- A short video showing how to properly install an Electro Magnetic door lock to your frame. The lock being used is the EM lock from AKCP www.AKCP.com.

The plate didn't even line up to the mag, the plate was too far up because they mounted the plate without taking into account the measurement for the maglocks mounting bracket.
From Valencia, Venezuela, my experience with Magnetic Locks : t's a lock that gives reasonable security in access control, not too high, but it works, must be supplemented by other devices and should be helped with staff . The MagLocks are good for offices, shops, they always have people inside. If there is no electricity, the lock opens, but you can install a Mini UPS

Was it really necessary to have that loud abrasive annoying music playing during the tutorial? There was no way that the door plate lined up with the mag on this install, you mounted the door plate too high on the door, best practice is to center the door plate on the magnet with the magnet energized, then hold the assembly up to the closed door for alignment, mark the mag mounting location at this time. You can put a bit of double sticky tape on the door plate when doing this, once aligned, cut the power and the plate will stay on the door so you can mark the mounting location, then proceed with the install.
What is the purpose of that background noise?
Would the magnetic part attach to a metal door with the plate supplied?
you talk about using the correct tools at the beginning but use a masonry drill bit to drill into a wooden door frame?

Drilled a crooked hole to start with and stuck the power wire right through the crooked whole and power for the lock came from.....the crooked whole?
Lmao, you left out 90% of the installation process.. great job! not, my favorite part is you have a cat5 already connected to the lock(I'm assuming for power? as any lock just requires a 18/2), then demonstrate how to drill a crooked hole while the door is closed(LMAO) that you miraculously ran that wire thru.. I wouldn't let you install a zoning sticker on a keypad let alone access security
I've seen people in Europe use cat5, you can use it if you twist the pair of wires together but you need two sets of each color most common is Orange and Orange/White being the positive and Blue and Blue/White as the negative.

This video is not helpful. You are explaining how to do things while showing photos of tools needed and not going step by step. For those of us with little to no experience it is useless.

Its should not be outside the door it must be inside the door
But, but, but it's stupid!! You need to install this outside the room. Some one can unscrew the device and come on in!
This was done from inside the door, on a door that pulls to open. If you tried to put this assembly on the other side of this door, the door would not ever open since the lock would block the door...duh.
I'm no physicist but couldn't you use a strong positive or negative magnet on the lock part and you're in?
It's pretty tough to just generate a strong magnet...

Don't understand the purpose of the background music in the videos. Very annoying and loud and not even good music. Just talk without the music. it would be just fine.

that lock is a piece of shit you would have too drill 2 extra holes in the metal strip and counter sink the bolt holes so the nut head would set flush and the bolt would have to pass all the way thru the door with washer and lock nuts on the inside or it would pull right out of the door when someone pryed on it with a nail bar and the 2 bolts that hold the EM lock on the door jam is a joke i could get in that door with a craftsman screw driver

we bought a KURR electric lock at our hardware store for 299.00 it works great and is flawless but it is designed differerent and had heavy hardware for mounting to our door.I added an automatic door closer so now if someone breaks in and comes down the stairs the door closes behind them and boom there stuck in the stare case between two steel entry doors and its going to be up to us to deside what happens to them break into the wrong house pay a big price,

Garbage. Any lock is only as good as the way it is mounted and or installed. I small screw is hold the plate on, which means one small kick will handle that.
