Definitely felt this song as someone who's white and raised in Florida. The second I "woke" up, was instantly labeled a "race traitor" and accused of "white guilt" and death threats started. That's how I learned that I was on the right track and who the enemies of humanity are. Though, in regards to music, my anti racist militancy was inspired by ICP in high school.

here's the story .. yelawolf used the confederate flag, alot, prior to this because he felt he was trying to represent a new image of the south. Then that person shot up the church, and a bunch of images of the shooter flying the confederate flag surfaced. This made Yelawolf concerned that his fans might be getting the wrong message from the flag, and he decided not to fly it anymore.
It doesn't have anything to do with whether Yelawolf is 'woke', as you said.
Also around 7:19 , and more specifically at 7:42, you seemed to imply that all rednecks are racist. Idk if meant to say that or not, but that's not true at all.
