I don't remember which one, but my older brother had one of these Hudsons that he used to set up around the Christmas tree when I was very young (1-3 years old). I remember I used to love the smell of the chemical used to make it smoke.
I have a 2055 that runs and smokes great. But I love the looks of that 2046. I also have a 681 Steam Turbine that came with a 2671W whistle tender, which also works perfectly. Thanks for posting these!
As always, a wonderful video of some of our favorites, running on your beautiful layout. Our hobby supports so many interests - train enthusiasts, the miniature model hobby, electricians, Lionel collectors - and your videos represent all these so well. The Lionel Hudsons run great, and we’ve got several of those you’ve shown in regular service. Another fascinating history of the changes made to a single loco over 30 years! Keep them coming, we enjoy every video!
Another fine and informative video of classic Lionel Trains, many thanks indeed. Have a 221 and a 2065 myself, and they're fine engines, though they don't seem to get as much hype as the other hudsons like the 773 and the ever-famous 700-E.
While he doesn’t have it, he did make a note of it while displaying the 2046 (the “it was only offered in 1952 and lacked Magnatraction due to the Korean War”)
Fantastic Lionel model train history, I was born in 1950 so I remember these trains.

I have a 685 in storage! Thank you for teaching me a bit about this engine!

old trains, old vehicles, old Harleys, old money, old friends I want all of it. forgive me Lord
2-6-4 wheel arrangement.
Cool
That there is a Spicy Meat Ball for a Lionel.
Your 2055 has the wrong tender The 2055 came with a square tender not a streamline with a scoop.
