slash, she immediately fell in love with the hobby!
Pinky hasn't been moved much!?!? Look at those flats! Congrats Jem!
Pinky and Tango just filmed in California 2 weeks ago! She did great :)

Sweet build, went back to this video to see your first build, enjoying them. :) thank you.
This is so neat to see Jem flying solo :D

I wish there was a bigger better way to thumbs up but I give Jem two thumbs up and a five star response! Keep up the great job Jem! cant wait for the rest of the build. Dont worry about you not knowing what all the parts are its your first build. looking forwards to the rest of this series.
JEM INSPIRED ME! I wanted to get a axial scx10 ll rtr but I wanted a lcg trans and I wanted to put brushless so now I am going to get a kit because of you Jem thank you!

JEM so nice to see you do this, the RC world need´s MANY!!! more woman´s like you. We need to break down that barrier that RC is a guy´s hobby/toy´s.Nice job for a first try.thumbs up girl :-)over and out from Sweden. :-)
Hey Jem, loved this build from you, great to see more of you. Hope to see more productions in the future. Hopefully once my misses sees this, she will understand that RC is for girls too!! Can't wait to see this truck finished and in action.
