Though I don’t know if it’s the same for the Scottish when it comes to an outsider joining your group or a friend of friend, and someone tries to roast one of them, it usually doesn’t end well, I imagine that for you guys the outsiders are more willing to join in and not take things offensively. I will say that this is very Celtic (Ireland and Scotland) type humour. The more effort we put into the insults the more we like you. People from US and South of England as well are often genuinely shocked at how welcoming the Celtic peoples are and also by how brutal we are to each other.

    • @TheHobade
      @TheHobade Рік тому

      Don't mean to reign on your parade re Celts, but there has been about 16 different Celtic or Indo-European languages to have existed. some have even been bought back to life after dying to keep local culture. Gaelic, Scots Gaelic, Welsh, Cornish, Breton in Normandy, and, Manx in the Isle of Mann.
      My point is, people from the southeast of England are just as Celtic in hereditary as someone from northwest Ireland. Be careful with that word "Celt". Even though majority are found in France/Germany, they have found Celtic DNA fossil skeletons in Russia, Siberia and China.
